HARRISON GILMAN ARTIST BIO:
Harrison Gilman is based in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Filmmaking, a minor in Art History, and a minor in the Business of Entertainment. While attending film school, Harrison began to paint. By the time he graduated, Gilman was accepted into his first group show and had committed to being a painter
Gilman’s work was first displayed in the 2018 We Rise Art Fair in Los Angeles alongside Shepard Fairey and other prominent LA artists. The following year, Gilman had his first solo show at Galerie Tangerine in Nashville, TN. Since then, Gilman has had three solo shows and various group shows, as well as a series of live painting events. Gilman’s art is currently on display at Artspace Warehouse and Playpen Studios in Los Angeles, California, and can be found in private collections in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, Scottsdale, Toronto, and the UK.

ARTIST STATEMENT: NOTHING IS SET IN STONE (QUITE YET)
My paintings are landscapes and portraits of my subconscious. Visual representations of my subatomic particles, my dark matter.
I paint because it helps me see these things buried beneath the surface of my mind. It’s so easy to get caught up in the material world and all the distractions and what we think we’re feeling and what we should be feeling versus whatever is actually going on... Painting takes me back to the source.
My paintings are manifestations of myself, my experiences, sensations, and basically every little thing. They’re more accurate than a mirror.
