Por fin hemos dicho adiós al invierno, empezó la primavera pero el buen tiempo no se anima a llegar. Ha comenzado Mayo. Con el portazo definitivo al frío os traemos una selección de recomendaciones. Teatro, el turismo o las comidas en los mejores restaurantes son planes que nunca fallan.

We finally bid the winter farewell. Spring has arrived, but the good weather still has not. May is here. With the cold finally gone, we bring you a whole range of recommendations: theatre, tourism and dining at the best restaurants are outings that never fail.

La buena comida no debe faltar. Si lo que te apetece, por el contrario es salir de Madrid, Torroella de Montgrí o el Hotel Puerto Antilla son el destino perfecto para hacer una escapada en familia, si lo que prefieres, es relajarte y desconectar, Hacienda Na Xamena, es el lugar ideal para estar en completa armonía rodeado de la mejor arquitectura y una abundante vegetación en Ibiza. Las Meninas de Velázquez invadirán Madrid a partir de abril y se ubican en calles, plazas y enclaves más reconocidos para expresar cuál es la visión qué tienen sobre la ciudad sus creadores. La iniciativa reinterpreta en forma de escultura a cada una de las damas de honor de la infanta Margarita que aparecen en el famoso cuadro de Velázquez. Se tratará de un museo callejero compuesto con un total de 80 esculturas hechas de fibra de vidrio de 180 centímetros de alto, 160 de fondo y unos 30 kilos de peso. Cada una, de dos metros de altura, portará un mensaje individual y, juntas, ayudarán a desvelar “el mensaje infinito” de Velázquez. El proyecto tiene como nombre Meninas Madrid Gallery y ha sido creado por el artista Antonio Azzato. La exposición ha contado con artistas de la artesanía, la escultura, la pintura y el diseño donde también participan destacadas personalidades del mundo de la cultura. En ella forman parte, entre otros, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Jordi Mollá, Jorge Vázquez, Domingo Zapata, Vicky Martin Berrocal, Pedro Sandoval, Carlos Baute, Margarita Vargas, Blanca Cuesta, Nieves Álvarez, Enrique Ponce o Diego Canogar. Velázquez's meninas (ladies-in-waiting) will invade Madrid from April, to be found on streets, in squares and at emblematic sites, to express their creators' vision of the city. The initiative reinterprets, in the form of sculpture, each of the ladies-in-waiting of the Infanta Margarita, appearing in the famous painting by Velázquez. The result will be an exhibition on the street made up of a total of 80 sculptures made of fibreglass and standing 180 centimetres high, 160 across, and weighing some 30 kilos. Each one will feature an individual message and, together, help unveil Velázquez's "infinite message". The project is named Meninas Madrid Gallery, and was created by the artist Antonio Azzato. The exhibition features the work of craftsmen, sculptors, painters and designers, and includes participation by figures from the world of culture. El WiZink Center acogerá el día 8 de mayo al concierto en directo de la banda sonora de la conocida y exitosa serie de HBO Juego de Tronos. En éste, se recogen los temas más populares de las siete temporadas y mientras son interpretadas, se reproducen algunas de las mejores escenas de la serie contando con diferentes escenarios y efectos visuales dotados con tecnología de última generación. Una experiencia audiovisual donde la música se mezclará con escenas de la producción. El director de orquesta alemán Ramin Djawadi es quien conducirá la interpretación, conocido por haber sido nominado a los premios Grammy por la banda sonora de la película de la película Iron Man y por haber sido el artífice de la música de la serie Juego de Tronos. On May 8th the WiZink Center will present a live concert featuring the soundtrack of the very well-known and successful HBO series Game of Thrones. The show presents some of the most popular tracks from the show's seven seasons, and, while they are performed, some of the best scenes from the series are shown, with different stages and visual effects drawing upon the latest technology. Tras el éxito de cada año y sin parar de crecer desde 1933, La Feria del Libro vuelve al parque del Retiro del 25 de mayo al 10 de junio con su 77ª edición bajo el lema Leer para saber, leer para imaginar. Probabilidades es una obra escrita y dirigida por Chiqui Carabante (trabajando esta vez junto a la Compañía El Hangar en vez de con Club Caníbal). El espectáculo, primer monólogo propio del conocido director, está interpretado por el actor Antonio Aguilar (Pedro y el Capitán) y habla sobre la múltiples posibilidades que se generan en una escena cotidiana a raíz de nuestra toma de decisiones. ¿Dónde estaríamos ahora si hubiéramos actuado de forma diferente en el pasado? ¿Qué probabilidad existiría de mantener a ese amor? La vida, como si fuera una partida de ajedrez, multiplica sus posibilidades a cada movimiento, a cada paso. Cada decisión que tomamos nos abre las puertas de un número ilimitado de opciones que nos plantean nuevas decisiones. Probabilidades trata de un personaje que analiza el último momento que vivió con su pareja. Apenas unas cuantas frases intercambiadas, unas miradas, unos gestos que darán para un sinfín de reflexiones; y cada una de ellas, conduce a una posibilidad perdida de respuesta a esa situación, una posibilidad perdida de conservar el amor. Desde hace 15 años Madrid celebra la Carrera de la mujer que tiñe de rosa las calles de la ciudad. Es un evento solidario que sirve para recaudar fondos para la lucha contra el cáncer de mama y está considerada como la mayor fiesta del deporte femenino a nivel nacional. Este año 2018, se celebra el día 6 de mayo y cuenta con un recorrido de 6,3 km aproximadamente con una duración de 1 hora y 45 minutos para completarla. La prueba comienza en la Calle Princesa y acaba en el Paseo de Camoens, pasando por alguna de las calles más emblemáticas del centro de Madrid. En la edición de 2017 se inscribieron en la prueba 33.000 corredoras. For 15 years Madrid has celebrated the Run for Women, which paints the streets pink for a day. Tres cosas es una comedia romántica de “chica conoce a chico” que trata con humor los más serios temores del ser humano al entrar en una relación: el miedo al fracaso, al sufrimiento y la inseguridad constante de los sentimientos… en definitiva el miedo a vivir. Narra de forma divertida la historia de Dani y Cris, en la que todas las líneas de comunicación desde que se conocen están distorsionadas porque lo difícil para los personajes no es llegar a tener una relación sexual, sino llegar a conocerse realmente, y esto crea un juego de contradicciones entre ellos dos, y en todo el proceso de producción que se desprende durante la obra. Un texto original del escritor, guionista y actor estadounidense Scott Organ, el título que recibe en Inglés es Phoenix y fue premiada en el 2010 Humana Festival Of New American Plays. Esta versión española está dirigida por José Pascual y versionada por Bernabé Rico contando con la interpretación de Candela Fernández y Elías Sevillano como los protagonistas. Tras su éxito en Sevilla, donde el propio autor estuvo presente en el estreno, Tres cosas estará a partir del próximo martes 29 de mayo en el Teatro Bellas Artes de Madrid.

