READY TO READ

Ready to Read is a Kindergarten–Grade 1 program that includes all subjects. It is for students who are ready to read. They should know letters and sounds, numbers and meanings, and basic shapes before starting. Similar to Letters + Numbers, it is customizable. The first two books are for beginning readers and focus on three-letter words, while the latter two pave the way toward fluency. Take a look!

INCLUDES ALL SUBJECTS INCLUDING MATH! VIEW ALL

Our main units contain 20 lessons and cover social studies, science, history, language arts (reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary), geography, art, Bible, and more. You can purchase any unit that you and your children are interested in, and all those subjects are contained within it. You do not have to follow any particular order, and can fill your year with any units you like (most of our families average 8–10 units per year). The best part—because you can select different student levels for the same unit, you can teach all your children together! You’ll read the lesson from the Teacher’s Guide as a group, and then each child will work in their own student notebook, with assignments that connect to the reading but target their individual academic level. You can expect a school day to range from 2–3 hours at the lower levels, increasing at the middle and high school levels to more like 4 hours.

Each unit (or topic) is designed to be done in one month and includes 7 “steps” (we don’t use specific grades in order to leave flexibility for students). Coming this fall, we will begin releasing units in the proposed order below at the rate of one per month (every five weeks). We have an easy online placement test you can take and you can finally custom-tailor a math program to suit your child’s needs!

Check out some of the exciting features of our Modular Math curriculum:

MODULAR MATH

NUMBER SENSE

Start off your year with the foundations of what numbers are and how they work. Younger levels focus heavily on place value while older levels go into pi, understanding absolute value, inverse numbers, the base 10 system vs. base 2 and more!

SUBTRACTION

This unit follows a similar layout as addition to show how subtraction is the opposite operation. Depending on the level, you might learn to subtract with or without regrouping, on a calculator, using rounding or mental math, or with decimals, fractions, negative numbers, and absolute value.

MONEY

Though we hit on the major topics like identifying money, adding or subtracting, making change, bank accounts, payment methods, tax, interest, budgeting, and more, this unit goes much deeper. Students will also work on developing a kingdom mindset when it comes to money, learn to honor God with their finances, and follow His lead to save, spend, and give wisely.

DIVISION

Similar to multiplication, we start with a basic foundation of breaking things up into equal groups for our Foundations level and work our way up to upper level division as it applies to multiple different forms.

ADDITION

Learn all about the world of addition from setting up and solving equations, regrouping, and estimating, to adding money and other decimals, using subtraction to check addition, and adding fractions, time, exponents, and more! We’ve included a lot of real-world scenarios and word problems to help you see how addition is used in everyday life.

MEASUREMENT

Because our units do not have exact grades attached, we try to be as purposeful as possible in our outcomes and content approach. Most math curricula had no major new measurement outcomes for grade 7 and 8, and so instead of our typical arrangement where Step 6 is equivalent to grade 7/8, we separated out kindergarten (Foundations) to be two units to break concepts up more. This means our Step 6 level is actually equivalent to grade 5/6 for this particular unit.

MULTIPLICATION

This unit covers the foundation needed for “creating and identifying equal groups,” through to skip counting, and eventually multiplication of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, and more for older students.

GEOMETRY

Beginning with shape identification and working our way to using a compass, determining angles, radius/ diameter, area, perimeter, and much more.
