La tercera estación del año se ha apropiado de las calles de la ciudad. Aunque la lluvia ha llegado tarde, los árboles ya están llenando el suelo de los parques y jardines con los colores de temporada amarillos, ocres y marrones.

The third season of the year has spilled onto the streets of the city. Although the rain has arrived behind schedule, the trees are sprinkling the ground at parks and gardens with the season's signature colors: brown, yellow and ocher.

CUENTA CON EL GRIFO MÁS ANTIGUO DE GUINNESS, ADEMÁS DEL RECONOCIMIENTO COMO LA MEJOR CERVECERÍA PILSEN DE ESPAÑA BOASTING THE OLDEST TAP FOR GUINNESS, IN ADDITION TO RECOGNITION AS SPAIN'S BEST PILSNER BEER HOUSE Las bodegas de la Ardosa deben su nombre a la comarca vinícola de Toledo. A finales del siglo XIX, Rafael Fernández decidió abrir esta cadena de bodegas para comercializar el vino que producían sus viñedos. En la actualidad subsisten apenas cuatro de ellas pero en aquellos tiempos llegaron a pasar la treintena. Hasta finales de los setenta el negocio se centraba en la venta de graneles y botellas aunque también disponían de una típica barra de estaño donde se consumían bebidas. Fue a partir del año 1979 cuando Gregorio Monje enfocó el negocio más como cervecería que como bodega, influido mayormente por las modernas normativas que prohibieron la venta de graneles. En la actualidad en esta bodega se puede disfrutar de excelentes tapas variadas y una exquisita cerveza checa reconocida mundialmente. MÁS RITMO EN EL WIZINK CENTER *los grandes de la música visten Madrid

El WiZink Center de Madrid es el principal recinto de la capital y uno de los más importantes de Europa en número de eventos. De hecho, el ranking internacional “Top 200 World Arenas” lo posiciona como el 14º del mundo y el 6º a nivel europeo. En noviembre, el recinto madrileño recibirá a grandes internacionales como Shakira, que regresa con El Dorado World Tour y Jamiroquai, que presentará su disco Automaton. Junto a ellos, artistas como 30 Seconds to Mars, Luis Fonsi, Kygo, Alejandro Sanz, Pablo Alborán, Malú o Charlie Puth estarán en los Premios 40, que celebran una nueva edición en este recinto el 10 de noviembre. Además, Noviembre será testigo de una nueva edición de la Gala Por Ellas o del concierto tributo a Queen, Dios Salve a la Reina; así como de una nueva entrega del espectáculo de Wrestling WLive o del festival Locos por la Música. Revólver repetirá junto a Despistaos, y también se estrenarán en el recinto grupos como Love of Lesbian, Bonobo, el ex Extremoduro Robe Iniesta o Fuel Fandango, que cerrarán un mes de lo más intenso. Por si esto fuera poco, la actividad deportiva continuará su curso, y los equipos locales, el Real Madrid de baloncesto y el Movistar Estudiantes, disputarán varios partidos de Liga Endesa y Euroliga.

ZORRILLA, EL POETA POPULAR *homenaje al “trovador del pueblo”

La Biblioteca Nacional acoge esta exposición 200 años después del nacimiento de uno de los literatos más importantes de la cultura Española. José Zorrilla fue considerado como “el trovador del pueblo” y tal vez precisamente por eso, sus versos fueron tan conocidos y recitados en su tiempo. Esta muestra, del 19 de septiembre hasta el 21 de Enero de 2018, quiere recordar al poeta reconstruyendo su biografía desde su nacimiento hasta la época en la que vivió a través de los fondos que se conservan en sus depósitos. La colección se divide en tres partes. La primera repasa la trayectoria de Zorrilla para conocer desde los lugares que frecuentó en su juventud, hasta llegar a los reconocimientos públicos que se le hicieron. La segunda parte se ocupa de una de sus actividades principales: el teatro, al que dedicó casi toda su vida. Además, se expondrán no solo sus piezas teatrales más importantes sino también algunos de sus manuscritos. La última división de la exposición se centrará en el mundo legendario que creó a través de composiciones como Cantos del trovador, La leyenda del Cid o Ecos de las montañas. Construyó Zorrilla con sus obras un mundo medieval tan fantástico e imaginativo que atrajo enormemente la atención de los ilustradores más importantes de su época, cuyas obras podremos ver también en la exposición. Este escritor, quien algún día confesó que paso su juventud resguardándose del frio en la Biblioteca Nacional, vuelve ahora por la puerta grande para encontrarse nuevamente con su ansiado y hospitalario hogar.

