Año nuevo, Fitur nuevo. Y es que el comienzo de 2017 ha sido para cerrar todos los preparativos del gran evento. Dejamos los polvorones y el roscón de reyes y nos hacemos un viaje gastrónomico en 80 stands (y eso solo es la mitad de países que participan en esta 37 edición) Este es el mes de la diversidad cultural. Recorremos en nuestro especial algunos de los lugares que estarán presentes en la feria y a los que les tenemos un cariño especial y además, por segundo año consecutivo, nuestra portada es para Guanajuato ¡qué viva México lindo!

Another Year, Another Fitur. The start of 2017 saw the conclusion of all the preparations for this major event. We leave behind the polvorones and roscón and take a gastronomical trip through 80 stands (just half the number of countries participating in this 37th edition). This is the month of cultural diversity. In our special edition we cover some of the places that will be featured at the fair and for which we have a special affection, like, for the second consecutive year, Guanajuato, which graces our cover. ¡Que viva México lindo!

Gastrofestival se confirma de nuevo en estas fechas como una cita imprescindible que acoge a diferentes coctelerías, escuelas de cocina, galerías de arte y museos. El plato fuerte de la cuesta de enero en bandeja. Con todo esto, tendremos que dejar lo de pensar en la dieta para marzo o abril.

Gastrofestival will also be back again as an essential happening, featuring fine cocktails, culinary schools, art galleries and museums. January's main dish, served on a silver platter. With all this, we will have to put off any diets until March or April.

Cuatro días de fiestas y clases con profesores muy especiales. Y es que ¡ya está aquí la segunda edición del Swing Mood Fest, el festival internacional de En Modo Swing en Madrid! Este año, la oferta se divide en dos tracks independientes: Lindy Hop o Jazz steps. Además, el domingo 22 se puede disfrutar, durante todo el día, de música en vivo con varias bandas que tocarán simultáneamente en bares seleccionados en el centro de Madrid. Four days of parties and classes with some very special teachers. The second edition of the Swing Mood Fest is here, Madrid's international Swing event! This year the happening is divided into two separate sections: Lindy Hop and Jazz Steps. On Sunday the 22nd participants will be able to enjoy live music by several bands, slated to perform simultaneously at selected bars in the center of Madrid.

Una exposición dedicada a la serie de gouaches que Francisco Bores (Madrid, 1898-París, 1972) pintó en la primera mitad de los años sesenta para ilustrar el poema El cuervo (1845) de Edgar Allan Poe. Inéditos hasta fechas recientes, estos doce gouaches se exponen ahora por primera vez junto a un lienzo de la misma época: Paisaje de verano (1965). An exhibition dedicated to the series of gouaches that Francisco Bores (Madrid, 1898-Paris, 1972) painted during the first half of the 60s to illustrate the poem The Raven (1845) by Edgar Allan Poe. Not released until recently, these 12 gouaches are now exhibited for the first time, along with a canvas from the same era: Summer Landscape (1965).

MI ÚLTIMA NOCHE CON SARA El Teatro Rialto acoge el estreno de la primera obra teatral homenaje que se le rinde a Sara Montiel. Y todo por el empeño de Eva Manjón, una actriz que atesora tanto talento como perseverancia y que ha conseguido sacar adelante este proyecto, que pondrá a la figura de Sara Montiel en el lugar que realmente merece. 'Mi última noche con Sara' hará un recorrido por algunas de las vivencias de Sara y nos mostrará el significado de ser auténtica, fuerte y valiente, en una época difícil para las mujeres y para las artistas. Todo, a lo largo de una noche concreta en la vida de Sara donde tomará una importante decisión que le librará de sus obligaciones con una gran casa discográfica y permitirá ser libre para poder gestionar su carrera. 'Mi última noche con Sara' es un espectáculo escrito y dirigido por David Planell (nominado al Goya en cuatro ocasiones), y protagonizado por la propia Eva Manjón, Rodrigo Poisón y Jesús Lara. Clara Bilbao (galardonada con el Goya 2016 a Mejor Vestuario) colabora en el diseño del vestuario. Es un espectáculo teatral que nos da una visión moderna de la época en la que triunfó la artista y donde conoceremos un poco más a una mujer libre que se puso el mundo por montera gracias a su extraordinario talento. The Rialto Theatre welcomes the premiere of the first work of theatre honouring Sara Montiel, and it’s all due to the persistence of Eva Manjón, an actress boasting equal doses of talent and perseverance, as she managed to bring this project to life, one that will pay due the homage to Sara Montiel that she deserves. My Last Evening with Sara will feature a look at some of Sara's many adventures, and uphold the virtue of being authentic, strong and brave during a trying time for women and artists. All this, on one specific night in the Sara's life, on which she will make an important decision that will free her from her obligations towards a major record label, allowing her to be free to manage her own career. My Last Evening with Sara is a show written and directed by David Planell (a four-time Goya nominee), and starring Eva Manjón herself, Rodrigo Poisón and Jesus Lara. Clara Bilbao (awarded a Goya in 2016 for Best Wardrobe) collaborated on the clothing design. This is a work of theatre granting audiences a modern vision of the era in which the artist triumphed, and through which they will learn a little bit more about a free spirit who made the world her oyster through her extraordinary talent. It is a tribute to this great artist, who appeared in more than 50 films all over the world, and recorded more than 40 albums with her magnetic voice. She was the first Spanish actress to make a splash in Hollywood, where she rubbed elbows with the likes of Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Greta Garbo. To the sound of her music and the key songs in her life (sung live), audiences will enjoy an intense evening, witnessing the moment when Sara opens her heart, and other undisclosed parts of her life.

