MEET THE ARTIST

Joanna Pottle has been creating pottery since 2003 and is located above Lester Trophies at 244 Duke St west Saint John

Joanna has created a flower bowl designed with a water etched pattern Once the piece is made, trimmed and dry she uses an artist medium to paint on the design When the resist is dry she then washed the pot with a wet sponge to reveal the pattern. It is then fired to 1200 degrees Celsius with a transparent glaze.

She has created three patterns, tall grass, horse chestnut and sand wave. Joanna’s work is inspired by nature and simple elegant forms.

“I am constantly learning about life and my place in it through the tactile expression of clay. Being close to the Bay of Fundy and the St. John river is my main source of inspiration. Life can be hectic and I enjoy the serenity of the outdoors. I hope my work portrays that sense of calm

There are three unique bowl designs specifically created for our collaboration to make this year ' s Mother's Day gift unforgettable and special.
