Año tras año el mes de septiembre arranca como un ciclo de algo más de cuatro semanas menos feliz que lo anterior. Vemos cada vez más lejos los días de descanso, vacaciones, sol y playa. Por delante rutina, asfalto, atascos y días más cortos. Pero nada más lejos de la realidad o de la óptica adecuada.

Septiembre supone el comienzo de un nuevo ciclo, un nuevo curso, escolar o no, y un nuevo periodo en el que poner en marcha iniciativas, o los planes que has mascullado durante el verano.

Para nosotros ver un nuevo número en las puertas del otoño es una gran satisfacción.

Nuevas ideas y un gran equipo tras ellas.

Constancia y perseverancia que dice un amigo mío.

Este número de Taxi Magazine cuenta en su portada con la fiesta de Carthagineses y Romanos. La emblemática celebración cumple 25 ediciones. Una fiesta que representa a la perfección la conjunción de un pueblo con sus tradiciones. Días muy especiales en Cartagena.

En nuestro repaso a la actualidad escénica de Madrid charlamos con Kira Miró, en nuestro particular repaso a El Nombre. Septiembre supone también el punto de partida a una nueva temporada teatral, y las propuestas un año más superan el ejercicio anterior.

Por último, y como siempre, recuerda que a todas las opciones puedes llegar a bordo de un taxi.

Year after year the month of September commences, viewed as a period of a bit over four weeks that is a little less happy than the time before it, as those days of rest, holidays, sun and surf fade away into the distance. Stretching out before us: the daily grind, asphalt, traffic jams and shorter days. But nothing could be further from reality or the right attitude.

September is the start of a new era, a new year (whether academic or not), and a new period during which to undertake projects, or pursue those plans that you've been mulling over during the summer.

For us turning out a new issue at the gates of the fall is very rewarding. With new ideas, and a great team behind them. Constancy and perseverance, as a friend of mine says.

This issue of Taxi Magazine features the Carthaginians and Romans Festival on its cover. The iconic celebration is celebrating its 25th year. A celebration that epitomizes a people's embrace of their traditions, and promises some very special days in Cartagena.

In our look at Madrid's stage features we talked with Kira Miró in our review of The Name. September also marks the dawn of a new theater season, and the shows, for yet another year, surpass those of the preceding.

Finally, as always, remember that you can get to all these attractions in a taxi.

La Compañía Nacional de Danza sigue de actualidad. La celebración de su XXXV aniversario tiene lugar en los Teatros del Canal. Dos programas distintos y una gala aniversario completan la programación que durante quince días llenará de lo mejor de la danza la Sala Roja de este espacio escénico de la capital. Los días 18 y 19 se cerrará este ciclo con la Gala del 35 aniversario de la CND: homenaje a María de Ávila y Tony Fabre que unirá a la compañía con varios artistas invitados. Una magnífica ocasión para compartir con ellos la celebración.

Spain's National Dance Company remains in the news. The celebration of its 35th anniversary will be held at the Teatros del Canal. Two different programs and a gala anniversary round out a lineup which for 15 days will fill this capital venue's "Red Auditorium" with the best in dance. On the 18th and 19th this series will close with the CND’s 35th Anniversary Gala: a tribute to María de Ávila and Tony Fabre that will feature the company along with several guest artists. A wonderful opportunity to share the celebration with them.

El Pabellón Satélite de la Casa de Campo se convierte en el nuevo escenario de Millesime Madrid. Una esperada cita donde se reúnen los chefs y se degustan los productos más novedosos del momento. Del 7 al 10 de octubre se celebra la cuarta edición, repleta de novedades. Seis espacios de ensueño decorados por los mejores interioristas del momento para saborear dos menús bien diferenciados en los que no faltará un maridaje de excepción con champagnes, vinos y cerveza, sólo una, la histórica cerveza de abadía Affligem.

The Satellite Pavilion in the Casa de Campo is the new site of Millesime Madrid, an eagerly-awaited event which will draw chefs and at which latest products will be savored. From 7 to 10 October the fourth edition will be held, full of novel developments. EL LOCO DE LOS BALCONES Desde / From 17 sep.

JOSÉ SACRISTÁN Nuevo desembarco en el Teatro Español de uno de nuestros actores más importantes. Hace algo más de un año debutaba en el templo de la Plaza de Santa Ana haciendo un Quijote, y en este caso... pues casi también, porque su personaje, ese loco de los balcones que protagoniza la obra de Mario Vargas Llosa, también es muy quijotesco... ...¿no es así?

