Найскладнішим у Сєвєродонецьку було налагодження співпраці з владою. Місцеві жартували, що не знають, хто тепер у їхньому місті мер. Усередині проекту ми зрозуміли, що налагоджений півроку тому контакт із мерією вже не дійсний, оскільки управлінці міста змінилися. Нам довелося розраховувати на окремих людей в міській раді, як, наприклад, Світлана Ульянова з відділу культури, та небайдужих містян. Такі люди здатні стримувати пустелю.
The biggest challenge in Sieverodonetsk was the cooperation with the authorities. The locals joked that they don’t know who is the mayor of their city now. Midway, we realized that the negotiations we had made with the municipality six months ago were no longer valid, because the management of the city had changed. We had to rely on few people in the City Council, like, for example, Svitlana Ulianova from the Culture Department, and on some concerned citizens. People like that can restrain the desert.
Локалізація в дворику була для нас новим досвідом. В іншим містах ми працювали на широку громаду. Як виявилося, свято двору не поступалося подіям міського масштабу, а навпаки створило душевну атмосферу між людьми, котрі живуть поруч. Ми віримо, коли з’являються простори, де люди затримуються для відпочинку та спілкування, виникає довіра, дружба та нові ідеї.
Localization in the courtyard was a new experience for us. In the other cities, we worked for bigger communities. As it turned out, the courtyard holiday was not inferior to citywide events, but rather created a peaceful atmosphere between the people who live nearby. We believe that when there’s a space where people linger for recreation and communication, there will be trust, friendship, and new ideas.
