Welcome to Scary Derry

Derry continues to be the best place in the world for Halloween. As part of Féile’s Connect-Interact-Create initiative, a new good relations arts & cultural programme in Bogside, Bishop Street & Fountain neighbourhoods, students from primary and post primary schools in the area were tasked with writing scary stories and poems using local myths, legends, buildings or locations. We have chosen a selection of the best stories for inclusion in this new publication which will be distributed to students across the area this Halloween.

Thanks to the students and teachers from Lumen Christi College, Long Tower Primary School, Fountain Primary School, Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir, Nazareth House Primary School and St. Eugene’s Primary School for taking part.

Scary Derry

Walking into Derry, Shivers down your spine, Up and round the corner, You hear the bells chime,

You walk right past the Guildhall, There’s a witch Standing Tall, Cackling and laughing Saying “I Will Get Them All!”

You run away with fear, but oh goodness, oh dear A flesh-eating zombie, and a devil with a spear,

A blood sucking vampire, Dressed in all Black, You run away from Derry Screaming, ‘I Will Never Come Back!’

Zach’s Scary Derry

The headless horseman goes up and down Southway. If he sees you, you will lose your head quicker than the speed of light. You won’t event know. It’s crazy right.

He wants a new head but he can’t find the perfect head so he uses a pumpkin. Be careful. Be safe and if you see him, run for your life. And if you think it’s a joke, it’s NOT.

If you’re wondering what he does with your head, he uses it as his own and he’s so scary, he scares ghosts away. The home of the Headless Horseman is in the forest.

More horrific screaming ghosts, candy bats, walking pumpkins, dead flying witches, running demons.

So, if you see him, run and beware. Ha Ha Haaaa.

Scary Derry!

It is Halloween night, Halloween in Derry, You better watch out, It is very scary!

Witches on their brooms, Flying in the air, Very, very high, But they have no hair!

Vampires eating blood In the moonlight, Did they brush their teeth? It looks very bright.

Little silly pumpkins, Having lots of fun, But then it all stopped, And now they have none!

All the little ghosts, In Nazareth House School, They look very silly, They look like fools!

Up and up, we go, To the college called Lumen Christi,

There are zombies up there, They look very dizzy.

And there we go again, All the way to Vivo Spar, Are we all excited? Oh yes, oh yes, we are!

Walking down the path, Right to the corner shop, And when I saw 7up, Up and down, I hop.

I see a little staircase, Up and up, I go, But once I got to the top, Now I’m on my own.

I hoped you enjoyed Scary Derry, It was such an adventure, But now here comes the ghost, And he is going to say boo!

My Halloween Story

Scary Poem

On Halloween night,

Derry is full of creeps,

The monsters will make you weep,

The howl of the owl,

The foul crow will make you cry, You will get a beat of horror,

The treat of sweets will make your mouth eat,

The chill of night,

The man will kill,

The girl in red will make you shiver,

The silver knight will make you quiver,

The gremlins will make you thrill,

The terrible terror of Halloween.

On a dark, gloomy Halloween night, the rhythm of drums and music beat in your heart as you walked through Foyleside Shopping Centre. Out of the blue, you felt a tap on your back. It was Casper Jenkins. Then, Bobby Big Poundshop hit you in the stomach. You doubled over in pain, but ran to the safety of McDonalds where you soon met up with Jake and Nathan.

‘Let’s go to our favourite sweet shop,’ Jake suggested.

As you walked in, a giant custard cream suddenly came to life and started chasing you. You ran as fast as you could, all the way to Emerald Palace. You slammed the door tight, and the custard cream walked away, disappointed that it didn’t get its dinner.

‘Dun dun dun’ Jake said dramatically. ‘Let’s order some sausage, chips and gravy.’ But as soon as the sausage

arrived, it came to life and started chasing you and the guys to the Richmond Centre. You could hear the Halloween parade outside. There were Bobby Big Poundshop, the custard cream, the sausage, and Casper Jenkins, all giving you mischievous, spine-chilling grins. Your faces went pale white. What have they in store for us next, pondered the boys.