Efectivamente, va de iluminados esto, de gente que no se para a considerar qué riesgos puede correr con tal de llevar a cabo lo que piensan que es su misión o su obligación. Es un texto muy hermoso y es motivo de celebración, porque desde que hicimos Pantaleón y las visitadoras, siempre nos habíamos prometido Mario y yo volver a trabajar juntos y por fin ha podido ser. ¿Hace mucho de aquello?

Pues en el año 75 del siglo pasado, nada menos, y fue el propio Mario Vargas Llosa el que dirigió la adaptación al cine de su novela. La rodamos con Caty Jurado, fue una gran producción... y desde entonces hemos esperado este segundo encuentro. ¿Conocías esta obra, El loco de los balcones?

No, había leído La chunga y La señorita de Tacna, pero de esta no tenía noticia, fíjate. ¿Cuáles fueron tus primeras impresiones tras leerla?

Me gustó porque tiene una propuesta de partida muy interesante: todo ocurre en la cabeza de un tipo, un florentino que llegó al Perú y ahora recuerda todos sus años en este país. Y sobre todo lo que tiene de apuesta quijotesca, del tipo que con tal de llevar adelante su trabajo, le importa poco incluso dejarse en el camino la felicidad de su propia hija.

Leyendo el texto, uno tiene la tentación de buscar paralelismos con hechos actuales, cuando la gente se echa a la calle a protestar contra lo que cree injusto...

Y está muy presente el fenómeno de la especulación inmobiliaria, porque hay un momento en el que yo, dirigiéndome a la ciudad de Lima, digo: quedas en libertad de ir a corromperte por ahí, con esos que te van a comprar abrigos de hormigón armado, sombreros de plexiglás, trajes de acero... y cosas por el estilo. Sí, está toda esta cosa impune con la que se ha ido demoliendo lo que en tiempos suponía un valor, no solamente arquitectónico, sino artístico y cultural. Ahí está el Algarrobico y tantas cosas. Las costas tanto como los paisajes urbanos, las ciudades que han sido masacradas. Álvaro Vicente

A new appearance at the Teatro Español by one of one of our most important actors.

A little over a year ago he debuted at our hallowed theater in the Plaza de Santa Ana, with a Quixote, and in this case ... well, it’s almost the same thing, as his character, that madman of the balconies starring in the work

by Mario Vargas Llosa, is also very Quixotic...

Isn't that so?

Indeed. This is about people who have "seen the light," and don't stop to ponder the risks they run upon undertaking what they believe to be their mission and obligation. It's a very beautiful text and a cause for celebration, because since we did Captain Pantoja and the Special Services Mario and I had promised each other that we would work together again, which has finally come to pass.

Was that a long time ago?

Well, in '75 of the last century, no less, and it was Mario Vargas Llosa himself who directed the film adaptation of his novel. We shot it with Caty Jurado. It was a big production... and since then we have been looking forward to this second encounter.

Were you aware of this work: The Madman of the Balconies?

No, I had read La chunga and La señorita de Tacna, but didn't know about this one. How about that.

What were your first impressions after reading it?

I liked it because it has a very interesting premise: everything happens in this guy's head, a Florentine who went to Peru, and now remembers all his years in that country. And I especially like its Quixotic side. He'll do anything to carry out his task, at all costs, even willing to endanger the happiness of his own daughter.

Reading the text, one is tempted to look for parallels with current events, as people take to the street to protest against what they believe to be unfair...

And the phenomenon of real-estate speculation is very timely, because there is a moment in which I, addressing the city of Lima, say: “you are free to go and corrupt yourself out there, with those who are going to buy you coats of reinforced concrete, plexiglass hats, suits of steel ...” and the like. Yes, there is this whole unchecked thing which has gradually demolished what used to be a real asset, not only architectural, but artistic and cultural. There's the Algarrobico (hotel), and so many things...coasts and urban landscapes, cities that have been massacred.

TEATRO ALFIL *improvisando que es gerundio Tras un verano de lo más familiar, el Teatro Alfil arranca una nueva temporada con la programación repleta de novedades. Para comenzar, el mes de octubre se viste de improvisación de la mano de la compañía Al Tran Tran.

