Aim
Revival of Shekhawati tourism through Cultural promotion and Urban interventions
To prepare a plan for the revival and promotion of Shekhawati tourism through cultural promotion and urban interventions
Methodology
Need of the Study
Shekhawati, renowned for its ornately decorated havelis adorned with intricate frescoes, stands as a living testament to the cultural legacy of Rajasthan. However, neglect, urban decay, and changing economic dynamics have posed threats to Shekhawati's heritage, necessitating urgent interventions for its preservation and revitalization. By reviving and promoting Shekhawati tourism through strategic initiatives such as heritage conservation, cultural festivals, and urban revitalization projects, we can safeguard the region's cultural identity, stimulate economic growth, empower local communities, and showcase its unique heritage to the world.
Objectives
1. To study Shekhawati art and paintings used in murals of havelis
2. To understand the concepts of cultural tourism and its relationship with development
3. To analyze the existing status of tourism in Shekhawati region
4. To identify the potential areas for improvement in terms of infrastructure, tourist attractions, and promotion.
5. To formulate a comprehensive plan to uplift the Shekhawati tourism.
Regional Connectivity Tourism Products
Shekhawati is well-connected by road networks to major cities and towns in Rajasthan and neighboring states. National Highways such as NH 11 and NH 52 pass through the region, providing access to cities like Jaipur, Bikaner, and Delhi.
of Shekhawati
In addition to its tangible attractions like forts, havelis, and historical sites, Shekhawati offers several intangible tourism products that enrich the visitor experience and showcase the region's cultural heritage

• Goal : To create sustainable and liveable communities that meet the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors. District is the most convenient unit of administration for regional planning as primary financing occurs at the district level, hence leading to better utilization of resources
Need of the Study

SITE PLANNING
Dwarka, sector 24
Site
The site is in Dwarka Sector 24 having an area of 10.23 ha located at the western periphery of the zone K-II, adjacent to Najafgarh drain. As per zonal plan, the sector 24 is to be developed into low density housing. The site is surrounded by high rise residential towers on the east and agricultural land on the west across the drain (author, 2022). The site is well connected to public transport nodes, with Dwarka Sec -21 metro station connecting to Blue Line as well as Airport Express Line, providing access to airport within 15 minutes The site however, lacks reliable public transit to metro stations. The site is at corner of two major arterial roads, Dhoolsiras road, traversing western plot boundary, eventually connecting to Haryana and Delhi Urban Extension Road (UER) II project running on southern plot boundary, is an under construction expressway (NH344M) by NHAI. (Delhi Development Authority, 2011)
Problem statement
The design brief requires planning of flatted housing for high income group, accommodating required population of 5000 people along with social and physical infrastructure while keeping the developmental controls in check as suggested by Delhi masterplan norms The site partially falls within air funnel zone due to IGI airport in the northern part.

Design Parameters
Introduction
• Site planning is a process whereby the optimum utilization of the site's potential is considered recognizing the site's constraints. It uses the 3dimensional space of the site and the associated locational advantages, human activities and the regulations assigned to a particular site.
• The site is developed using a set of standards/norms in a given context which varies from location to location.
• Factors such as the location, type of land use, and infrastructural facilities must be considered along with the existing and proposed pattern of future growth. This analysis must view the site conditions, proposed infrastructure, local development byelaws and controls.
Design Concept
The design proposal has derived from the radburn concept made in order to make the optimum utilization of green spaces along with the housing. Utilizing the use of cul-de sac, the key objective is to minimize the vehicular movement within the site, providing residents with completely unobstructed pedestrian movement
