Located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, this new Sushi San restaurant location will add to the existing franchise as part of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurant group. The interior is to be an elevated experience while maintaining the roots and influences of the original River North location, targeted to draw in the local neighborhood crowd.
Overall branding focuses on the repetition of only three materials throughout being wood, stone, and glass in new innovative ways. Throughout the space is layered ambient lighting at 2500k washing all surfaces.
Whether you are walking along the sidewalk of Halsted St. or through the front door, a guests’ eyes are drawn to the grand front bar. Some unique bar design features include a dropped bulkhead with suspended metal shelving to house all spirits, ribbed architectural glass, a shou shugi bond bar facade with Marron Cohiba granite countertops and layered lighting. Flexible seating group types throughout the interior accommodate an array of guest group types from individuals to families. All seating in the front half of the restaurant is high top except the communal tables along the entrance front.
We dropped the ceiling along the perimeter throughout the front and back for a more intimate guest experience. The perimeter walls feature cladded textured concrete panels with layered black stained wood slats in the front only. Hung above the loose dining tables, we dropped a modular linear lighting system for visual appeal.
Continuing through the restaurant, guests walk through a rugged stone portal opening in to additional dining. Table groups and banquettes along the perimeter are dining height, while the bar seating is bar height at the sushi bar. Here is where Chef prepares all fresh courses for guests. Server stations are placed in several convenient locations for staff use. Pendant lighting is hung above each banquette. Hung above the loose dining tables in the center most portion of the room are wood slats running the length of the space to ground the middle seating groups with integrated track lighting.
Keeping the aesthetic cohesive, wood slats with track lighting were to be installed above the back sushi bar keeping it light and decorative for proper Feng Shui according to Chef. Back bar key design elements include decorative metal shelving, wood countertop styled after the Willis Tower location, and wood look porcelain tile at the bar facade.

North of Roscoe Village and South of Ravenswood, in the neighborhood of North Center we designed along the client a new sixty-eight unit, five story, mixed-use ADA Compliant building at the intersections of Lincoln Ave and Damen Ave.
This bustling neighborhood has many options for dining, entertainment, and activity. Within the neighborhood there are six elementary schools accompanied by a number of parks appealing to many families. This area is very focused on local establishments within the neighborhood.
This new five story building is in close proximity to grocery stores such as Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Market, Town Square, local breweries such as Begyle Brewing and Dovetail Brewery, private gyms, and various retailers.
Since the footprint spans between two avenues we wanted each side to be unique in itself, but cohesive as a whole to aid in wayfinding for tenants and guests.
To aid in wayfinding Lincoln and Damen Avenues are painted inverse schemes of each other, per floor, with repeated elements found at the elevator lobbies and corridor vestibules. Transitional design principles with modern influences are shown throughout in light wood tones, mixed metals, simple patterns, and neutral color tonality.

This property features thoughtful architectural details that compliment the surrounding landscape while the floor to ceiling windows capture the beauty of the mountain range.
Clean lines, rustic textures and natural materials set the tone of the interior spaces that rest within this trailside property.
MAIN LEVEL | KITCHEN SIDE VIEW
Applied to the ceiling, as guests enter the home and carried through to the main living space is knotted wood veneer planks and exposed steel beams for a modern rustic aesthetic. Guests are also greeted by open riser stairs with clear glass railings between the floors and natural stone lined walls. Door portals throughout the main level are encased with metal to tie in with the homes many other metal accents.
The main level of the house includes the powder room, mudroom, and an open floor plan in the public spaces between the kitchen, living, and dining. For spatial continuity to the outside the living room features a two-sided floor to ceiling natural stone fireplace. The stone applied to the fireplace is carried in from the main entry interior walls and the exterior. Tucked in the corner is a modern L-shaped kitchen with a large island and a dry bar adjacent. This property not only is fit for a single tenant, but also can be rented out as a bnb to visitors from near and far or used as a seasonal vacation home. The lower level includes a ski lounge, a ski room, and a bunk room for when the activities come to a conclusion.
The lounge features flexible seating types and a wet bar making it the perfect entertaining space. Millwork features mixed metal and wood tones and a continuous stone look countertop and backsplash. Hung above are rustic wood beams with a chandelier grounding the grouping below and a plaster look wallcovering on all walls.
The ski room features assorted floor to ceiling storage for all ski equipment types, a tiled porcelain floor and rubber wall base for easy cleanability, a bench and mirror to aid in preparation and a tray ceiling with integrated LED lighting throughout the space

Located directly on Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile, Remington’s is an American grill with a contemporary take on the classics you love. Part of 4 Star Restaurant Group, the 225-seat space is the perfect destination before or after the theatre, a busy day of shopping on Michigan Avenue, a casual lunch or intimate dinner with colleagues. Remington’s also offers a variety of stunning private and semi-private dining spaces for groups of varying sizes.
Ahead of NASCAR Chicago, the restaurant group wanted a fresh interior look to attract potential revenue without doing major renovations. Their current program had no separation between the lounge and entry space allowing for a ton of sound bleed with furniture that did not fit appropriately. We focused on the good parts and built off that. The lounge and entry spaces were separated with a paneled interior partition to match the existing wood tonality throughout, we replaced the existing fireplace facade with a floor to ceiling cladded porcelain stone, we painted the existing ceiling slatting black and replaced existing recessed cans to black track heads. All existing windows have an applied film for privacy. Door styles to match entry with reeded glass upper panel throughout.

This iconic American Foursquare style single-family home was the basis of style to the new French Modern aesthetic with a built addition.
Elegant and organic, this interior design style focuses on juxtapositions of classic and contemporary pairings between materiality and furnishings. It features 10’ ceilings through all the public spaces with tall heavily molded trim detailing.
Overall palette includes soft, airy, neutral tones paired with wood accents. The shell serves as a canvas for bold pairings found in metals, fabrics and stone throughout.

Following the molding throughout the remaining spaces of this custom home, the dining room features wainscoting on all four interior walls paired with oak wood herringbone on the floor surface plane. We mounted tow wall sconces flanking either side and centered within the molded panel to designate a focal wall. The space was styled with designer furniture, fixtures, and accessories throughout.

Originally designed in 1924, this Latter-day Saints chapel stands across the University of Utah and is to be converted in to University Student Housing. This historic church sits on half an acre with the intent to keep as much of the original building and its contents to pay homage to its original purpose.
The design program includes the main lobby, mailbox and elevator lobby, fitness center, study rooms, bike storage, and typical units ranging from full bath to 3 full baths in size.
We wanted the interior to play off the existing midcentury architecture with vibrant pops of color and organic patterns in the public spaces. The lobby includes the following design features:

In the typical corridor, a branded focal wall is painted in the blue colorway with bench seating along with all doors and trim. All hardware, signage, and light fixtures are to match the yellow colorway. The church had walk-up window counters along the corridor serving different departments, but have now transformed to recessed art niches with an accent wallcovering on the back wall and painted blue along the inner edges to match the painted scheme throughout.
