The Georgia Tech Scheller MBA Class of 2020 displayed remarkable resilience and achieved outstanding employment success in the face of all the obstacles and disruptions caused by the pandemic.

Along with exemplifying resiliency during this uncertain time, Scheller MBA graduates continue to show employers how hard-working, focused, and positive they are, which is so important in this ever-changing world.

Statistics are wonderful – they let one compare ‘apples to apples’ – but at Scheller, we’re not driven by statistics. What drives us are personal, human stories and the dreams and ambitions of each individual student and how much we believe in each and every student. Because of that, it is our goal to make the recruiting and hiring process of Scheller MBA students as seamless and streamlined as possible.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, employers worldwide faced dramatic changes in daily operations, strategic planning, and hiring. Georgia Tech Scheller MBA graduates are trained and prepared to create value and leverage opportunities for their employers, especially in times of uncertainty and volatility.

Our Class of 2020 graduates proved their worth in the global marketplace, securing a high percentage of job offers. For Full-time MBA Spring 2020 graduates, 90.4 percent of those seeking employment were employed three months after graduation.

In recent years, our Full-time and Evening MBA cohorts have grown in both academic caliber and diversity of makeup — aligning with employers’ needs for top-tier talent. Unparalleled Career Services Despite the economic downturn and changing business landscape, the Class of 2020 was ready and prepared to face the challenge, equipped with top-ranked career services from the MBA Jones Career Center.

Jones MBA Career Center advisors work with MBA students to turn their dreams into reality, during a global pandemic or not. With a 31:1 ratio of students to career advisor, the Center is keenly aware of the changing interests of job-seeking MBA candidates and the evolving needs of MBA employers.

Quality of career services played an integral part in helping the Class of 2020 navigate a constantly changing career landscape. Career center advisors created playbooks for their students to cope with the Covid-19 crisis. One of the playbooks was directly targeted to students who experienced rescinded offers and the other covered how to approach virtual

Curriculum for a Tech-Driven World The Scheller Full-time and Evening MBA programs offer specialized concentrations and immersive tracks in addition to its 21-credit core curriculum. Specializations are not required but can serve as helpful guides to navigating elective coursework and signifying areas of specialty to future employers.

In addition to traditional academic concentrations, Scheller MBAs can pursue immersive tracks to develop deep expertise in emerging areas through hands-on projects with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, incubators, and startups. Unique Experiential Learning Opportunities With 12 practicum courses, MBA students gain experience putting classroom knowledge to the test against real-world issues and problems. Scheller’s location plays means it is in constant collaboration with the Atlanta and Tech Square network, developing mutually beneficial relationships with Fortune 500 companies, startups, and innovation centers.

Partnering organizations assist with practicums, capstone projects, and international trips that allow students to leverage classroom learning to tackle business issues and to eventually bring that expertise into future roles.

Dual Degrees Our digital-first, tech-driven work environment needs a new type of leader with technology know-how, solid business acumen, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Scheller’s dual MBA degree program options allows students to combine an MBA with an MS or PhD degree in programs within the Colleges of Engineering, Computing, and Design. Pairing an MBA with another Georgia Tech graduate degree allows students to gain specialized expertise and a unique blend of skills to add increased value to their organizations.

Scheller’s mix of MBAs from technical and non-technical backgrounds provides employers with a diverse pool of strong candidates. Scheller has earned a reputation among corporate recruiters for providing candidates with leadership skills, strong work ethic, excellent analytical abilities, and demonstrated ability to succeed.

This year’s incoming students brought expertise spanning a variety of professional and educational backgrounds. Of note is that half of this year’s incoming Full-time MBA students have an educational background in STEM. Also, this year’s incoming Evening MBA class is made up of 41 percent women, making it the highest proportion of women enrolled in the program’s history.

Evening MBA Class of 2020 Georgia Tech Scheller Evening MBA students enter into the program with a variety of goals – whether it’s career growth through promotions, making a career pivot, or transitioning to a leadership role. The Jones MBA Career Center offers full career services support for Evening MBA students, helping students make significant changes across company, level, function, and industry both during and after the program.

While looking at the Evening MBA program’s employment outcomes, it’s important to remember that students are typically employed throughout the program and a change in employment outcome can occur at any time or multiple times during the program. The Evening MBA Class of 2020 is defined as those students graduating in August 2019, December 2019, and May 2020, and this snapshot is based upon employment status four months post-graduation.

Our concierge approach includes an assigned Corporate Relations Manager who will help employers design and implement a custom Scheller MBA recruiting strategy.

The Center offers a variety of corporate engagement options that provide access to Scheller’s extraordinary students, faculty, and exceptional learning opportunities to advance your company’s goals.
