Madrid se convierte en un gran festival durante los meses de verano gracias a Los Veranos de la Villa repartiendo una variada programación cultural y de ocio por los 21 distritos de la ciudad. En la línea de sus últimas ediciones, los espacios tendrán un protagonismo especial. Hasta el próximo 2 de septiembre música, cine, teatro, danza, espectáculos alternativos son algunas de las actividades que se pueden disfrutar dentro de la oferta compuesta por 75 propuestas y 36 escenarios preparados.

Madrid transforms into one great festival during the summer months thanks to Los Veranos de la Villa, the entertainment series boasting a variety of cultural and leisure offerings throughout the city's 21 districts. Continuing along the line of its latest editions, its venues will play a special role. Until September 2, music, film, theatre, dance and alternative shows are some of the activities that can be enjoyed as part of the line-up, comprised of 75 attractions on 36 different stages.

Esta nueva exposición explicará durante todo el verano el salto de personajes y tramas de la literatura clásica al movimiento y a la sensibilidad del cine de animación. Organizada con The Walt Disney Animation Research Library, muestra una amplia selección de materiales originales desde dibujos en acuarelas hasta impresiones digitales, guiando al visitante por la trayectoria de los estudios. Incluye algunos fragmentos de producción, storyboards y evolución de personajes que permiten comprender el proceso que hizo posible la adaptación de estas historias clásicas, contando las leyendas norteamericanas y cuentos de hadas.

The Magic of Disney Comes to the CaixaForum Madrid. Throughout the summer, this new exhibition will explain the leap of characters and plots from classical literature to the movement and sensibility of animated cinema. Organised with The Walt Disney Animation Research Library, it features a wide selection of original materials, from watercoulor drawings to digital prints, guiding the visitor through the studios’ activity. It includes some production fragments, storyboards, and the evolution of the characters, allowing us to understand the process that made possible the adaptations of these classic stories, from American legends to fairy tales.

Durante casi dos meses la Fiesta Corral Cervantes nos inunda de teatro, música, gastronomía y versos. Un gran evento lúdico y cultural en plena calle y centro de Madrid en el cual encontrar una reinterpretación actual de un antiguo corral de comedias del siglo de oro, con un escenario propio donde podrán verse La Fierecilla, El Lazarillo de Tormes o Don Gil de las Calzas Verdes. Con una extensa programación para todos los públicos, incluidos los más pequeños, complementada con una gran variedad de zonas de restauración, terrazas, zona infantil y artesanos que no dejarán indiferentes a nadie.

For almost two months, the Fiesta Corral Cervantes brings us lots of theatre, music, gastronomy and poetry. A great recreational and cultural event out on the street and in the center of Madrid, where you can find a modern reinterpretation of an old corral de comedies (theatre) from the Golden Age, with its own stage, on which to see La Fierecilla (The Taming of the Shrew), El Lazarillo de Tormes or Don Gil de las Calzas Verdes (Don Gil of the Green Breeches). An extensive programme for all audiences, including kids, rounded out by a wide variety of dining areas, outdoor refreshments, a children's zone, and artisans who are to sure to please.

FESTIVAL EXPERIMENTAL DE TEATRO CLÁSICO En esta sexta edición encontramos un predominio de textos de autores españoles como Cervantes, Calderón de la Barca o Lope de Vega.

Abrirá el festival Se busca (16-17J), un proyecto de Tabula Rasa que a partir de La Odisea de Homero y El golfo de las sirenas de Calderón de la Barca. En los siguientes días del festival el auténtico protagonista será Lope de Vega, con tres montajes inspirados en su obra: La bella Aurora Puf (18-19J) de la cía. Todo Antes Era Comedia; de la Escuela Nave 73 y Grumelot Fucking Lope (20-21J); y, por último, de Pedro Víllora y José Padilla La Gatomaquia (22-23J). De Cervantes la compañía Off Lírico nos presentará Quijano (24-25J) y Shakespeare estará presente con La fierecilla domada (26-27J) de la mano de La Dalia Negra poniendo sobre la mesa temas como el feminismo y la igualdad de género. De nuevo será Lope quien cierre la presente edición de clasicOFF con su archiconocido El perro del hortelano (2829J) de Hilanderas Producciones. Así es y ha sido siempre clasicOFF: llega cuando ya no lo esperabas, te sacude por dentro, te rompe los esquemas, te abre la mente, te da una nueva visión de las cosas, pero siempre teniendo en cuenta la sabiduría de los clásicos.

