EARLY LITERACY EVENTS

BABY STORYTIME*

Bond with your baby through books, bouncy rhymes, and songs in this baby storytime that introduces early literacy skills and encourages language development. This program is designed for newborns to pre-walkers.

BINGO: PRESCHOOL EDITION

THE ALPHABET & BEGINNING SOUNDS*

Play a fun and interactive game of beginner’s BINGO to build children’s early literacy skills and get ready to read. This early learning program encourages children to develop and enhance their early literacy skills such as phonological awareness, print awareness, letter knowledge, print motivation, and vocabulary. For children ages 2 - 5 and their families.

JOURNEY TO OUTER SPACE: AN EARLY LITERACY ADVENTURE*

Practice developing early literacy skills with crafts, hands-on activities, and snacks. A fun, space-themed program for children ages 2 - 5 and their families.

BLUE HOUSE MUSIC

CONNECTING MUSIC & EARLY LITERACY*

Explore natural connections between language and music through singing and storytelling during this music and early literacy workshop. Blue House Music is a program for caregivers and children ages birth - 5 years old that encourages healthy development through meaningful experiences.

DIY STORYTIME

Practice reading and playing together at your own pace. This do-it-yourself early literacy program includes themed books, props, and activities for you to create a unique storytime experience with your baby, toddler, or preschooler.

Come ready to create and snack. Teen Kitchen Throwdown is a monthly program where Delgado Culinary Arts Department chefs share their knowledge on snack and dessert creation and career exploration into culinary arts. Teens will leave each program with new skills and their delicious work. This program is for teen patrons ages 11 - 18.

SHRED DAY WITH AARP

Combat identity theft & fraud by shredding your documents on Shred Day. Bring up to three boxes or bags of documents to be shredded onsite by a professional shred company. Let’s fight fraud together. Suggested items include bank statements, canceled checks, credit card junk mail, and receipts with sensitive information. For those driving through, please enter the parking lot at the Lake Forest entrance.
