Porcelain Veneers
What Is a Porcelain Veneer? When you don’t like the appearance of your teeth, give our office a call to learn more about the different types of restorations available. Porcelain veneers are one of the most popular restorations for the damaged or discolored teeth toward the front of your mouth, and we often recommend these to improve your smile. Porcelain veneers are thin and lightweight restorations that are customized to match the rest of your teeth precisely so that they are not noticeably different from your other teeth.
Where Are Porcelain Veneers Placed? A veneer is attached to the front of a tooth that shows when you speak or smile, but it is only applied to a tooth that is in good condition. If you have extensive decay or damage to a tooth, then our dentist will suggest other types of restorations. To ensure that a veneer looks its best, it is a good idea to have your teeth whitened first. Porcelain veneers are designed to last for many years, but you will want the restorations to look natural, and by having your teeth whitened, your entire smile will look better.
How Porcelain Veneers Are Made First, you must have a dental examination to determine if your teeth and gums are healthy. We will then use medical imaging software to measure your teeth. We will also create molds of your teeth, which are sent to a dental laboratory where a technician designs your veneers.