In this sixth edition works by Spanish authors – such as Cervantes, Calderón de la Barca and Lope de Vega – predominate. Se busca (1617J) kicks off the festival, a project by Tabula Rasa based on Homer's Odyssey and The Gulf of the Sirens by Calderón de la Barca. In the following days of the event the true star will be Lope de Vega, with three stagings inspired by his works: The Beautiful Aurora Puf (18-19J), by the company Todo Antes Era Comedia; the Escuela Nave 73 and Grumelot theatre companies, with Fucking Lope (20-21J); and, finally, Pedro Víllora and José Padilla, with La Gatomaquia (22-23J). This year, on the occasion of a retrospective Gus Van Sant exhibition, the programme will revolve around the filmmaker, presenting a look at the most influential films by the American director.

Medida por medida es una de las más grandes obras de Shakespeare. Emilio del Valle e Isidro Timón han versionado esta clásica comedia impura con el sexo, muerte, poder y corrupción como temas centrales. Cuestiones vitales que harán reflexionar sobre el comportamiento propio. La acción sitúa al público en Viena, donde el duque Vicentio que gobierna la ciudad, incapaz de aplicar las leyes cristianas que castigan las prácticas sexuales, delega el poder en Ángelo, un inquisidor incorruptible. Tras dimitir, Vicentio disfrazado de fraile contempla las actuaciones de éste. En su primera decisión como juez supremo, Ángelo castiga a Claudio, joven vienés, a morir por un delito de lujuria. La hermana del condenado, Isabella, una bella aspirante a monja, trata de salvarle la vida suplicándole a Ángelo que perdone la vida de su hermano. Movido por el deseo, le propone un indecoroso trato, el cual trata de turbar el carácter de la joven, anulando su inteligencia, para finalmente pervertir la virtud y aprovecharse de su belleza. A todo esto Vicentio, quién observa todo lo que pasa, también se enamora de Isabella, tratando de hacerla suya mediante el voto de obediencia a la máxima autoridad política. Measure by Measure is one of Shakespeare's greatest works. Emilio del Valle and Isidro Timón have created their own version of this classic, irreverent comedy, featuring sex, death, power and corruption as central themes, vital issues that prompt reflection on one's behavior. The action takes place in Vienna, where Duke Vincentio, who governs the city, unable to enforce the Christian laws that punish sexual practices, delegates power to Angelo, an incorruptible inquisitor. After resigning, Vincentio, disguised as a friar, spies on his his actions. In his first decision as supreme judge, Angelo punishes Claudio, a young Viennese, to die for a crime of debauchery. His sister, the beautiful Isabella, who is to become a nun, seeks to save her brother, begging Angelo to spare his life. Spurred by desire, he proposes an unseemly deal, which seeks to corrupt the young woman's character, annul her intelligence, and pervert her virtue, taking advantage of her beauty.

Vincentio, meanwhile, who observes all this, also falls in love with Isabella, and tries to make her his through a vow of obedience to the highest political authority.

Oviedo es un suave tornado de historia, arte, elegancia, distinguida hostelería, curiosos rincones y calles señoriales y citas culturales y festivas que la hacen muy atractiva. Esta pequeña ciudad es la capital del Principado de Asturias desde que así lo decidió en el siglo VIII el rey Alfonso II el Casto. En el año 813 partió hacia Iria Flavia para rendirle homenaje al recién descubierto sepulcro del apóstol Santiago creando, sin saberlo, el mundialmente conocido Camino de Santiago Primitivo que nace en estas calles.