Suddenly, you felt an unconscious, hearty breathing noise behind you. You and the boys turned around and screamed, ‘Ekkk! Mr.Toy, who was not very toyful, whispered, ‘I see dead people.’

The boys have the sudden urge to turn round and as they do, there lying on the ground is……….

Dread of the Doll

It was a very cold, dark and scary night. A boy called Ozz stumbled upon a peculiar gloomy street. It was like it went on forever! He felt a cold gust of wind upon him. The year was 1989.

Ozz could hear the rustling from the trees. He tried to go away but it was like the streets were closing in on him. As he walked through the crunchy leaves and the dirty rubbish, he found something. He found a dusty blackboard with lots of names on it. He looked at the names and he thought it would be fun to write his name. As he wrote his name he heard a creepy song behind him. He looked around and there was a doll in the shop window!

He sneaked over and found out that the doll looked exactly like him! He banged on the window and in a split second the doll disappeared. He kept banging and banging but still no answer.

He accepted that he wouldn’t get in and started walking away. But then he heard a loud creaking noise.

He saw that there was a key. He then opened the door and walked in. When he went in, he saw multiple dolls on the shelves. Some tall. some small, some chubby and some skinny. He saw his doll and he was going to touch it. It started to fly quickly in the air! Then Ozz touched the doppelganger doll. As he touched it everything went black.

He saw hallucinations that looked like blood dripping from the dolls. When he woke up, he realised that he was trapped inside the doll He didn’t know what to do next so he started to panic. The adrenaline from him being trapped made him jump. He jumped but then fell on the floor. The owner picked him up and put back on the shelf. The owner was his friend Alma’s father!

The Ghostman of the Foyle

Beside the Foyle is an eerie old place, The ghostman lurks with a smile on his face. He’s here, He’s there, He’s everywhere, The ghost of a man who lived over there,

His house remains an empty old shack, Modern features it really does lack, That is until someone walks by, Then they’ll hear the faintest little cry.

His grave it is gone But his cry like a Song, The Foyle loves to hear, and those it keeps dear.

Once down by Prehen, Now the house of wise men, Is down by the foyle, the eerie old place, Where the ghostman lurks with a smile on his face.

The Monster in 38 Magowan Park

P7 St. Eugene’s PS

“Brr” goes the radio “it’s coming for me” “I see it” it goes silent “arghhhh” “crack”. The radio crackled then stopped.

I said with an overly dramatic voice. “OH, shiver my timbers”.

Jaydon says, “Anyways, what do you want to do after school?”

I said, “Do you know about the abandoned house. Its 38 Magowan Park. Apparently its haunted”

He says, “Oh really? What makes it so haunted”.

I said, “Don’t you know the myth about the monster, it attacks anyone that comes into its home”

“Let’s go.” he said, After we got our homework done at my house (and a quick snack), we got changed and set out. When we got there, the first thing I said was “this house seems like the average house in like EVERY Scream movie”

“Typical” Jaydon said.

“What’s that supposed to mean” I said with a chuckle.

When we got to the door, we tried opening, kicking, and prizing it, but it would not budge.

“How do we get in then” Jaydon said.

After brainstorming ideas and producing many absurd ideas an idea struck me.

“Windows! We can break into a window!”

“Where did that brain come from? Because you definitely don’t use it in class!” Jaydon laughed.

We walked around the house until we got about where we started. There was a broken window! We got in and the first thing we did was call our friends Kieran and Cora, so we waited for them to come. While they were on their way, we did not stop to tell them how to get in. Once they texted us, they were here.

We walked up the stairs and into a room. We got in and I abruptly stopped. Jaydon stopped as well. “Something wrong?”

