Noviembre es el mes del cambio. Nuevos colores en los árboles, nueva hora para amanecer, nuevos abrigos en el armario. Y es el cambio lo que representa precisamente la imagen que llevamos en portada este año. Una obra de Los Fauves, Pasión por el color que se puede ver hasta el 29 de enero de 2017 en Fundación Mapfre. Libertad, fuerza, intensidad y vitalidad en la pintura fauvista, las mismas características que nosotros queremos poner en el penúltimo mes del año mientras vamos haciendo balance. Te damos la bienvenida a este nuevo número con una oferta cultural y gastronómica con la que te será imposible quedarte en casa. Nos volcamos con las iniciativas benéficas, nos adentramos por los ritmos más intensos del jazz y sobre todo nos subimos a las tablas madrileñas de teatros como el Alfil, el Calderón y el Apolo, a los que nos ha encantado invitaros con decenas de entradas a la semana. Apostamos por los emprendedores con el capital más grande que existe, la ilusión y buceamos por el turismo de Torroella y L´Estartit, que tiene el patrimonio submarino más importante del Mediterráneo Occidental y un entorno espectacular durante todo el año. No quiero desvelaros más sorpresas. Nos vemos de nuevo para celebrar el inicio de la Navidad. ¡Qué tengáis un feliz noviembre!

And it is precisely change that the image on our cover conveys, a work from The Fauves, Passion for Color, which can be visited until January 29, 2017 at the Mapfre Foundation. Fauvist painting exudes Freedom, strength, intensity and vitality – the same values we want to embrace during the penultimate month of the year as we start to wrap up and reflect on the year. Welcome to this new issue, whose cultural and gastronomic offerings will make it impossible for you to stay home. We look at charitable initiatives, delve into the most intense jazz rhythms and, above all, take the stage at Madrid theaters, like the Alfil, the Calderón and the Apollo, to which we are pleased to invite you, with dozens of tickets each week. We support entrepreneurs with the greatest form of capital of all, excitement, and dive into the tourism scene in Torroella and L'Estartit, boasting the Western Mediterranean's most important undersea heritage elements, constituting a spectacular setting throughout the year. LA DISTANCIA 1 - 13 nov.

Pablo Messiez dirige la obra inspirada en la novela La Distancia, de Samanta Schweblin. Paul Messiez directs the work inspired by the novel La Distancia, by Samanta Schweblin.

LA DISTANCIA Comparado con España, Argentina es un país gigante, inmenso. Tiene enormes llanuras y, sobre todo, muchas hectáreas consagradas al cultivo de soja modificada genéticamente. Esos campos son fumigados sistemáticamente con productos químicos que terminan entrando en contacto, tarde o temprano, de una forma u otra, con muchas personas que pagarán las consecuencias de su utilización. La distancia es la historia de Amanda y de Clara y de sus hijos. Nina es la hija de Amanda. David el vástago de Clara. La estructura dramática juega a mezclar el relato de Amanda con el de Clara, superponiendo planos narrativos a los que Pablo Messiez imprime un ritmo de puesta en escena frenético, in crescendo, sin renunciar a su sello poético habitual. En medio, un elemento perturbador -y un punto fantástico-, que pone la obra a cabalgar entre David Lynch y Pedro Páramo: una práctica de transmigración de almas para salvar la vida de los niños intoxicados. La obra es oscura, por momentos hipnótica, y tiene también el aliciente de ver juntas en escena de nuevo a tres de las mejores actrices de su generación, María Morales, Luz Valdenebro y Estefanía de los Santos, que vuelven a reunirse tras el glorioso montaje Urtain, de Animalario. Completa el reparto un sorprendente Fernando Delgado, que carga sobre sus jóvenes hombros gran parte del peso de la función. Él es David, el hijo de Clara, última etapa en una vida, la de Amanda, que se apaga con toda la angustia a cuestas de no saber si midió bien la distancia de rescate respecto a Nina, su hija. Esa es la distancia fundamental aquí, la del título, la que una madre se pasa la vida calculando, la necesaria para salvar de cualquier peligro a la camada. “¿Por qué las madres hacen eso?/¿Qué cosa?/Lo de ir por delante de lo que podría ocurrir, lo de la distancia de rescate./Es porque tarde o temprano sucederá algo terrible. Mi abuela se lo hizo saber a mi madre. Mi madre me lo hizo saber a mí”.