Un sin fin de planes y propuestas se esconden en esta ciudad. Desde bien temprano, una buena opción es regalarse un desayuno en cualquiera de sus afamadas confiterías, como por ejemplo en Rialto: todo un clásico que lleva ofreciendo desde 1926 sus deliciosos pasteles, o en La Mallorquina, fundada en 1929, con una gran terraza cubierta en el corazón del Oviedo peatonal. Si tras este desayuno de lujo nos entran las ganas de disfrutar del arte, la ciudad nos brindará la mejor de las sorpresas con sus tesoros prerrománicos a pie de calle, o en plena Naturaleza. Podemos encontrarnos desde las zonas con más encanto de la capital para tomar un aperitivo, las clásicas zonas de vinos, o los restaurantes y sidrerías que inundan la ciudad de los mejores platos y productos.

Como en cualquier ciudad, las compras forman parte de la visita turística. Artesanos del lujo en joyería, tiendas de artesanía y complementos son su mayor referencia. Si de artesanía de la tierra astur se trata, una de las más típicas en Oviedo, entre otras muchas tiendas, es Escanda, un longevo taller en el que la esencia de la Asturias más tradicional está siempre presente.

A visit to its Asturian, Pre-Romanesque monuments is a must, all of them having been named World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Oviedo's hotel and culinary options are highly varied. Its gastronomy is one of the city's main attractions; it is estimated that there is a place to eat for every 120 inhabitants, so visitors have plenty to choose from. You have

everything from the most charming areas of the capital, to enjoy an aperitif, the classic wine area, or restaurants and cider houses that fill the city with the very best dishes and products.

As in any city, shopping is part of the tourist's visit too. Highend artisanal jewellery, arts and crafts, and accessory shops are the highlights. When it comes to Asturian crafts, some of the most typical are found in Oviedo.

Among many other shops, there is Escanda, a long-standing workshop upholding the essence of traditional Asturias.

Entre los Sanfermines y la Tomatina encontramos en Ciudad Real otro popular evento que llena sus calles entorno al último día del mes de julio y que aúna tradición, fiesta, cultura, gastronomía y ganas de pasarlo bien.

El origen de esta fiesta está en la ofrenda de los primeros frutos que se hacía a la Patrona, la Virgen del Prado. El “Pandorgo” representante del pueblo manchego es nombrado en la Plaza Mayor y comienza un colorido pasacalles hasta los Jardines del Prado, en el que las asociaciones y entidades portan su simbólica ofrenda de flores y frutos.

La música y el baile son protagonistas en distintos formatos: el folklore junto al Prado, donde el Pandorgo “de hogaño” realiza su “convidá” a "limoná" y a garbanzos “torraos”. El pop, junto a la Puerta de Toledo, unos días antes con David Otero, Laura Durand y Reyko. Los distintos estilos del reggae en el Parque de Gasset. Y la música de la orquestas resonando en el centro, donde no se duerme, con miles de ataviadas con el pañuelo de yerbas, y que tampoco quieren perderse los toros de fuego.

La "limoná", que corre por las venas de los ciudadrealeños, se hace Concurso en el que participan cientos de cuadrillas de peñas y asociaciones por ver quién la hace mejor… y para refrescarse, los jóvenes se la tiran unos a otros en La Pradera, al ritmo de la música dance y urbana.

Una fiesta que como novedad este año incorpora la “Pandorga Run”, una carrera popular de 4 kilómetros para disfrutar en familia o un micrófono abierto en el 25 aniversario de los Premios Literarios de la Hermandad de Pandorgos. Y es que la cultura, la gastronomía, la tradición y la modernidad vuelven a conjugarse para atraer a cada año más las personas que desde distintos puntos del país.

Between Los Sanfermines (Running of the Bulls) and La Tomatina (tomato festival) we find in Ciudad Real another popular event that fills its streets at the end of July, combining tradition, celebration, culture, gastronomy and the desire to have fun.