Phoenix is a girl meets boy rom-com that deals with, in a humorous way, people's most serious fears when entering into a relationship: failure, suffering and the constant fragility of feelings... in short, the fear of living. It tells the story of Dani and Cris, who get their wires crossed from beginning because the problem for the characters is not about the sex, but rather really getting to know each other, yielding a game of contradictions between the two of them that emerges during the work. This original text by the writer, screenwriter and American actor Scott Organ was an award-winner at the 2010 Humana Festival Of New American Plays. The Spanish version is directed by José Pascual and produced by Bernabé Rico, and stars Candela Fernández and Elías Sevillano. After its success in Seville, where the author himself attended the premiere, Phoenix will start on May 29 at the Teatro Bellas Artes in Madrid.

Rimas, ritmo y baile. Siempre un mismo nombre, pero siempre un resultado distinto. ¿Por qué? Porque aquí mandas tú, tú lo decides, tú lo escribes y ellos lo hacen. Sí, Reto en el Ghetto es así, un espectáculo de improvisación donde tus pequeñas notas guiarán una gran melodía interpretadas por mc’s, bailarines y un dj. ¿Te apuntas? Pues apúntanoslo que nosotros lo interpretamos. Reto en el Ghetto es una fórmula parecida a los espectáculos de improvisación teatral, pero en este caso es a través de la cultura Hip Hop y sus diferentes técnicas de Freestyle. Los improvisadores son cuatro bailarines, dos raperos y un dj. Un espectáculo donde el público, al entrar, ya participa en el contenido del show, eligiendo los temas y canciones con las que se va a realizar cada sesión. Y sigue participando durante el espectáculo, gracias a las interacciones con el presentador, que crean ese feedback que alimenta tanto a los actores como a la propia audiencia.