Compared to Spain, Argentina is a huge country. Immense. It boasts sprawling plains and, above all, many acres devoted to the cultivation of genetically modified soy. These fields are routinely sprayed with chemicals that end up, sooner or later, in one way or another, affecting people in a negative way. La distancia is the story of Amanda and Clara and their children. Nina is Amanda's daughter. David is Clara's son. The work's dramatic structure interweaves Amanda's story with Clara’s, superimposing narrative planes which Paul Messiez infuses with a frenetic and accelerating pace, without renouncing his typically poetic twist. Amidst all this there is a disturbing element and a fantastic touch, placing the work somewhere between David Lynch and Pedro Páramo: a transmigration of souls to save the life of poisoned children. The work is dark, at times hypnotic, and boasts the added draw of bringing together on stage again three of the finest actresses of their generation: María Morales, Luz Valdenebro and Estefanía de los Santos, reunited after the glorious Urtain, by the Animalario company. Rounding out the cast is a surprising Fernando Delgado, who carries much of the show on his young shoulders. He plays David, Clara's son, the last stage in a life, Amanda’s, which winds to an end marked by the anguish of not knowing whether she measured the rescue distance right for Nina, her daughter. That is the fundamental "distance" here, that alluded to in the title, which a mother spends her life calculating: that necessary to save her daughter from any danger "Why do mothers do that? What?/ Anticipating what could happen, the rescue distance./ Is it because sooner or later something terrible will happen. My grandmother told my mother. My mother told me."

LOS FAUVES, INNOVACIÓN Y VANGUARDIA *una amistad retratada en el lienzo De entrada al otoño, época en donde todo se vuelve inspiración, la fundación MAPFRE presenta una inmejorable exposición para disfrutar en primera escena de la primera vanguardia del siglo XX, titulada Los Fauves. Dicha escena propone un recorrido por este gran movimiento artístico. Esta exposición permite el deleite de obras propias del fauvismo y algunas de ellas, nunca antes habían sido expuestas en España. Este movimiento fue liderado por Henri Matisse, André Derain y Maurice de Vlaminck, quienes alteraron el tratamiento del arte de esa época, debido a su pasión por el uso del color, innovación y libertad en sus obras. La exposición se desarrolla en un ambiente que presenta las obras de forma cronológica, demostrando la evolución en el estilo por parte de estos artistas. Más de 150 piezas pueden disfrutarse, las cuales demuestran la versatilidad e ingenio de estos dos grandes pintores. En la exposición, se puede apreciar la enorme influencia que pintores como Van Gogh o Gauguin, ejercieron sobre los jóvenes artistas. Los Fauves, retrata el sentimiento de amistad que surgió entre estos artistas en dicha época, lo cual es pieza fundamental para el desarrollo de este movimiento tan completo.

As we head into the fall, a time when everything becomes an inspiration, the MAPFRE Foundation presents an excellent exhibition to experience first-hand the 20th century's first vanguard movement: Fauvism. The exhibition allows visitors to contemplate a series of Fauvist works, some of them never exhibited before in Spain. The movement was headed up by Henri Matisse, André Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck, who altered the approach to Art during the era with their passion for the use of color, innovation and freedom in their works. The exhibition organizes the works chronologically, illustrating the evolution in these artists' style. More than 150 pieces can be seen, demonstrating the versatility and ingenuity of these great painters. Visitors will also be able to appreciate the enormous influence that painters like Van Gogh had Gauguin on the young artists. MUSEO PINTOR AMALIO *un museo cercano a la sociedad En plena judería, abierta en el número siete del bellísimo pecado de la placita de Doña Elvira y ubicada entre las calles Vida, Muerte y Gloria, se halla el Museo del pintor Amalio, lugar donde inspirada y meditada se ha desarrollado, además de buena parte de sus creaciones, la colección “Los 365 gestos de la Giralda”. Estos cuadros están compuestos por interpretaciones pictóricas que tratan de plasmar la hora, el día y la estación en el que fueron elaborados. Se trata de cuadros, dibujos, grabados, morfismas, tactopinturas o, hasta incluso, sonopinturas. Esta colección muestra el talento artístico innato de su autor que plasma no solo lo que ve, sino más bien, lo que siente, pues su obra, cargada de lirismo, no hace sino despertar en el espectador toda suerte de sensaciones ya vividas por el propio pintor. Estas sensaciones se reflejan también en actividades como Ver sin la Mirada, donde a ciegas se pueden tocar las diversas texturas y materiales con los que el pintor jugaba en sus cuadros.