The origins of this festival stem back to the offerings of the first

fruits made to the Patroness, La Virgen del Prado. The "Pandorgo", a representative of the people of La Mancha, is named in the Main Square, and there begins a colourful parade to the Jardines del Prado (gardens), in which different associations and entities carry their symbolic offerings of flowers and fruits.

Music and dance abound, in a range of different formats: folklore next to the Prado, where this year's Pandorgo invites the attendees to lemonade and torraos (chickpeas). There will be pop, by the Puerta de Toledo (city gate), a few days before, with David Otero, Laura Durand and Reyko, and different styles of reggae in the Parque de Gasset.

The music of bands resonates through the centre, where no one sleeps, with thousands of people donning traditional kerchiefs, and where no one wants to miss the “bulls of fire”.

The limoná, running through the veins of Ciudad Real, becomes a contest in which hundreds clubs and associations participate to see who makes it better ... and, to cool off, young people throw it at each other in La Pradera,

along with dancing and music.

A festival that, as a novelty this year, will include the "Pandorga Run", a 4-km race for everyone to enjoy as a family, and an open mic event on the 25th anniversary of the Literary Prizes of the Hermandad (Brotherhood) de Pandorgos.

Culture, gastronomy, tradition and modernity once again converge to attract more and more people from different points all across the country.

FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE TEATRO CLÁSICO DE MÉRIDA

*la mirada de un cómico sobre la tragedia griega

Rafael Álvarez “El Brujo” vuelve este 2018 al Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Mérida con Esquilo. Nacimiento y muerte de la tragedia. El actor y director cordobés se ha querido enfrentar en solitario al público del Teatro Romano de Mérida para abordar desde la risa el espíritu de los textos clásicos con una comedia sobre la tragedia antigua. Tras su éxito en ediciones anteriores con obras como La Odisea en 2012 y El asno de oro en 2013, vuelve con un aire más cómico. Muchas de las obras de Esquilo, como Prometeo, la Orestíada, Los persas o Las suplicantes, se han llevado a escena en el Teatro Romano de Mérida a lo largo de la historia del Festival. Ahora Rafael Álvarez las ha procesado en la máquina del humor para hacer una reflexión irónica de los textos clásicos.

“El Brujo” explica que es una conferencia, el teatro es un pretexto a modo de parodia para dar una conferencia sobre el espíritu antiguo de la tragedia que representa Esquilo, basado en el libro de Nietzsche El nacimiento de la tragedia en el espíritu de la música, todo ello desde el punto de vista de un cómico que tiene que mirar la tragedia de manera que el público ría constantemente desde el principio al final.

Como ya hizo en sus anteriores montajes, el actor continúa explorando la línea de trabajo basada en el ‘actor solista’, tradición europea que se remonta a los juglares antiguos y cuyo exponente más prestigioso es el premio nobel Dario Fo. Esta comedia mantiene el sello personal que caracteriza los espectáculos del actor, que ofrece al público, una relectura de los textos clásicos tratando de extraer los valores universales contenidos en ellos con el humor con la mímica y el sonido como hilo conductor. El relato está apoyado en escena por la música en directo de Javier Alejano.

In 2018 Rafael Álvarez, aka The Wizard, returns to the International Classic Theatre Festival of Mérida, with Aeschylus: The Birth and Death of Tragedy. The actor and director from Cordoba has opted to go solo before audiences at Mérida's Roman Theatre to approach the spirit of classical texts from a comical viewpoint, presenting a comedy all about ancient tragedy. After his success in previous editions, with works like The Odyssey, in 2012 and The Golden Ass, in 2013 he returns, this time with a lighter air. Many of Aeschylus's works, such as Prometheus, Oresteia, The Persians and The Suppliants, have been staged at Mérida's Roman Theatre at some point during the history of the Festival. Now Rafael Álvarez places a humorous twist on them, making sarcastic reflections on these classical texts.

