education through exploration feeds spontaneous and natural growth, and provides the soul with a deeper, more enriched connection to self and surroundings. this exploration is achieved at finger’s tip. be it pen to paper, thread to fabric, or lens to light. a continued and curious inquisition into both inner thought and the banality of daily life opens the imagination to endless possibilities where not seen before.

reclaimed, dried wood provides practical decor mounting and is a nod to the importance of sustainability.
the placement of body in space challenges the use of stairs on rock beyond. confusion in composition gives pause.

3. a blind drawing allows one to focus on the limitations of specific senses and the reliance on harmony.
the placement of both pieces on crumpled muslin, with oversized pushpins, challenges the size of works involved, albeit large in size.
this creation began with the jumpsuit. the challenge lay in constructing a fitted form which would agree with the movement of a body. lit from within, the hat became a focal point and accentuates the sculptural quality. the collar, made of black fringe, helps emphasize movement.
symmetry and materiality are challenged when the familiar treatment of plaster and the unfamiliar application of laser cut board are combined to create tonal plains of texture.
7. this eight meter chronicle of sketches explores multiple forms using charcoal. shadow is amplified to enhance the facial profiles that arise from a squiggle.
from a large canvas, and the mixing of two colours, the distant silhouette of a cityscape appeared.

a selfie it may be, but composition is key. the natural shape and fluidity of the human body juxtaposed against the linear features found in the landscape create calm introspection.

in every journey the question of ego is at hand. a sense of self is apparent when the lens is properly focused. freedom, imagination and exploration allow that sense of self to surface.
