BEAUTY
WORDS Chloe Coxshall
Waibel graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2013 and it can take her 10 hours to make one dress. Last year, Waibel created 25 Tyvek dresses for Bershka.
You may have seen Tatehana’s designs but didn’t know who they belonged to as he is fast bcoming a celebrity favourite.
Known for her origami dresses, German designer, Jule Waibel, has some interesting designs made by folding and pleating different materials including paper.
Her latest collection consists of chiffon dresses that expand and contract as the wearer moves. They are made using steam press templates which allows Waibel to use softer materials that make the dresses more comfortable.
Tatehana was also involved in the development of “heels without heels”. This new form of shoe has inspired many of Tatehana’s creations, including the “lady pointe shoes” for Lady Gaga. All of Tatehana’s shoes are handcrafted by him and draw attention from both the fashion industry and the art world.
GARETH
You might recognise her name from Rihanna’s fashion design programme, ‘Styled to Rock’. During the competition, fashion graduate and fashion house assistant, Zainab Vandu-Chikolo designed for many celebrities including Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters who was one of many pop artists who chose to wear her designs.
Gareth Pugh isn’t completely unknown but this will be his break through year. Pugh began his career in fashion aged 14 as a costume designer for the English National Youth Theatre.
Her talented bead-work and knitting led her to win the competition in 2012 with Rihanna wearing her winning creation at the Wireless Festival. Vandu- Chikolo is now working for a British luxury fashion house and is currently looking for a partner to release a collection with.
Many of Pugh’s creations are inspired by the Tudors and Stuarts. Many of his dark and creative collections have featured in Vogue and London Fashion Week.

With the warm weather approaching, now is the time to have a chance, get inspired and get ready for the Summer. Local professional makeup artist, Charlotte Easton offers her best tips on how to get a fresh new look. This time of year is ideal to try some of the new exciting makeup trends. One of my personal favourites is festival inspired beauty seen in the Dries Van Norton, Elie Saab, Anthony Vaccarello and Narchesca fashion runway shows for Spring/Summer 2015. To get the look, dare to be bold in your eye shadow choices. Diego della Palma, offers some beautiful vibrant colours, For this look I used the pink colour to contrast the aqua turquoise (which, by the way, is a flattering eye colour on almost everyone) really
pressing the eye shadow down with a flat shader brush in three layers to gradually get the desired intensity. Sandwiching layers of eye shadow in this way also helps the longevity of the colour throughout the day. When using bright eye shadows during the day, I prefer to keep the lips simple. For this look I used an Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in the colour "Divine", patting it onto Cara's lips for a nice natural finish. Fuller brows were also an important fashion trend this year as seen on the Saint Laurent show. Fill in any sparse areas of your brows using a thin pencil to mimic natural brow hairs. My favourite is Clinique's Superline Liner as it creates such a natural finish. Be sure to set your brows in place using a little bit of setting products such as Illamasqua's Brow Gel.