Rhymes, rhythm and dance. Always the same name, but always a different result. Why? Because here you're in charge, you decide; you write it, and they do it. Yes, Challenge in the Ghetto is like that: an improvisational show where your little notes shape a great melody performed by MCs, dancers and a DJ. Up for it? Well, write it down, and we'll perform it. Reto en el Ghetto features a formula similar to that of improvisational theatre shows, but in this case through hip-hop culture and its different freestyle techniques. The improvisers are four dancers, two rappers and one DJ. A show where the audience, upon entering, immediately contributes to the content of the show, choosing the themes and songs to be performed at each session. And it continues to participate during the show, through interaction with the presenter, and feedback to which the actors and audience respond.

Del 8 de marzo al 24 de junio la exposición El Principio de Asia. China Japón e India y el arte contemporáneo en España (1957-2017) quiere hacer visible la influencia de las tres culturas nombradas en el arte de la segunda mitad del siglo XX en nuestro país, aspecto muy presente en la obra de los artistas de ese momento pero poco explorado aún hoy en día. Su título toma prestada la acepción que en química se emplea del término “principio”, según la cual un elemento activo, en solitario o junto con otros, “reacciona” al mezclarse o hacerse soluble y produce formas, colores y estructuras nuevas y muy diferentes entre sí. La muestra está compuesta por obras de más de sesenta artistas que han desarrollado su trayectoria artística en España y cuyo trabajo está vinculado con Asia oriental e India. Las más de trescientas piezas asiáticas y occidentales se presentan de manera conjunta, como dos mundos que comparten tiempo y espacio expositivo. Una propuesta que cuenta con relevantes aportaciones procedentes de museos y colecciones internacionales, pero se ha querido primar la presentación de los fondos orientales de colecciones e instituciones públicas y privadas españolas, algunos de ellos tan valiosos como poco conocidos todavía.

From March 8 to June 24 the exhibition The Asia Principle: China, Japan and India and Contemporary Art in Spain (1957-2017) aims to showcase the influence of these three cultures on the art of the second half of the 20th century in our country, an aspect very much present in the work of the artists of that time, but little explored even today. Its title borrows from the meaning of “principle” in Chemistry, according to which an active element, alone or together with others, "reacts" upon mixing or becoming soluble, producing new and very different forms, colors and structures. The exhibition is made up of works by more than 60 artists with artistic careers in Spain and whose work is linked to East Asia and India. The more than 300 Asian and Western pieces are presented jointly, as two worlds that share time and the exhibition space. The exhibition features important works from museums and international collections, with a special stress on the presentation of Oriental collections from public and private Spanish institutions, some of them highly valuable but still quite obscure.

Esta tradicional taberna, como le gusta denominarse, ha pasado de servir los típicos chatos de vino a pie de calle en los años 60 a recibir a todo tipo de personalidades a los que gusta dar un trato familiar. Close Your Eyes, Ona is an illustrated children's story that teaches kids to relax through Yoga and Mindfulness, a simple way to introduce us to the world of Children's Yoga, where we learn relaxation and breathing techniques and practice Mindfulness as a family. einando Alfonso IX de León, hacia el año 1230, la villa de Jerez de los Caballeros fue reconquistada con la ayuda de la Orden de los Caballeros del Temple. Ese mismo año el rey fallece, aprovechando los musulmanes para recuperar de nuevo la zona perdida, hasta que en 1238, con la llegada de Fernando III el Santo a Badajoz, los templarios retoman las campañas apoderándose definitivamente de la tan deseada villa de Xerez. Dueños de Jerez los templarios, la engrandecieron notablemente. Comenzaba así un siglo de esplendor que hizo de Jerez de los Caballeros una de las villas más destacadas de la Corona de Castilla. A este pasado templario le debemos la fortificación del castillo sobre la antigua alcazaba árabe y la construcción de la amplia muralla que hoy conocemos, llegando a ser nombrada capital del Bayliato de la Orden del Temple El Concilio de Vienne, convocado en 1311 por el Papa Clemente V bajo la presión del rey francés Felipe IV, finalizó con la condenación y excomunión de los templarios.

The Templars, as the rulers of Jerez, greatly enriched it. Thus began a century of splendour that made Jerez de los Caballeros one of the most outstanding towns in the Crown of Castile. It is to this Templar past that we owe the fortification of the castle on the former Arab citadel and the construction of the large wall that we know today. It was named the capital of the Domain of the Templars at The Council of Vienne, convened in 1311 by Pope Clement V under pressure from the French King Philip IV, before the Templars' ultimate condemnation and excommunication.