“Oh stop being paranoid come o-”

He fell into a hole covered up by a black carpet. I froze, my heart stopped. It felt like I couldn’t breathe. I was stuck there but I knew I had to call for help, but I couldn’t. Luckily, I was brought back to reality when I heard a notification from Kieran saying he and Cora had arrived and then Jaydon said “call 999” in a shaky voice “oh ok” I said.

I bolted down the stairs and bodied down the door with all my might. I saw Kieran and Cora standing at the door once they looked at me, they knew something was wrong.

“Something’s wrong isn’t it” they said in unison.

“It’s Jaydon, he’s hurt”. Their expressions turned from concern to pure terror (Cora is Jaydon’s sister). We ran up the creaky stairs and stopped at the top of the stairs when we all heard something. There was someone or something heavy breathing and then a sound like an alert. It went silent for a moment before all hell rained down.

It was as if there was a blinding light piercing into my eyes. I escaped to the room with Jaydon inside, I was scared, I was shocked, but I was determined to get Jaydon back.

“Jaydon!” I screamed. “Are you okay!”

“Yes, other than my sprained ankle, yes I’m fine” he said. “I’ll get you out of there! I replied.

I knew I had to help Kieran and Cora but I had to help Jaydon too. I quickly got Jaydon out of

there and let him sit down. I ran to help Cora and Kieran. In the corner of the room there was a spear, and I knew what I had to do. I ran out and the monster was on top of Cora with Kieran on top.

“Duck” I said and I drove the spear through the monster’s head. It was all over. It was all over.

We called 999 to get Jaydon into the hospital. When we got out of it felt like we had been in there for a little while, but we had been in there for 10 hours and all our parents were worried, and I promised my mum I would never go somewhere without telling her. Every so often I sometimes feel that piercing light in my eyes, as if the monster is watching me.

Scary Poem

On all hallows night

You’ll will be in for a fright

With a house

With a mouse

Some say you can hear weeps That will give you the creeps

Now settle down it’s a thrill Will the ghosts come for a kill It sounds very foul when the wolves howl the cauldrons bubble that’s when you know there’s trouble

Trick-or-treaters roam around and when the nights over they go home now we come to an end the spirits go home after the trick-or-treaters roam but we remember this night as a night of fright but the spirits will be back next All Hallows night.

Scary Derry

Everyone in Derry knows the old broken-down ship stranded on the mud banks of the Foyle. But not very many know what lies within it...

It might look spooky from a distance, but when you get inside, that’s when the real horror begins...

“What do you think happened to it?” said Teagan, kicking a Football Special bottle along the Bay Road. “My dad says it’s a ghost ship from the famine, back to get their revenge...”

“Wise up” said Caoimhe. “It was meant to be an Airbnb but they crashed it before they reached the Quay!”

“Maybe it’s just an old empty boat...” snapped Clodagh “and I’ll prove it.”

Before the twins could reply, Clodagh beelined in the direction of the river, skipping over the mud in what used to be shiny new Jordans.

As Clodagh gets closer and closer to the shipwreck, she realises that there is no entrance, so she speeds up and turns just before she hits the ship, so her side whams into it, making a big hole. Just about enough room for her to fit through.

As she climbs through the hole, she sees a gold coin covered floor. “Wow” she says to herself. The wooden walls are rotting away, and the floor creaked at every step she took. She could taste something that was dusty and dry.

Then she feels a gust of wind and the boat starts rocking

from side to side. Immediately, Clodagh runs up the dusty stairs, and one even breaks under her foot.

When she got to the deck, she saw an old man with dirty old hair and crooked teeth. She shouts at him. “What are you doing?” There was no reply. But the man takes a sharp turn, causing Clodagh to get knocked off her feet and on to the wooden deck. She winces as splinters of wood pierce her skin. She can hear cracking noises and then she falls.