Sin duda un referente clave en España cuando hablamos deimprovisación, música y comedia. Una apuesta arriesgada donde el verdadero protagonista es el público.

Su estancia en el Alfil está marcada con un doble programa. Desde el 4 de octubre y hasta el día 22, Al Tran Tran nos invita a La última noche. Un homenaje al arte de improvisar. After a very family-oriented summer, the Teatro Alfil kicks off a new season with a lineup packed with new features. To start, the month of October will be full of improv, thanks to the company Al Tran Tran, without any doubt a leading name in Spain when it comes to improv, music and comedy, featuring gutsy shows in which the real star is the audience.

Its run at the Alfil will feature two different shows. UN CICLO DE DANZA MÁS AMBICIOSO ABRE TEMPORADA EN EL ECHEGARAY *coreografía malagueña en los teatros municipales El tradicional Ciclo de Danza del Teatro Echegaray amplía su radio de acción espacial, temporal y temático con cuatro espectáculos en el Teatro Cervantes, funciones durante siete días consecutivos y actividades paralelas que incluyen exposiciones, jornadas de análisis y muestras de nuevos valores de la coreografía malagueña.

El Ciclo de Danza llenará toda la semana del 27 de octubre al 2 de noviembre de funciones, pero también de sugerentes actividades paralelas. Una de ellas es la muestra del talento de la creación local: sendas piezas de Andrea Quintana (Ángel cojo sin pierna), Rebeca Gómez (Kalango) y Ximena Carnevale (Ella, demasiado oscuro) alzarán el telón del Echegaray el martes 28.

The traditional Echegaray Theater Dance Series expands its spatial, temporal and thematic scope with four shows at the Cervantes Theater, with functions for seven consecutive days and parallel activities including exhibitions, analytical workshops and exhibitions of Málaga's choreography productions.

The Dance Series will run from 27 October to 2 November, with shows and appealing complementary activities. One of them is an exhibition of local talent: two pieces by Andrea Quintana (Lame Angel Without A Leg), Rebeca Gómez (Kalango) and Ximena Carnevale (She, Too Dark) will lift the curtain of the Echegaray on Tuesday the 28th. RICHARD HAMILTON *en el trono Pop Hace varias semanas que estuvimos disfrutando del montaje que el MNCARS había preparado para la retrospectiva sobre Richard Hamilton. La más completa que se ha realizado jamás. En ella habitan los creaciones más importantes del precursor del Pop Art. Alguna de ellas cedidas por las principales entidades artísticas a nivel mundial: el MOMA de Nueva York; The Art Institute of Chicago; Victoria and Albert Museum, de Londres; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum de Nueva York; o Tate Modern de Londres.

Diez semanas después de abrirse las puertas, todas las partes deben estar satisfechas. Madrid se ha enfundado durante el verano la camiseta pop, #MadridesPop rezaba un hastag por las redes sociales, y el MNCARS ha sido el abanderado ideal.

Aún quedan unas semanas para vivir una aventura muy especial. Madrid sigue siendo una ciudad privilegiada al ofrecer la posibilidad de disfrutar en primera persona de instalaciones como Growth and Form, de 1951. Ha sido reconstruida por primera vez desde que fuera creada.

A few weeks ago we were enjoying the exhibit the MNCARS had prepared for its retrospective on Richard Hamilton; the most complete ever done, featuring the most important creations by the forerunner of Pop Art. Some of them were loaned by the world's major artistic institutions: the MOMA in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; and the Tate, London.

Ten weeks after opening its doors, all parties must be satisfied. Madrid donned its Pop shirt during the summer, #MadridesPop was the hashtag on the social networks, and the MNCARS served as the standardbearer.

There are still a few weeks left to experience a very special adventure. Madrid continues to be a privileged city, offering the possibility of enjoying, first-hand, installations like Growth and Form, from 1951, which has been rebuilt for the first time since it was created. Also on display will be Lobby, an Exhibit; This is Tomorrow; and Man, Machine and Motion, the latter belonging to the Reina Sofía Museum.

ENTRE EL CIELO Y LA TIERRA *el Greco en la creación contemporánea Una exposición que explora el lugar en el que se sitúa la influencia del Greco en el arte de hoy, a través del trabajo que desarrollan doce artistas actuales que atestigua su vigencia en la creación contemporánea.

Junto a las obras actuales en la exposición está presente San Jerónimo, una importante obra del Greco perteneciente a la colección de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.