The Wizard explains that this theatre is a pretext for a parody of the ancient spirit of tragedy represented by Aeschylus, based on Nietzsche’s The Birth of Tragedy in the Spirit of Music, all from the perspective of a comedian who must view tragedy in such a way that the audience laughs constantly, from the beginning to the end. As he did in his previous productions, the actor continues to explore a line of work based on solo acting, a European tradition that goes back to the ancient minstrels, and whose premier exponent is Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo. This comedy bears the personal stamp that characterises the actor's shows, offering the audience a "rereading" of the classical texts in an effort to extract, through humour, the universal values contained in them, with mimicry and sound as common threads woven throughout. a entrega del Ducado y las llaves de la Villa por D. Enrique IV de Castilla, al primer Duque de Alburquerque Don Beltrán de la Cueva que se encuentra en el Castillo de Luna acompañado de su corte el 26 de noviembre de 1464.

Es pues este momento histórico, el hilo conductor de todos los actos que componen un extenso programa que se llevará a cabo a lo largo de tres días, en el tercer fin de semana de agosto.

Así se desarrolla teatro en el interior del Castillo de Luna, conciertos, pasacalles, torneos de exhibición, tortura, aquelarre… que permiten a los alburquerqueños recrear momentos del pasado glorioso de esta villa.

Se hace notar la presencia y convivencia pacífica de las tres culturas de la época, la cristiana, judía y musulmana que están representadas en multitud de actos y en la gastronomía. Es de destacar el tesón y el trabajo de todos los alburquerqueños que hacen posible realizar esta fiesta año tras año. Durante estos días la única moneda de uso es el maravedí.

This historical act constitutes the common thread woven through all the events and activities that make up an extensive programme, slated to take place over three days on the third weekend of August.

There will be theatre at the Castillo de Luna, along with concerts, parades, show tournaments... allowing the locals to relive moments from the town's glorious past.

The presence and peaceful coexistence of the three cultures of the era - Christian, Jewish and Muslim - is spotlighted through a series of acts, and foods. Of special note is the cooperation and efforts made by all the local albuquerqueños, who come together to make this celebration possible year after year, where, for a few days, the only valid currency is the old maravedí.

La fiesta de la cerveza de Madrid está de vuelta y tendrá lugar en el WiZink Center los días 27, 28 y 29 de septiembre, en la que será su 5ª edición. La Oktoberfest de Madrid nació en 2014, y ha conseguido agotar todas las entradas en sus ediciones pasadas y atraer a cerca de 80.000 espectadores al recinto, dividido en diferentes sesiones para disfrutar de música en vivo y la mejor cerveza y gastronomía alemana.

Abrirá sus puertas el día 27, en su tradicional jornada inaugural con la ceremonia de rotura del primer barril.

Este año además, se celebrará una fiesta especial de aniversario en la que se conmemorarán las ediciones anteriores y en la que habrá muchas sorpresas. La parte esencial de esta fiesta es la cerveza, volviendo a ser la König Ludwig, la cerveza original de la primera Oktoberfest que se sirvió en la boda del rey Ludwig con la princesa Teresa y que dio origen a la tradición de la mundialmente conocida fiesta de la cerveza. En cuanto a la gastronomía se podrán degustar los principales platos típicos Bávaros, como salchichas, codillos y bretzels, todo ello preparado por los especialistas de catering Mallorca.

Como novedad este año 2018 la organización ha establecido un precio único de 15€ por persona para todas las entradas de mesa reservada, incluyendo un litro de cerveza; y se podrán adquirir aparte durante la compra online más litros de cerveza extra o combos de comida.

Madrid's very own beer festival is back, slated to take place at the WiZink Center on September 27, 28 and 29, in what will be its 5th edition. Madrid's Oktoberfest was inaugurated in 2014, and has managed to sell out at its past editions, and attract nearly 80,000 people to the event, divided into different sessions to enjoy live music and the very best beer and German cuisine.