Clodagh wakes up on the floor below, blood all over her clothes, splinters stuck in her skin. She gets up and looks in the hole she made to get in the ship. She can no longer see the Bay Road so she wonders to herself, “How long was I knocked out for?” Soon they are in the ocean and Clodagh nor the ship nor the old man were ever seen again.

The End.

A Scary Derry Story

One Halloween night in Kennedy Street, there were three children trick or treating. One of them was always curious on Halloween about why it was quiet and dark.

So, this Halloween she decided to leave her friends and investigate. At one point her friends weren’t looking and she left them without telling them. When she left them, she walked the whole way to Primark by herself. All she seen was blood. But when she is in Kennedy Street, she never sees blood. That was the odd thing. So, she kept on exploring all around our city of Derry. Her parents always call her investigator Lilly and so did her friends and teachers.

Suddenly she heard a scream. Ahh!!! So, she rushed to where

the scream came from. It came from the Guildhall. She was running so fast to find out what it was. When she got there all she seen was bones everywhere with blood as well.

Lilly went deeper into The Guildhall until she heard another sound upstairs. Lilly was not scared at all. She is a very brave child. At one point, she stopped because there was something coming closer and closer. It was a ....... werewolf!!!

But Lilly was still not scared at all. The werewolf was growling at Lilly. It JUMPED!!! Luckily Lilly jumped to the side quickly before the werewolf caught her. Lilly was starting a fight with the werewolf. The werewolf started to bite her, but Lilly kept on dodging the werewolf.

So, she started running away but a pack of werewolves jumped out from lots of different directions. They made a circle around her. But the werewolves never knew how smart Lilly was. Lilly had no sight of anyone to help her, not even her friends. But a few minutes later she saw people walking towards her. The people were Lilly’s friends.

Lilly was surprised, amazed and happy. Lilly thought of a solution in her mind. It was to use their friendship and connection with teamwork added on. Lilly and her friends tried the idea and it worked. All the werewolves disappeared. Then Lilly’s friends asked her what happened. All Lilly said was it’s a long story and I am sorry I left you. Lillys friends said it’s ok.

The Haunted Cinema

It was a cold winters night and my friends, and I decided to go the Strand Road Cinema to see the latest horror movie. We go often but on this night the place felt different.

It was cold and dark with a strange red light. The food counter was closed but we could still get our tickets. When we got our tickets, we went up the stairs and we heard a big bang.

Instead of the film starting a notice came on the screen saying DO NOT LOOK UNDER YOUR SEAT!! Emily being nosey, had to look under! Something grabbed her and pulled her in. We searched the whole place high and low, but to this day she has never been seen again.

In The Basement

So my name is Emily and I live in the Brandywell. One day I was going to the basement to read out. My mum always makes me read out the basement. I hate it. It is very dark down there and I hate darkness. But I did it anyway.

There is one thing I think is creepy there. It is a doll, and I don’t know its name but it has been down there for three years. Now every night I hear something. I know you are probably thinking it is just a doll. But trust me. It is creepy. I hear banging, stomping and laughing.

Anyway, I have these friends. I say I hear noises in the basement, and they just say you’re so dramatic. But the sounds are real.

I went to get a banana in the kitchen and there it was on the table. I ran to my mums and dads room. When I got there, they were murdered. I was crying” my parents are dead!” I ran to my friend Eimhear’s house. I knocked on the door frantically. She answered.

I said “My parents are dead!” She said “Do you want to go for a walk in the forest to calm down?”

I said “ok”.

We went to the forest. We were talking about sleepovers. Then, we heard a sound over by the tree. Eimhear went to check it out and I looked away for 1 minute and she was never found again.

The Zombie Outbreak

It’s the year 2050. In Derry City Hospital, the doctors were doing an experiment when there was a chemical leak. All the doctors got infected. They started to scream violently. Every second that passed, they started to turn greener and greener. But it was too late. They had turned into zombies.

Quickly, the whole hospital had gotten infected. The zombies went out into the road. There were no cars about because it was night-time. The zombies were walking towards the city. Little did they know disaster had struck.

