Fast fit loses business to independent over ‘dodgy’ bill FAST fits often make the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Here, we have an invoice from a renowned fast fit listing work carried out on a 2001 Nissan Micra. A GW reader, who has asked to remain anonymous, sent us a copy of the invoice after a new customer of his enquired about their recent experience with the fast fit. “It's riddled with inaccuracies and extortion,” the independent garage owner told us. “For example, two wheel cylinders, cast iron type, we would pay roughly £8 each NET in the trade and we use the same suppliers but on their invoice it’s £135 plus VAT. “Example two, front discs, non-vented,

I know all our new CV joint kits come with them in. “I’ve had 38 years in the trade and as a much respected business carrying out high end maintenance, diagnostics and tuning/ remapping, we’ve been in business for 27 years. “That’s built on utmost quality, trust and passion. “Making money on parts and labour and making sure we make enough to live is fine but at the same time we give the customer a good deal. “This job of over £720 lost them a customer and any family links they may have but they’ve gained us a new client base. “Their loss.”
