(ESP: La Materialización del Recuerdo)
The Materialization of the memory: LUM, the place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion in response to the Nation's scar of the civil armed conflict.
Yuyanapaq means in Quechua "not to forget". After the final report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (2008), it is clear that the era of terrorism in Peru left social wounds that have not yet been healed. However, at present, the depth of these facts is unknown, since Lima suffered less than other parts of Peruvian territory. In this fight against forgetting, rather than remembering our national reality demands a greater goal from these memorials: reconciliation. How can space become a conciliatory link between past and present? This question will be answered in the study of the cases of the "Eye that Cries" and the recently constructed "LUM: Place of Memory" the memorials that Lima, the other country, presents as a conciliatory proposal.