It was turning morning now. There was a traffic jam. I, Sean, could hear this shouting in William Street. A woman would not get off the road. I ignored it and kept walking. When I looked again, a green

figure came out of the corner. With red stuff over his lips, I thought it was a bit early for Halloween.

Then the green figure started running towards her. I thought the man was ruthlessly hugging her. Then the green figure looked up at the drivers honking their horns. Blood, blood, blood everywhere all over her and the zombie. I stood there looking in awe.

Suddenly the pair started running towards the other drivers. Rushing towards them without mercy, jumping into their cars making quick work of them. I started running when I realized there was a zombie outbreak. I rushed over to tell Adam and Oisin about it. I knew exactly where they were, lighting fireworks in Brooke Park.

My friend Oisin told them about it, and we rushed inside.

Luckily, Adam’s house had a basement. Adam called his mum, but she was not picking up. That’s when I when I realized the lady on the street was Adam’s mum. I wanted to tell him, but he would be so depressed. I also phoned my parents, and they were okay.

Luckily, American doctors had found a cure, and they sent it over. The police started curing all the zombies. Everybody started reuniting with their families but they were running out of serums that made the cure.

Then the zombies started moving all over the world. But in much smaller numbers. It now was not looking too good! The zombies started getting smarter, fitter, faster, and stronger. This was now a global problem. The militaries were now getting involved and we were slowly twiddling down the zombies.

Adam’s mum still has not been cured. I was saying, she is out there somewhere.

Adam was starting to lose hope, when suddenly there was a knock on the door. Adam opened the door and there was his mum!

The Butler of London Street

The year was 2000. The time was 08:00. The date was the 31st of October.

Ron, Charlie, Bill and Jack had just finished trick or treating. They had been out that night with Bill’s older brother Michael. They were walking down London Street. Suddenly a light flickered in a window in the house at the end of the street. Thick blood trickled down the window. Dead silence fell upon the friends.

In the distance a child screamed. Curiosity took over them. They went to the door. Nervously, each of them waited for the other one to knock. Suddenly, Jack spoke up, “I have heard a legend that ghosts haunt this house.” He shivered as he spoke. The children agreed, they had all heard the tale of the Butler of London Street who murdered the O’Connor Family.

“Don’t be such a scaredy cat Jack. You say that about everywhere we go,” said Charlie, with a smirky grin on his face.

Usually, they would all get together and begin to laugh at scaredy cat jack. But not this time. There wasn’t any giggles or smirks to be seen from anyone other than Charlie’s. Bill reached up with his hand and leaned out towards the door. But even Bill who they all classified as the smartest and bravest amongst the group was terrified and was trembling within himself. He trembled so much that his hand only made it part of the way to the handle, and it dropped down faintly towards his side. Bill and the others were all petrified of what was inside.

Then from the back of the group stood Ron. He stepped in amongst and said, “Go on Bill,

you got this. You’re the bravest and we are all here with you.” Ron was shaking that much as he stepped forward, his body shook from head to toe. Everyone turned their heads sharply at Ron, they all felt the same way but didn’t want to say it as they all had hoped for the same that Bill would just go ahead and do it.

Everyone in the group thought that Bill had the guts to do this. But as this happened, Bill turned to the group and moved swiftly over to Charlie. “Charlie you’re the oldest, gone ahead , you go do it. Like Ron said, we are all here with you.”

Charlie did not know where to look or how to respond to this. He was wishing to be back at home, never mind opening the door to this house. Charlie threw up in his mouth.“Jack you’re the fastest, gone ahead, we are all here with you.”

This went on in circles. For a few minutes, none of the boys seemed to be willing to take those final steps up to the door and open it. Bill said, “Okay boys let’s have a game of rock, paper, scissors. That will help us decide who must do it. Whoever loses must open this door.”

