ABOUT GABBY

Hi, I am Gabby!

I am a professionally trained interior designer, originally from Orlando, Florida. Currently based out of Miami, FL. I had the pleasure of attending Virginia Tech for my undergraduate studies in Interior Design.

Upon graduation, I found myself traveling further north and accepted an offer to work in the hospitality industry in New York City. I have always taken a particular interest in hospitality interiors, and hope to continue to pursue my career in this field that allows me to create beautiful spaces for others to enjoy. I hope to inspire others with my passion for innovative and sustainable design, and to make a direct impact on everyone who passes through the spaces I am fortunate enough to create.

I believe that inspiration can be drawn out from anywhere and that design should be integrated into our daily lives. I pride myself on creating my best design ideas in an environment that fosters creativity, inspiration and exploration.

I am driven by the belief that good design is transcendent, and one should not limit themselves to one discipline, but rather be driven as a designer by creativity in all passions. From this belief, I strive to promote a seamless integration between high-quality design and the needs of the client and their users.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Visual Comfort & Co., Lighting Specialist

August 2021 - Present / Miami, FL

Responsible for hosting and facilitating client meetings in lieu of Interior Designers for interior decorative, exterior and architectural lighting and assisting both design and retail clients with selections for decorative and architectural lighting based on project needs and constraints including architectural elements and budget. Facilitating quotes, orders, returns, replacements and aiding with problem resolutions for clients. Responsible for maintaining client communication and retention. Working closely with in-house lighting designers to provide architectural lighting packages to clients. Duties include: proposing this service to both trade and retail clients, project managing, being the direct channel of communication from client to Architectural Lighting Designers, facilitating the quote and order completion. Responsible for being on-site for local 3PL Deliveries for projects to accept and inspect merchandise on behalf of our trade clients. Collaboration with the showroom team to achieve sales goals.

Contract Interior Designer

August 2022 - July 2023 / Remote

Worked independently on interior design projects all over the USA to provide design services which included conceptual design with floor plans, design development, 3D Renderings, and FF&E Specifications. Interfaced with clients via messenger and virtual meetings to facilitate design presentations and acted as clients main point of contact on the platform.

CID Design Group, Associate Interior Designer

May 2020 - March 2021 Naples, FL

Worked closely with Senior Designers as well as the Owner, Jen Zella on renovation and new build FF&E projects throughout the United States. Acted as the main point of contact for communication for clients on a selection of projects which included project coordination, presentations, and the final project walk-throughs. Responsible for being on-site for all deliveries and project installations for final placement & accessorizing of fittings. Selected, presented, specified and procured furniture, fixtures and equipment for multifamily projects and worked closely with our budgeting and purchasing team. Responsible for creating the budget template for some projects off of the FF&E plans. Coordinated with the (architectural) Interior Design team on project hand off between departments.

Hickok Cole, Staff Interior Designer

August 2018 - Present / Washington, DC

Worked closely with Senior, Intermediate and Junior staff on all phases of the design process from concept throughout construction documentation. Coordinated with Architects, as well as outside consultants. Managed and led the design team on smaller projects, and has trained Junior staff. Serving as the lead FF+E designer.

Worked closely with Senior Staff and Creative Director on creating presentation materials, construction documents, and FF+E packages. Led construction administration on FF+E packages for multiple projects - reviewed custom millwork and furniture drawings, approved architectural finishes and coordinated directly with purchasing agents.