Los artistas presentes plantean abiertamente su vínculo con el cretense, un reconocimiento que a veces es explícito en sus trayectorias y otras, aunque menos evidente, igualmente intenso. José Manuel Broto, Jorge Galindo, Pierre Gonnord, Luis Gordillo, Secundino Hernández, Cristina Iglesias, Carlos León, Din Matamoro, Marina Núñez, Pablo Reinoso, Montserrat Soto y Darío Villalba son los creadores que están Entre el cielo y la tierra.

El catálogo, contiene intervenciones textuales de doce expertos tanto en el Greco como en el arte contemporáneo.

Todos ellos presentan ensayos breves en torno a lo que supone la impronta del Greco en la historia y en el arte desde nuestra mirada contemporánea.

Como señala la comisaria, Isabel Durán, "hay muy pocos artistas clásicos que hayan influido de forma tan intensa en el arte producido en las últimas décadas.

La presencia del proyecto artístico del Greco es clara.

Probablemente sean él, Diego Velázquez y Francisco de Goya los que permanecen con un aliento más intenso en lo que llamamos arte contemporáneo".

An exhibition that explores the influence of El Greco on art today, through the works of 12 contemporary artists that testify to his impact on contemporary creativity.

Accompanying the modern works at the exhibition is San Jerónimo (St. Jerome), an important El Greco work belonging to the collection of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.

The artists featured openly recognize their debt to the Cretan, an acknowledgment that is at times explicit in their careers, while at other times, although less obvious, equally intense.

José Manuel Broto, Jorge Galindo, Pierre Gonnord, Luis Gordillo, Secundino Hernández, Cristina Iglesias, Carlos León, Din Matamoro, Marina Núñez, Pablo Reinoso, Montserrat Soto and Darío Villalba are the artists Between Heaven and Earth.

The program contains texts by 12 experts on both El Greco and Contemporary Art, all of them brief essays on El Greco's legacy, in history and art, from our contemporary perspective.

The exhibition's curator, Isabel Durán, observes: "there are very few classical artists who have so intensely influenced the art produced in recent decades. The presence of El Greco's body of work is clear.

FESTIVAL DE OTOÑO A PRIMAVERA *lo primero: Peter Brook El Festival de Otoño a Primavera ya está aquí. El próximo 23 de octubre arranca un nuevo ciclo escénico en la Comunidad de Madrid. Ya conocemos las primeras confirmaciones para la próxima edición del Cartagena Jazz Festival.

Desde el 6 al 22 de noviembre la ciudad acogerá la treinta y cuatro edición de un festival clásico ya en el calendario.

Más de una docena de grupos participarán en este 2014.

Entre los primeros confirmados están el gran saxofonista estadounidense Branford Marsalis, una de las grandes figuras del jazz vocal Gregory Porter acompañado por primera vez en España por una Orquesta Sinfónica, en concreto la Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia, la revelación jazzística de los últimos años Zara McFarlane y una de las artistas femeninas más emblemáticas del indie estadounidense Cat Power. Estamos impacientes por ver el resto del cartel. En los últimos días de septiembre se podrán empezar a adquirir los abonos. Toca disfrutar.

From 6-22 November the city will host the 34th edition of what is already a classic on the calendar, with more than a dozen groups to participate in the 2014 edition. Among the first to confirm include the great American saxophonist Branford Marsalis,leading jazz vocalist Gregory Porter, accompanied for the first time in Spain by a a symphony orchestra (Region of Murcia), the recently rising jazz star Zara McFarlane, and one of the most iconic female artists in American indie, Cat Power.

mayor esplendor, los hechos ocurridos hace ya más de dos mil doscientos años, tomando como punto de apoyo y recreación su propia arqueología. Este año todo es especial pues se cumple la XXV edición, y los festeros disfrutarán de un programa cargado de novedades.

Los más de cinco mil cartageneros que participan en estas fiestas, se han involucrado de manera muy especial para conmemorar este aniversario. De este modo, el pasado agosto la ciudad recibió tres cruceros con más de seis mil visitantes que fueron recibido por un pequeño grupo de festeros ataviados con sus trajes. Una muestra más de la unión de la fiesta con la promoción propia de la ciudad.