“Ok, well that’s it settled, it’s all down to you Jack,” said Bill.

There was silence like they had never heard before. It was that quiet that it made this situation even more scary and eerie. Jack stepped up to the door, put his hand firmly on the handle, and he pushed down on it and the door creaked open with a wailing sound. They all took a step into the house. All the boys stood still as if they were frozen to the spot. A candle dropped from the upper floor and rolled down the stairs leading to the entrance.

The candle began to dance and move about the floor in front of their feet. As this happened the door slammed. BANG!

The lights all went out. They could only navigate by using their voices. As they whispered amongst themselves, they could hear loud, deep and steady foot steps make their way towards them over the old, crooked floorboards.

Bill closed his eyes, “Right guys I’ll count down from 10, once I reach one, we turn around and dive for the door.” The boys all nodded their heads in the darkness.

“10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,” he took another breath, “1”

They closed their eyes, opened the door and shut the door behind them. They boys turned all at once, the door was gone. All that lay before them was a brick wall and nowhere to turn. Charlie could feel a cold chill in the air as if there was something or someone breathing down his neck. Charlie screamed and ran away from the group. His scream scared everyone else so they all scattered as

the footprints got louder. Each of them could hear the heavy breathing now as if it was right next to each of them. They all backed themselves into the four corners of the room.

The lights turned on with a bright beam coming from the end of the hallway. In the beam there was a shadow of a man. It moved closer to them they all shouted in absolute panic. The figure made its way to the edge of the room, and it was able to see each of the boys within his sight. It was the Butler of London Street.

The shadow yelled “Goodnight and Goodbye.”

The lights disappeared again, there were screams, wails and cries that woke everyone in the street. The four boys were never seen again and when the neighbours and police arrived there was no trace of what happened to those boys on that Halloween night back in 2000.

Scary Poem

I walked to the closet, Creeping with fright, It was 11 O’clock, nearly midnight. I opened the wardrobe, After seeing a light. The floor made a creek, On my way to seek... Down my body went a chill, With this horrifying thrill. I looked in the closet, And made a blood curling scream. Although the monster was scary, It was just a dream!

How to Raise the Dead on All Hallows Eve

Not too long ago, last Halloween, there was a sad little boy sitting on a bench - an old dirty bench. The reason why he was so sad was because he got very little candy and his costume was pretty bad. So that is why he was sitting sad on that old bench.

But, behind that old bench was a tree and behind that tree was an old lady who sort of looked like a witch! And that witch or old lady handed him a book called “How to Raise the Dead”. So the little boy said “thanks... I think”. Then he ran back home and started to read and read the book.

It told him where he had to go to and what he needed to do. The place he had to go to is

called Derry City Cemetery and the things he needed consisted of a witche’s fingernail, a dragon’s scale, a mummys hand, a goblin’s tale and three candy corn.

He started to travel around Ireland looking for the ingredients he needed. He did some research online to find the graveyard and found out it is located in Derry. So he went with his Uncle Meeks from his home in Scotland to Derry.

After they looked all around Scotland and Wales until a month before Halloween when they set up the lab in a dingy apartment near the City Cemetery.

On Halloween night they

began the spell with what the book said... to say the words “scary creatures of the night I beseech you” while mixing all the ingredients in a huge cauldron. All of the sudden all the tombstones were struck by lightning, one after another... bang-boom-bang!!!

Skeletons, zombies, ghosts, bats, witches and creatures of the night broke from the cemetery grounds and swirled in the sky over Derry.

“What is our first task, sir?”

asked the creatures. “Go trick or treating and get me lots of candy! They won’t doubt your costumes because you’re the REAL THING!”

The end or is it?

The Hangman’s Ghost

Once there were two girls called Luna and Lucy. They lived with their mammy. They recently moved house but the moving van with all their stuff in it was going to be late, so they bought some air mattresses so that they didn’t have to sleep on the floor.

