Apothecary?

Now, the word and meaning of “apothecary” has evolved into a term that denotes the many duties of modern-day pharmacies, such as dispensing medications and prescriptions, along with providing natural therapies and remedies. Did you know that almost every prescription medicine is derived from plants and substances in nature?

The word “apothecary” is understood to have entered the English language sometime during the 14th century. Much like the meaning of today’s equivalent “pharmacy,” apothecaries were places where medicines of the time were prepared and sold to doctors and surgeons of the day, as well as directly to patients.

One Eyed Apothecary is taking the plant medicines that have been highly studied back into the mix of pharmaceuticals and giving them the credit they deserve. We believe in the importance of weaving your connection to earth again. With these powerful plant remedies, you will surely feel rooted again.

How to use:

Elder is legendary for stitching itself into the hearts and lives of people around the world. Elder is said to be the home of Elda Mor (Hylde-Moer), the Elder Mother, who lives within the tree. In the Old World, it was believed she could be petitioned on behalf of the ill— especially sick children. Elder is one of our most traditional, iconic, and effective immune system herbs. It has a history of use that spans hundreds of years and nearly every continent. Today, we value elder as an antioxidant-rich food and medicine that is a powerful (and delicious) household remedy for colds, flu, and other viral infections. It grows abundantly and easily and bears a generous harvest, which makes its medicine wonderfully accessible. Elder is a staple in the apothecary and garden.

Tinctures make it easy to consume the natural health-boosting chemicals found in some plants. The tinctures provided have the highest benefits of mushrooms.

How to: Begin with 1 full dropper once a day. Increase your dose to 2 full droppers. You can take this by mouth or by putting the dropper into hot tea or beverage of your choice.