The National Library hosts this exhibition, 200 years after the birth of one of Spanish culture's most important writers. José Zorrilla was considered as "the troubadour of the people" and perhaps precisely because of this, his verses were so well known and recited in his time. This exhibition, from September 19 to January 21, 2018, seeks to remember and honour the poet by telling the story of his life, from his birth, to the era during which he lived, through a set of items pertaining to his life and career. The collection is divided into three parts. The first one traces Zorrilla's life, from the places he frequented in his youth, to the public recognitions that he received. The second part deals with one of his main activities: the theatre, to which he devoted most of his life. The exhibit will feature not only his most important plays, but also some of his manuscripts. The last division of the exhibition will focus on the legendary world that he created in his compositions, such as Songs of the Troubadour, The Legend of the Cid, and Echoes of the Mountains. In his works Zorrilla created a medieval world so fantastic and imaginative that it captured the attention of the most important illustrators of his time, whose works are also featured in the exhibition. This writer, who once confessed that he spent his youth seeking shelter from the cold in the National Library, now returns, in glory, to his beloved and hospitable haunt.

When people talk about cruises, we all tend to envision the typical megaboat consisting of a stack of endless floors, but Star Clippers is another way to sail, offering the atmosphere of a vessel from the golden age of the clipper ships, but with all the safety and services of a 21st-century ship. To embark on them is to enjoy a experience reminiscent of legendary journeys on the seven seas during a bygone era, in ships large enough to offer first-class lodging and service, but small enough to dock in more intimate ports, far from the great giants of the sea. A LITTLE NAVAL HISTORY The "clipper ships" were thus dubbed for how they clipped the waves. The most famous of the old clippers was the Cutty Sark, now berthed in Greenwich, near London. Los chicos de las gafas de colores y la idea del millón Alex Huertas y Héctor Rey / Fundadores de Northweek Alex y Héctor, dos amigos de toda la vida ahora con 24 y 25 años, fundaron Northweek hace 4 años. A los dos meses ya tenían 20 mil euros facturados. A los dos años, 2 millones, a los tres 4 millones y este año ¡van a por los ocho! Alex and Hector, two lifelong friends, now aged 24 and 25, founded Northweek 4 years ago. Two months later they had already billed 20 thousand euros. Two years after that, it was 2 million; after three years, 4 million; and this year they are going for 8! ¿Cómo comenzó todo?

How did this all start?

Un día vimos que lo que queríamos era crear nuestro propio trabajo, ganar la vida de una manera divertida y entre amigos. Descubrimos que no existían gafas personalizables en España y mucho menos con buenos materiales y buen precio y apostamos en ello. Con un capital inicial de 6.000 euros (el total de nuestros ahorros). Así nació Northweek. Solo a través del boca a boca ya había mil reservas antes de salir nuestro comercio online en 2013. Cuando lo lanzamos ya teníamos todo nuestro stock agotado. Y desde ahí fuimos creciendo.

One day we realised that what we wanted was to create our own jobs, to earn a living in a fun way, and with friends. We discovered that there were no customisable glasses in Spain, and there certainly weren't any made of good materials, and at good prices. So, we went for it. Our initial capital was 6,000 euros (all our savings). That was how Northweek was created. Just by word of mouth, we already had 1,000 orders before our store went on line in 2013. By the time we opened, we were out of stock. And from there, we grew.

Nosotros desde el principio le pusimos muchas ganas, mucho empeño y actitud, siempre pensando en ello las 24 horas y al final gracias a todo ello se acaba triunfando. Si tú quieres emprender es lo básico, lo mínimo, ponerle ganas y empeño. Éstos son los principios básicos no sólo para emprender sino para cualquier cosa que una persona quiera sacar adelante. Si crees que eres capaz de hacerlo, ¡a por ello!

From the beginning, we really wanted to do it. We made a big effort, and had an all-out attitude, thinking about it, 24 hours a day. In the end, thanks to all that, we ended up succeeding. If you want to start a business, that is the minimum, and the essential thing: you have to want it, and be determined. El ordenador conectado a Big Ear imprimió esa noche en el papel continuo, hasta entonces lleno de aburridos ceros y unos correspondientes al ruido de fondo del universo, el código alfanumérico 6EQUJ5, que reflejaba una señal treinta veces más intensa que la radiación de fondo. Aún hoy sigue sin explicación su origen. Big Ear fue el proyecto SETI más largo de la historia. El observatorio fue desmontado 21 años después, en 1998, cuando el terreno de la universidad fue adquirido para ampliar un campo de golf.