They entered the house and Luna whispered to Lucy ‘Let’s go up and see our new room’. ‘Yeah!’ replied Lucy and they ran up to their room excitedly.

‘Wow it’s so big,’ said Lucy. But their mammy shouted upstairs ‘Girls come down here look what I found in the living room!’ They ran downstairs saying ‘what is it mammy?’.

When they walked into the living room, they saw a massive statue of a man with a baggy coat on. Luna said, ‘that’s kind of creepy’, but her

mammy said ‘well its already eight o’clock so can you go get your pyjamas on please’. ‘Okay’ they moaned, and they went up to their room.

While they were up in their room, they heard a strange noise. It sounded like a moan of some sort, they thought it was coming from their wardrobe, so they opened it. But there was nothing there and then Luna said, ‘well that was weird.’

‘Yeah” agreed Lucy. But they ignored it thinking it was just some old pipe.

They had some supper, brushed their teeth and went up to bed. ‘Night’ called mammy. ‘Night’ called Luna and Lucy together and they closed their eyes and went to sleep.

But in the middle of the night, Luna wakened after hearing the

same moan, then woke Lucy. ‘Uuugh’ moaned Lucy when she finally woke up.

‘I heard the same moan’ Lucy said. ‘Let’s look in the wardrobe to see if there is anything there’.

‘Okay’ said Luna.

They crept over and when they opened the door they saw the ghost of a man, but when they tried to get a closer look by turning on the light, suddenly he vanished.

They woke up the next day and their mammy announced, ‘We’re going a walk around the walls’. ‘Yay’ Luna cheered, and they left.

They got halfway there and then Lucy said, ‘Wait I see a picture of that thing we saw in our room’. They read the sign, and it turns out what they saw in their room, was the ghost of a man that died by accidentally hanging himself trying to escape the siege.

When they got home it was eight o’clock so they went to bed. They saw the man

again, but this time they were prepared. They got an iron bar to see if it killed the ghost or maybe it would send it to heaven. They crept over slowly and...boom! They whacked him on his ghostly head and suddenly he vanished.

Luna said ‘well that was scary I’m glad he’s gone’.

‘Yeah me too’ Lucy said.

From then on they were going to be ghost free, or were they?

The end... maybe...

Scary Derry Story

One Friday afternoon in Fountain Primary School, P5/6/7 were going on a trip to the Guildhall to do activities with Long Tower Primary School. They got their coats and hi-vis jackets then headed down to meet Long Tower.

Mr. Torney led them down to the Guildhall. When they got to the Guildhall, this man greeted them and led them into this room full of Halloween decorations. All the children sat down on the wooden floor. The teachers put the children in groups. They all ran off in their groups to an activity station.

All the pupils were working at a station with their groups when they heard the noise of zombies. They all screamed. “THERE’S THE ZOMBIES,”

said the little girl. They all ran for their lives out of the Guildhall.

Mr. Torney said we’re going to run up to The Diamond to see if the zombies are still chasing us. “Okay,” replied all the pupils. When they were close to The Diamond they were all puffed. Mr. Torney told them ‘Keep running. We’re nearly there. They arrived up to The Diamond. They all stopped and saw that the zombies were still chasing them.

So, they started running again up near Bishop Street then turned a corner that led them up to St Columb’s Cathedral. They all ran under the arch and up to school to get zombie spray to defend them.

Mr. Torney ran up to the classroom to get the spray. When he got the spray kit he ran to the staff room to make the zombie spray. He added water, sugar and the liquid that came in the spray kit. When he made the spray, he ran back to the class to tell the pupils to stay in the classroom.

Mr. Torney put on gloves and a suit and ran down the stairs to the zombies. Mr. Torney sprayed the spray at the zombies and they all disappeared in two seconds. Mr. Torney ran back up to the class and told all the children that it’s safe outside now! They all cheered and shouted, “MR TORNEY SAVED THE DAY HOORAY!!”
