the house occurred. A neighbor discovered it when water began to run across their driveway and they called the city. The city then called Arnold who found the problem and fixed it. Although the renter is responsible for the bill, not Arnold, he agreed to take on the council and help out his
renter. According to Arnold, the problem is not the portion of the bill that is for water only, $1,200. He told council members he will pay for that part. But he is not willing to pay for the sewer portion since the water never entered the city’s system. (Continued on A - 10)

Paint Lick Group Home Murderer Denied Shock Probation The 21-year-old employee of a Paint Lick group home for the mentally and intellectually impaired, convicted of murder and abuse of a resident in June 2011, was denied shock probation in a hearing last Friday morning. Garrard County authorities were able to apprehend two inmates who walked away from the Blackburn Correctional Complex in Fayette County last week. Last week the escapees plead not guilty to the charges of escape via video conference from the Lincoln County Detention Center, however more charges, of burglary, have since been placed on the men. Christopher Melton and Tyler Roberts both made a plea of not guilty to the charges of first-degree escape via video arraignment last Wednesday morning. Lexington Police later charged the duo with burglary, breaking into a home on Spurr Road, in Lexington, to steal clothes. Police say