Los días de fiesta que dura Carthagineses y Romanos se reviven todos los hechos heroicos que ocurrieron en el periodo que se inicia en el año 223 a.C. con la fundación de QartHadast por Asdrúbal Janto El Hermoso y finalizan en el año 209 a.C. con la batalla y la posterior toma de la ciudad por las legiones romanas al mando del General Publio Cornelio Escipión.

La recreación de este ambiente mágico permite disfrutar al cartagenero que participa en las fiestas y a los turistas que

which transpired over 2,200 years ago, based upon local archaeological finds. This year everything promises to be special, as this marks its 25th edition, and participants will enjoy a festival lineup full of firsts.

More than 5,000 Cartagena residents taking part in the festival have been involved in a very special way to commemorate this anniversary. Last August the city welcomed three cruise ships carrying more than 6,000 visitors, who were greeted by a small group of festival participants dressed up in period attire, yet another example of the close relationship between the festival and the promotion of the city.

The Carthaginians and Romans festival reenacts the heroic feats carried out during the period beginning in 223 BC, with the foundation of what was known as Qart-Hadast, by Asdrúbal Xanthos The Fair, and ending in the year 209 BC with the battle and the subsequent taking of the city by Roman legions under the command of General Publius Cornelius Scipio.

The official events program includes a number of daily theatrical performances revolving around episodes in the history of Cartagena, with the added attraction of being able to enjoy them against the backdrop of the city's majestic venues. The culinary aspirations of Jaime Anasagasti Giménez, owner of The Market Madrid, spurred him to open this new restaurant located right in the Chamartin district. Forged by his involvement in major culinary projects in both Spain and the US, he has launched this establishment that invariably dazzles its patrons.

The chef is Javier Caballero, who has headed up several kitchens at renowned restaurants over the course of his extensive career, assisted by Alejandro Terciado in the kitchen and Norma Hernández on the floor.

FESTA DO MARISCO O GROVE *exaltación del mar de Arousa Desde 1963 la llegada del mes de octubre significa la celebración de la Festa do Marisco en este municipio de las Rías Baixas gallegas. Un evento gastronómico cultural de Interés Turístico Nacional que pone de relieve los dos pilares de este enclave costero: el turismo y la pesca.

Since 1963 the arrival of the month of October marks the celebration of the Festa do Marisco (Seafood Festival ) in this town along Galicia's Rías Baixas (estuaries). This is a gastronomic and cultural event of National Touristic Interest spotlighting two of this coastal enclave's cornerstones: its tourist and fishing.

4 ada año, a mediados de agosto, la localidad burgalesa de Oña revive su historia. El Cronicón de Oña es un espectáculo que se desarrolla todos los años, a mediados de agosto, en el interior de la Iglesia del Monasterio de San Salvador. Se trata de un proyecto cultural, o una recreación histórica, que aglutina a los vecinos de la villa. Más de 120 personas dan vida a personajes legendarios y los reyes y condes que descansan en el panteón de nuestro Monasterio.

La escenificación transcurre en los siglos X y XI y en ella se suceden acontecimientos sobre la situación del condado del Castilla, del reino de León y Navarra, así como de los problemas fronterizos con los musulmanes. Destaca la figura del conde castellano Sancho García que en 1011 decide fundar nuestro Monasterio. A los largo de estos 27 años se ha consolidado como una de la recreaciones históricas de referencia en nuestro país.

Every year in mid-August the Burgos town of Oña relives its history: El Cronicón de Oña is a spectacle heldinside the Church of the Monastery of San Salvador, a cultural project and a historical recreation which brings together town residents, as more than 120 people portray legendary characters from the pages of history, including the kings and counts that rest in the pantheon of the monastery.

The staging portrays events from 10th and 11th centuries involving the County of Castile, the Kingdoms of León and Navarre, and border problems with the Moors. Of special note is the figure of the Castilian count Sancho García, who in 1011 decide to found the monastery.

Over the course of the last 27 years this event has established itself as one of Spain's leading historical re-enactments.

At this point in the month the international haute cuisine convention is already wrapping up its preparations for its 16th edition. The Kursaal Palace in San Sebastián will be at full throttle to host this major culinary summit from 5 to 8 October.

Bathed in extra virgin With Italy as the guest country, this brand-new event will be submerged in a wide variety of olive oils, fused with Mediterranean cooking, as chefs totalling 30 Italian Michelin stars will show off the best in the country's cuisine, from both north and south, accompanied by some exquisite oils.
