ENACTUS is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. The members of GIM-ENACTUS follow the same principle and have the yearning to serve the community. A fest was organized by GIM which was scheduled to take place on 6th September, 2014 but was postponed to 10th September, 2014 due to sudden rain. Students who had purchased the tickets turned out in large numbers on 10th September and the fest started around 4:30 in the evening. The open auditorium filled in very quickly and there wasn’t any place to sit for anyone who came after five. There were solo dance performances where students showcased styles like belly dancing and other styles.

Shubham Tiwari, an engineering student gaveamind-blowingsolodanceperformance with his unique dance style. Few performers sang songs where the audience joined in as the chorus. Then there were the spectacular group performances by members of Kala Krithi’s dance club, Ground Breakers and Rahul Sai’s group. Special guests who attended the event praised and motivated the students through their speeches. The program ended at 7. Overall, it was a good event and the culturals kept the audience entertained. The anchors- Aarti, Pratyusha and Vaishnavi did a good job.

interview, Adisu Fanta, player from the Ethopian team said, he loved the pitch and the scenic beauty of GITAM. They love the music circuit in GU and also attended few concerts of INSIGNIA (GITAM based rock band). Talking about the game, he said GU team’s defence should be an area of concern but their mid field is very strong and the V-line pattern is also played out very well similar to the one followed by Manchester City. He also admired the way GU team played and later added that if they can channelize the steel within them properly they have fair amount of chances in making it to the nationals.

hosted a friendly match between GU team and Ethopian team. The opponents, have come to India for pursuing MBA courses through the student exchange program in tie up with Andhra University. They have a community union in Andhra University where they meet up for celebrating their vernacular festivals and to hang out with friends. They love Indian food, music and movies. The match went on very interestingly. There was neck to neck competition between both the teams. Our opponents managed to gain an edge over our home- Good luck, team GU! team, and we lost the match 2-1. In the post-match

ITAM Institute of Science, having expertise in the field of environmental sampling and analysis for various conventional and radioactive constituents in various matrices of environment, science have entered in to Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BHABHA ATOMIC RESEARCH CENTRE (BARC) to monitor gamma radiation in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to the MoU, BARC will cooperate with the University's project team to develop in-house capability for measurement of Thermoluminescence Dosimeters (TLD). TLDs offer a reliable and inexpensive tools for environmental radiation monitoring. GITAM University research team has identified around 525 outdoor and indoor locations across 23 districts for the deployment of TLDs. As Gamma rays are the most energetic form of electromagnetic radiation with a very short wavelength of less than one-tenth of a nanometer, TLDs should be exposed for at least a 3 months period in the open environment at different locations for a proper reading. The instruments will be collected and sent to BARC for analysis. The soil samples will be subjected to gamma spectrometry analysis for natural radioactivity contents. BARC also plans on coming to the city of destiny soon enough. They have even acquired 500 acres of land outskirts of the city to construct the scientific behemoth, which would mean a pleasant news for all the researchers and engineers of the city.

The

essence of energy consumption has not changed over the last few decades. People have been using fuelpowered vehicles and the internals of the combustion engine have pretty much stayed the same; people have been using conventional coal powered energy to fuel their homes and offices; governments have built plants relying on conventional sources of energy and so on. But, this is not sustainable – we have limited deposits of fossil fuels on earth and with an everincreasing demand, mankind needs to change over to a more environmental friendly and renewable source of energy. Renewable energy is still a niche in India and especially solar-powered homes, but due to our geographical location (around 8-9 hours of sun everyday in most parts), a large

part of the country has an immense potential to reap the benefitsofsolarpower.Afterall, why should you pay steep energy bills when the biggest source of energy is right above

you ? With around 500 Twh received every year, even the potential to tap one tenth of it could signal the end of energy related problems for the country.

In today's world, the one name that goes synonymous with renewable energy is Elon Musk. He was the guy who built PayPal to fund a -minutes packed in a luxurious body, Tesla's Model S has won many awards by top automobile magazines. With significantly lesser environmental damage as compared to your petrol car, theModel S seems to be a car of the future. Musk's new venture, a solar powered city, aptly named Solar City, is making big waves as it aims to provide electricity to your home and charge your electric car, with zero emissions

manned trip to Mars to search for human relocation ( in the event of a crisis) and he is the same guy who is the force behind Tesla – the all electric

to the environment and minimal bills ( for the installation of the solar panels). Another interesting campaign on the popular crowd funding site, Indiegogo, was about raising money to build solar roadways – a modular paving system powered by the sun, which if installed on a wide scale, can arguably produce more energy than a particular country consumes as a whole.