CARLOS III, CAZADOR DE FRANCISCO DE GOYA *relaciones y divergencias Una obra que se presenta por primera vez al público en todo su esplendor. Esta pintura no ha tenido la consideración y valoración de otras obras del artista, ya que fue considerada copia y obra menor desde su llegada al Museo en 1847, aunque sí se catalogó como de la mano del pintor desde 1900. Sin embargo, la limpieza de sus barnices oxidados ha revelado una pintura en perfecto estado de conservación y de una calidad realmente excepcional. Su técnica evidencia un retrato pintado ante el modelo por la precisión, variedad y riqueza de las pinceladas, los matices de color y las exquisitas transparencias que transmiten poderosamente la personalidad del rey. Además, su procedencia directa de la colección real apoya que fuera éste uno de los primeros retratos del monarca pintados por Goya. Así, técnica y procedencia desvirtúan ahora la idea establecida desde antiguo y recogida hasta en la bibliografía más reciente de que Goya no lo hizo del natural y de que siguió el modelo acuñado por Antón Rafael Mengs en su excepcional retrato de hacia 1765, como podrá constatarse en esta muestra.

A work presented to the public for the first time in all its splendour. This painting has not been as highly regarded and appreciated as other works by the artist, as it was considered a copy and a lesser work ever since its arrival to the Museum in 1847, although it has been catalogued as being by the painter since 1900. Nevertheless, the removal of the oxidisation clouding it has revealed a painting in a perfect state of conservation and of truly exceptional quality. Its technique evidences a work painted right before the model, in the precision, variety and richness of its brush strokes, the nuances of its colours, and the exquisite transparencies that powerfully transmit the king's personality. In addition, the fact that it came directly from the royal collection suggests that this was, in fact, one of the first portraits of the monarch painted by Goya. Thus, its technique and origins now belie the theory advanced in a recent bibliography of Goya that he did not really paint the king's portrait, but just followed the model by Antón Rafael Mengs in his exceptional work from circa 1765.

Teruel celebra en 2017 el 800 aniversario de la historia de sus Amantes, Diego de Marcilla e Isabel de Segura, que murieron en 1217 víctimas de un amor imposible. Con ese motivo, durante todo el año se organizan multitud de actividades culturales, festivas y turísticas que se sumarán a la amplia oferta patrimonial y gastronómica que ofrece la Ciudad del Amor. l Reino de Nájera es un espectáculo medieval, en el que se escenifican diversos momentos de la Historia de esta ciudad riojalteña. Desde sus primeros pobladores –los Berones, con sus ritos mágicos- hasta episodios históricos acaecidos en los siglos X y XI, que sitúan a Nájera en un destacado papel en el proceso de formación de los reinos hispánicos de la Alta Edad Media. Cada año, y van casi 50, en torno a la Festividad de Santiago Apóstol, unos 200 actores locales dan vida a Reyes, Reinas, príncipes, obispos, abades, nobles, caballeros, soldados, campesinos... Personajes, unos reales otros legendarios, que nos ofrecen escenas de la corte najerina en tiempos de Sancho III el Mayor, y de su primogénito Don García. La Historia, la leyenda, la imaginación y el incomparable entorno del Monasterio de Santa María la Real han fraguado este retablo histórico, que ha sido galardonado con los premios Racimo de Oro y Desarrollo Turístico de La Rioja; y declarado en 2015 Bien de Interés Cultural.

The Kingdom of Nájera is a medieval spectacle featuring reenactments of different events in the history of this Upper Rioja city. From its first settlers - Los Berones, with their magical rites – to historical episodes in the 10th and 11th centuries, Nájera played a key role in the process giving rise to the development of Spain's kingdoms in the Early Middle Ages. Every year, for almost 50 now, around the Festival of St James the Apostle, some 200 local actors play roles as kings, queens, princes, bishops, abbots, nobles, knights, soldiers, farmers… personages (some real, others legends) depicting scenes from the Nájera court during the days of Sancho III the Great, and his first son, Don García. Conegraphic Designs Ilustrador En esta ilustración pretendo mostrar la perfección natural que puede tener un animal, como es el lobo en este caso, usando líneas y formando figuras geométricas triangulares como base de diseño, utilizando Illustrator como única herramienta. A su vez los colores fríos de los que está compuesto transmiten la distancia de seguridad que hay que tomar con estos increíbles animales. Podría decir que he creado mi totem personal.
