Born in Port-au-Prince Haiti, I am a passionatre designer based in Miami, FL. I get inspiration from all elements in my surroundings to generate work that goes beyond expectations. I have been practicing architecture and design since my adolescence and never stopped improving my skills since. Inaugurated in 2022, the three-acre park, located between the 600 and 700 blocks of Alton Road, includes open green-spaces shaded by native tree species subdivided into a botanical garden, dog park, fitness area, event lawn, art pavilion and kids zone designed by Monstrum, and public art displays. Canopy Park connects to the South of Fifth neighborhood and the Miami Beach baywalk via a new pedestrian bridge over I-395 that will create a safe and seamless connection running from South Pointe Park north to the Lincoln Road District and east to the beachfront.

The design of the project coincided with the completion of the ULI and Harvard research reports relating to the issue of sea level rise. This project is intended to show how resilient a community Miami Beach can be. The park itself becomes that example, with Landscape Architecture as a green resiliency solution.

Canopy Park includes a flood protection basin, a native planting palette, berms, green roofs and a pedestrian bridge which will be very important for Miami Beach in the future. This park will be the most resilient project ever built in a coastal community anywhere up and down the eastern or western seaboards.

Inspired by the fluid movement of the surrounding water, and the bright vibrancy of Miami Beach, the two ideas fuse together to create the conceptual site plan- meandering paths in pops of pink create moments of congregation and contemplation through the journey within the park.

As one of the most resilient parks ever designed, the landscape is a multi-functional ecosystem that collects stormwater and coastal flooding, mitigating flooding of the surrounding neighborhood, and slowly recharging the groundwater table.

After input from the City of Miami Beach and the developer, the design evolved to the current state- a blend of various outdoor spaces, called Living Rooms, that can house a variety of programs, such as large gatherings, play areas, fitness, pets, and art- all surrounded with mature trees that provide shade from the intense summer sun, and integrated water management to combat flooding and storm surge.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation sought to provide additional classrooms and teaching facilities to support their mission for educating the public around the events of the Holocaust.

South Florida is home to one of the largest populations of Holocaust survivors. The expansion creates additional space to support the influx of visitors to the Memorial, and extends the vision of the original design. The new landscape design envelopes the new building with layers of plantings, and authentic materials such as giant blocks of Jerusalem stone imported from Israel- true to the original designer’s intent.

The organic forms of the landscape seek to break the strong circular forms of the building from the streetscape. A new plaza anchors the corner of Dade and Meridian, creating a front entrance for the new building and a place for gathering.

Inspired by a local homeowner who was struggling with the effects of pollution in the bay, this project seeks to address and mediate the environmental impacts of development alongside Biscayne Bay.

Implementing sustainable landscape and biodiversity, the solution presents a holistic approach to design that allows residents to enjoy the water in a sustainable and respectful way.

Context and Existing Conditions explore the habitats of the bay and conditions affecting them.

As a soultion to the persistent runoff from the golf courses and recreational areas adjacent to the bay, a proposed vegetative filter strip would serve as a filter to address runoff prior to entering the bay.

Reintroduction of mangroves on the shore will allow for biodiversity and provide resiliency against storms. The mussel farms naturally filter the water and introduce new habitats for fish and marine life. New walkways allow for people to engage with the water and coastline in a respectful way.

Design details of the vegatative strip surrounding the golf course and mangrove/ mussel farm coastline.

A new pedestrian path integrated into the mangroves allows connection to nature while preserving the shallow water for marine life.

This project explores the application of Relational Architecture, a term created by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, to describe a particular form of arm that involves architecture, where interaction is an essential part of the process of creation.

How can relational design stimulate curiosity and build new relationships through landscape architecture?

The essential elements of landscape architecturegathering spaces, outdoor safety, sensory elements, sustainable and resilient planting palettes, are combined to create an oasis of a unique human experience in the center of the urban jungle.

The project studies Government Center in downtown Miami. As a parallel to the adjacent train station, the design creates an opportunity for pedestrians to “stop” and have their senses stimulated through a variety of elements in the landscape.

Throughout the seasons, a variety of landscape will be activated in different combinations of foliage that provide varying effects on the sensory experience, from visual, to smell and touch.
