ACC cosmetology/hairdressing course gets underway in August

ENFIELD—Asnuntuck Community College is offering a 54-week cosmetology (hairdressing) program that begins Aug. 21.

The program offers small class sizes offering students personal attention from instructors.

Students receive training in both theory and practical experience which prepares them to take the Connecticut State Board examination.

To obtain a license in Connecticut, students must successfully complete 1,500 hours in hairdressing and cosmetology education, as well as pass the state of Connecticut exam.

Asnuntuck’s program includes 200 hours of classroom instruction and 1,300 hours of clinical instruction which trains students to provide a wide variety of services including cuts, highlights, color, and blowouts.

Students can apply for Massachusetts Cosmetology licensure after earning licensure in Connecticut.
