The first step towards Industry 4.0 is access to data. By installing sensors and instruments, data sources are established and we can build our knowledge about the state of operation.

The process requires a total reassessment of established routines; barriers and proprietary solutions need to be replaced with standardized and open technologies for data exchange.

Thus; the only requirement for performing control, monitoring, reporting and analysis from anywhere, is connectivity and a display that includes web browser. No requirements for plug-ins or add-ons!

Furthermore; our functions blocks, HMI pictures & graphics and alarm management system are based on international industrial standards (IEC, ISO & ISA). Our solutions facilitate use of the Industry 4.o concept and the ISA-95 standard.

by Ecco it Industrial automation begins with the introduction of sensors and instruments.

These communicate status and on command, change the operational parameters.

They are also the source of all data. We equip the process or machine with the required sensors and controllers.

Real-time performance and condition are expressed and collected by an industrial controller and analyzed by our PLC program. The process data is presented on a PC server / monitor via our HMI program, and from this operator station the necessary commands are given. By connecting a selection of commands and creating conditions, an automated sequence is established. By such sequences, complete tasks are performed by a single command and not by hundreds of keystrokes.

The simple machine is transformed to a robot. Our use of the data exchange standard OPC UA facilitates the integration of several systems into one common control system. All systems controlled and monitored through a common communication network, avoiding collections of separate monitors and networks.

Secure data and information exchange between devices and services has become one of the most important elements introduced by Industrial Internet of Things. Conducting a simulation on a digital twin (virtual model) allows the operator to virtually “see” how the real process would operate. This reduces risk and improves process understanding.

History in brief Our team includes people who participated when the first PLC was installed in Norway in 1972. Since then we have mainly been involved with the oil & gas industry, and a large amount of process understanding has been aquired. We are continually looking for developments and solutions that creates synergies through simplification. We have provided control systems and services to more than 150 plants and all of these solutions are based on standardized and open technologies.
