Lyceum of the Philippines University- Batangas is now an Autonomous University- the first tertiary educational institution in the region to receive this award from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

This autonomous status, which is the highest and most prestigious recognition given by CHED, is a recognition of the quality education that provides as a result of its strong accreditation thrust alongside its international quality assurance system.

Autonomous STATUS OF LPU The Autonomous Status is given only to a few numbers of deserving PHEIs or private higher education institutions in the Philippines, which the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas is being categorized. The chosen universities will enjoy the benefits of being exempted to the issuance of Special Orders to its graduates, become one of the priorities in receiving financial assistance or aids and grants of subsidies from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the authority to grant an honorary degree to its deserving graduates. The program covers one year in Jagannath University, which will comprise of theoretical sessions and laboratory classes and two months in Lyceum of the Philippines, Batangas, Philippines that will cover practicum, extensive NMAT review, NMAT exam and graduation in Premed/Bachelors in Psychology followed by an MD course.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Philippines has vested and granted the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas an Autonomous Status acknowledging its international standard of the educational system which led to consecutive years of producing top passers and 100% passing rate in the fields of medicine, law, engineering, education, and others. The Autonomous Status by the CHED awarded a privilege to LPU-Batangas the capacity and ability to offer Transnational Education, a distance learning program, and to develop and design their own curriculum for programs they offer, and to offer new courses or programs in the undergraduates or graduate levels. The LPU-Batangas curriculum will remain enforceable and intact amidst any changes that may come or impose by Philippine Education.

PRE-

-MED

NECESSARY? Premedical course is primarily offered to undergraduates so that they can go ahead for further medical studies. The activities are designed to prepare students to attend top medical schools.

In premed course, the students can take any major subject that helps them to focus on various scientific areas. This course is necessary as it trains students in volunteering activities, research, and genius them to gain clinical experience. This course also helps students to prepare for NMAT. Indian students cannot opt directly for the MD in the Philippines after their 12th standard, since, they have not done their B.S. Degree in India. They must complete 3 years of graduation and premed to be eligible for the MD course.

However, the pre-med course through Lyceum of the Philippines-Batangas gives the Indian students an opportunity to prepare for MD in the Philippines in a short duration of 1 year, thus constricting their entire MBBS course to 5 years.

UNDERSTAND VISA PROCESS

STUDENT VISA PROCESSING The Indian students who have opted the TNE program of LPU Batangas, their student visa will be processed by the Indian partner university (either VELS or JIMS) from where they are pursuing the Premedical. After this, the university will hand over all the essential documents to the LPU for further evaluation.

APPLYING OF STUDENT VISA BY LPU (LYCEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES - BATANGAS) Once the initial formalities are met at the Indian university levels, LPU (Lyceum of the Philippines - Batangas) will further evaluate all the necessary documents with the help of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in the Philippines and will finally send them to Philippine Embassy in India for validation and student visa issuance.

ADVANTAGES OF STUDENT VISA From visa processing to its issuance, it is the responsibility of the concerned institutions, which makes things easier and less time-consuming at student and parents’ level.

For students not having the passports, the TNE program gives them complete one year to get their essentials ready along with the student visa.