With governments supporting the push by the private sector into renewable, we are playing on a level field as small and big companies have the opportunity to make a big impact for a more sustainable future. With regards to solar energy and India, there are a lot of existing solutions that could get you started for your home; but renewable energy still needs a massive push from the government and the biggies in the electric sector for it to be pushed out on a grand scale to the common man. For economic and environmental reasons, the push towards renewable/ sustainable energy will be the key in elevating the current energy related problems faced by people living in the rural and urban areas.

With solar roadways, solar terraces and even upcoming solar-powered cities, renewable energy is slowly coming of age. Tech companies are investing into its future and if this challenge to provide renewable energy to the country is taken up by the right people, the future looks bright and clean.

But as, we started to operate we had a huge response from the student community and IT employees, who remain awake during those hours. Before, we knew it we were happily minting profits” exclaimed an ecstatic Praveen “Initially, we had a zero marketing campaign, that is, we used word of mouth publicity. Apart from that, we printed out roughly 5000 flyers which we placed inside newspapers. Before we knew it, we were getting calls from all over Vizag.” said Pawan. Upon asking on where this unit plans on headed, the team excitedly replied that they want to start a fully automated restaurant that boasts of little to no manual interference. “Currently!! PISCES This month will only bring something good for you if you try and reach for it. Unfortunately you are not Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four so your reaching power is drastically limited. If you do not try anything new, you will just be another fish swimming in the water.

TAURUS For all the students who are writing exams, don't write – you will flunk. Not just by a meager one or two marks, it's going to be bad. Financially, you are not as bad as Aries, but a pal who is one, is likely to borrow some money off you. You will not be in a place to get into a new relationship because you are very boring. No physical disability will keep you down. So, even if you lose an arm, you will be asked to go attend office/college

CANCER Immediately, goconsultyourdoctorbecausejust like your sun sign, there are a high chances that you have cancer this month. Academically, you will be surprising your parents and teachers by getting pass percentage. You will start feeling more secure about money, not because your getting any, you are just feeling secure about money, in general.

ARIES You will accomplish most of your goals – If you start doing it. This month also shows a very high sign that you will receive money from sources, which you will spend eventually and become broke all over again. But, look at the bright side – you will be breathing and won't die this month. YAAAY. You will be pretty much single this month and you know what that means. All in all a very good month for you.

GEMINI A business partner or associate will upset you, by taking over the business and throwing you out. At times you will feel self-conscious and will want to run and hide, trust this instinct and please do. You will start getting angry easily, forcing your boyfriend/girlfriend to break up with you.

LEO Because your sun sign represents courage, bravery, go-getter attitude don't even think for a second that you will be that. Nope. Let me be very clear about this, nothing will happen for you this month.Youtryyourhandatabusiness, yourVCwill ditch you for all your worth. You try your luck at studies, your examiner will get a stroke after reading your paper.

VIRGO The differences between you and your peers sets you apart. And by apart, I mean they're thinking of relocating you so that you're as far apart as possible. Love comes in all shapes and sizes. By the time you came to yours, all the good shapes and sizes will have gone. You will succeed in work that's done behind the scenes, for which no one will give you credit for. You will obtain success in every field youtry–maths, finance, evenjingles. But,allyourthunder will be stolen by someone else.

SCORPIO Scorpio’s represent opposites. They are both the best and worst of nature. You will make a lot of friends and enemies. You will be as high as the sky and as grounded as the ground. In other words you will suffer from bipolar disease, which is a disease that keeps you in either a hyperactive or extremely depressed. But, fear not, the great Robin Williams suffered from this same disease. And like him, you will commit suicide in one of your bouts of depression.

CAPRICON

You have to be careful the following month. The devil will try to corrupt you and make you his disciple. It may not be in direct forms but he may take various forms to try and corrupt you: pollution, plague, famine, death, ISIS or even getting you hooked to Breaking Bad.

LIBRA You know why your symbol is the balance? It’s because you can never stay in balance. To balance the sheer amount of stupidity that you will be doing in the following month, you’re going to need the brains of both Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla. Isn’t that encouraging; you’re as stupid as how smart Einstein and Tesla were… Put together!

SAGITTARIUS People under this sign are always lucky. Soon your luck will turn. Sagittarius is the archer. In the following month, he will shoot you in the head with a misdirected arrow and you will die a horrible death. My suggestion: wear a helmet.

AQUARIUS The gmag team is very excited about those under the Aquarius sign. It is predicted that those under the Aquarius sign will read at least this paragraph in the entire magazine if not anything else. On behalf of the entire gmag team, thank you Aquarius people.