It will open its doors on the 27th, with opening day featuring the traditional breaking of the first barrel ceremony. This year a special anniversary party will be held at which the previous editions will be commemorated, along with many surprises. The centrepiece of this festival is beer, specifically, König Ludwig, the original beer of the first Oktoberfest, and that served at the wedding of King Ludwig and Princess Teresa – the event that gave rise to this world-famous beer-based festival. As for the food, attendees can savour typical Bavarian dishes, like sausages, ham hock, and pretzels, all prepared by the catering specialists at Mallorca.

As a novelty this year, 2018, the organization has set a standard price of €15 per person for all reserved table tickets, which includes a litre of beer. Additional litres and food combos may be purchased separately online.

Este año vuelve una de las grandes citas de la cultura cannábica. Con siete años de existencia, los días 14, 15 y 16 de septiembre se celebra EXPOGROW, la Feria internacional del Cannabis. El evento tendrá lugar en Irún, una ciudad costera situada en la Bahía de Txingudi donde confluyen mar, ríos y montañas, en el estuario del Bidasoa, frontera natural entre España y Francia. La Feria cuenta con una variada programación dentro del recinto Ficoba destacando el Box Forum, con invitados expertos en la temática como Diego Silva de Uruguay, Amber Marks de UK y la española Araceli Manjón entre otros o las actividades de ocio y animación. También se podrá encontrar una sesión B2B para profesionales, una zona de recreo al aire libre y gastronomía.

Todo un lujo para los amantes del universo verde.

Sin embargo, dentro de esta amplia oferta, una de las más atrayentes es El Festival de Música de EXPOGROW, un gran incentivo para los profesionales y también para el público que asiste a cada una de sus ediciones. Todo esto ha logrado que el conocido banco de semillas Sensi Seeds sea por primera vez el patrocinador de los conciertos que tendrán lugar bajo la carpa instalada en la zona exterior de la feria. La marca holandesa y más específicamente su creador Ben Dronkers son -junto a un selecto grupo de emprendedores de la década de los sesenta y setenta- los fundadores del sector del cannabis y el cáñamo en Europa.

Of the great cannabis culture events is back: EXPOGROW runs from 14-16 September, the International Cannabis Fair, now in its 7th year. The event will take place in Irún, a coastal city located on the Bay of Txingudi, where the sea, rivers and mountains converge, in the estuary of Bidasoa, a natural border between Spain and France. La hoja de plátano por mario de las heras

No puede esperar más. A través del escaparate se ve que aún hay demasiada gente. Comienza a caminar en círculos sin perder de vista el establecimiento. Una chica con el pelo rojo y con zapatos de tacón espera en el portal de al lado. Aparece su novio, o su marido, vestido con traje. Lleva un maletín en la mano. “No te pega nada ese maletín con ese traje tan bonito, cariño”, dice ella dándole un beso en los labios al tiempo que le aprieta el nudo de la corbata. “¡Qué más da!”, dice él. ¿Vamos ahora al videoclub? Él mira el reloj y descubre, sobre el suelo seco, una hoja de plátano que conserva aún, bordeando su contorno perfecto, el rastro de humedad de la lluvia. La chica del pelo rojo regresa: “¡Yo me voy subiendo cielo!, ¿coge una bonita, eh?”

Decide entrar sin más remedio. Las puertas se abren con un zumbido. De frente hay un anaquel con productos variados.

Se fija en la “Crema para bebés dermoprotectora factor treinta” y en las “Pulseras anti reuma Rayma y Rayma Q”. Las Rayma son de color cobrizo y las Rayma Q de color plateado. “Hola, quería…”, dice con voz ensayada. Siente como el hombre que le precede, que todavía está ahí, le observa mientras guarda su compra en una bolsa. “Son… con treinta”, dice la dependienta.

Ahora ha vuelto a escuchar el zumbido, pero ya no le importa.

Afuera le recibe un agradable viento fresco. La hoja de plátano ya está deshecha y acaba de cruzarse con el novio, o el marido, del maletín que vuelve con él, y con su corbata bien anudada, y también con su película bonita.
