« Comme vous, j’ai vécu cette période de confinement, en tant qu’homme mais également en tant qu’artiste. J’ai eu le temps de réfléchir au sens que je souhaite donner à mon art. Au travers de mes sculptures, je veux transformer l’éphémère en éternel: les roses, les couleurs, les souvenirs, tous ces objets de notre quotidien que l’on chérit l’espace d’un instant, que tout cela puisse avoir une vie éternelle, figé dans un écrin intemporel fabriqué de mes mains. Ce confinement, difficile mais essentiel, n’a fait que renforcer ma volonté de figer le temps avant qu’il ne nous file entre les doigts, de créer une nouvelle éternité. UNLOCKED PARADISE fait référence à ce jour du 11 mai 2020 où comme vous tous, j’ai retrouvé ma liberté. Depuis, je donne toute mon énergie artistique dans de nouvelles créations que j’aurai plaisir à vous présenter pour mon exposition en ligne mercredi 20 mai 2020. »
« I have been living this period of quarantine, the same way you have, as a man but also as an artist. I had time to reflect on the meaning I wish to give to my art. Through my sculptures, I want to transform the ephemeral into the eternal : roses, colours, memories, all those objects of our everyday life that we cherish for an instant, that all this can have eternal life, frozen in a timeless case made by my hands. This difficult but essential lockdown only strengthened my will to freeze time before it slips through our fingers, to create a new eternity. UNLOCKED PARADISE refers to that day of May 11, 2020 when, like all of you, I regained my freedom. Since then, I have been giving all my artistic energy in new creations that I will be pleased to present to you for my online exhibition on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. »

À P RO P O S DE F R E D A L L A R D Artiste Sculpteur, Nice Fred Allard, iconoclaste et intemporel, est un nouvel acteur sur la scène internationale de l’art contemporain. Créateur d’un laboratoire de mode il y a plusieurs années, il garde de ce milieu une empreinte, une culture, un enthousiasme, qu’il utilise comme base de réflexion dans son travail d’artiste. Ses « Shopping Bag s» sont sa signature et nous interpellent par leur identité propre : une onde de chic poétique et charismatique impossible à dupliquer. Ses sculptures figent les codes de la rue et du luxe, qui se mélangent et s’opposent, pour ne former au final qu’une seule et même entité. Cristallisés à la main au sein d’une matière translucide, ces symboles représentatifs de notre société, aux couleurs vives et éclatantes, semblent devoir vivre ensemble pour le reste de l’éternité. Le geste expressif et teinté d’esthétique punk de Fred Allard marque la sincérité de son travail qui est une perpétuelle recherche d’équilibre, entre contenant et contenu, entre surface et profondeur, entre apparence et intériorité. Pénétrant ainsi le territoire de l’intime, Fred Allard « vide son sac » et nous dévoile à travers la transparence de ses oeuvres l’intimité de son monde.
ABOUT FRED ALLARD Sculptor Artist, Nice
Fred Allard, whose iconic and timeless creations, enable him to be a major player in the international contemporary art scene. Creator of a fashion laboratory several years ago, he keeps from this environment a mark, a culture, an enthusiasm, which he uses as a basis for reflection in his work as an artist. His « Shopping Bags » are his key signature style and they challenge us with their own identity: a wave of poetic and charismatic chic that is impossible to duplicate. His sculptures are a fusion of street art style and of luxury statement, which traditionally are known to be poles apart, however, Fred combines these two styles into one entity. Hand-crystallized in a translucent material, with bright and vivid colours, these symbols representative of our society seem to have to live together for the rest of eternity. Fred Allard’s expressive gesture, tinged with punk aesthetics, marks the sincerity of his work, which is a perpetual search for balance, between container and content, between surface and depth, between appearance and interiority. Penetrating the territory of intimacy, Fred Allard « empties his bag » and reveals to us through the transparency of his artworks the intimacy of his world.

COVERING BAG Dans la continuité de son travail Fred Allard se réapproprie les sacs des plus grandes marques. Il intègre son âme artistique dans le produit même, imprégnant le papier de ses couleurs et de ses brillances. Chaque sac est unique, repensé et remodelé par l’artiste, apportant une nouvelle touche de « jamais-vu ». In the continuity of his work Fred Allard reappropriates the bags of the biggest brands. He integrates his artistic soul into the product itself, infusing the paper with its colours and brilliance. Each bag is unique, re-thought and re-shaped by the artist, bringing a new touch of « never before seen ».

En sculptant ses pièces, il parvient à conserver son style, ses sacs et ses symboles pop, seulement entièrement réimaginés. Une oeuvre intime, personnelle, envoûtante, si évocatrice qu’on y sent presque son parfum. After having mastered the bags, Fred has drawn on his inspiration to evolve, change, create, and to plunge back into the intimacy of his art. The Natures Gold are the result of this desire to innovate, to rediscover an intoxicating object and to transform it. By sculpting his pieces, he manages to preserve his style, his bags and his pop symbols, only to completely re-imagine them. VIDE TON SAC La collection « Vide ton sac » est la continuité́ naturelle du travail de Fred Allard : l’artiste se rapproche d’une personnalité qui consent à se dévoiler en divulguant quelques-uns de ses objets fétiches. Fred Allard les organise alors, les compose et les fige dans des inclusions de résine. Les objets personnels ainsi cristallisés se muent alors en œuvres, véritables portraits figés, comme des photographies intimes des grands de ce monde. Vider son sac, en dévoiler sa substance et en abandonner le contenu, amène à la confiance et à la confidence. Le sac à main est bien d’avantage qu’un signe extérieur ou un accessoire de mode : il est aussi un objet personnel, hermétique et intime. The collection « Vide ton sac » is the natural extension of Fred Allard’s work : the artist gets closer to a personality who agrees to reveal himself by revealing some of his fetish objects. Fred Allard then organizes them, composes them and freezes them in resin inclusions. The personal objects crystallized in this way are then transformed into artworks of art, real frozen portraits, like intimate photographies of the greats of this world. Emptying one’s bag, revealing its substance and abandoning its contents, leads to trust and confidence. The handbag is much more than an external sign or a fashion accessory : it is at the same time a personal object and an intimate piece.