CARTAGENA JAZZ FESTIVAL *un festival lleno de estrellas En esta 36 edición, Cartega jazz festival apuesta por la calle y la colaboración con los locales de la ciudad. as Fiestas Íbero Romanas de Cástulo son un evento turístico-cultural que recrea el pasado de la Ciudad Íbero-Romana de Cástulo, así como todos los rituales, costumbres, tradiciones y la gastronomía típica de esta época. Cada mes de Junio, una amplia programación y multitud de actividades sumergen a la ciudad de Linares y al Conjunto Arqueológico en el Mundo Antiguo y en su pasado ibero romano. Recreaciones de un circo romano, campamentos, talleres, desfiles, tácticas de combate, gastronomía, ponencias, visitas guiadas y luchas de gladiadores serán la seña de identidad de este evento. Cástulo fue una importante ciudad íbera, capital de la región de Oretania, siempre muy vinculada a los yacimientos minerales y considerado como uno de los oppidum más importantes de Andalucía. La Segunda Guerra Púnica es el más conocido de los enfrentamientos bélicos entre las dos potencias que entonces dominaban el Mediterráneo occidental: Roma y Carthago. Al comienzo de esta guerra, Cástulo se aliaría con el ejército cartaginés. Una alianza que fue sellada con el enlace matrimonial entre el general cartaginés Aníbal y la princesa íbera Himilce, lo que le garantizó la financiación a Carthago para la II Guerra Púnica.

The Ibero-Roman Festival of Cástulo is a tourism/cultural event recreating the ancient past of the city of Cástulo, and all the rituals, customs, traditions and cuisine of this era. Every June an extensive program and multitude of activities convert the city (outside today’s city of Linares) and its Archaeological Complex into part of the Ancient World, resuscitating its Ibero-Roman past. The event offers recreations of a Roman circus, camps, workshops, parades, battle tactics, gastronomy, lectures, guided tours and gladiatorial fights. Cástulo was one an important Iberian city, capital of the region of Oretania, always closely associated with mineral deposits and considered one of the most important fortified settlements in Andalusia. The Second Punic War is the best-known of the armed clashes between the two powers that then dominated the western Mediterranean: Rome and Carthage. At the beginning of this war Cástulo would ally with the Carthaginian army. This alliance was sealed with the marriage bond between the Carthaginian general Hannibal and the Iberian princess Imilce, which guaranteed backing for Carthage for the second Punic War.

Yenia Muñoz Serradilla Ilustradora Esta ilustración representa a la Mujer Maravilla del 2016 y está dedicada a todas esas mujeres que trabajan, estudian, tienen una vida social activa, están casadas, tienen hijos, y que además, buscan ser exitosas en todos los ámbitos de su vida. Esto causa mucho estrés pero como dice la canción “LAS CHICAS SON GUERRERAS”. Nacida en Plasencia en 1982 (Naranjito) y criada en la Comarca de la La Vera (pimentoneras) entre brochas, pinceles y aguarrás, (padre y hermano; pintores de brocha gorda y alta decoración en general). Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de la bella Salamanca, decido probar suerte en Madrid donde llevo más de 8 años siendo diseñadora gráfica. Sensible, apasionada y con muchas inquietudes artísticas y profesionales.
