Por fin hemos dicho adiós al invierno, a los días cortos, a esa climatología que nos pone en bandeja la incertidumbre de cara al aire libre. Por fin. Ya tenemos con nosotros de la mano su antónimo, el buen tiempo, los días largos, y la climatología…, habrá que aprender algo del cambio climático. Ya está aquí el verano.
At last we have said goodbye to the winter, the short days, to that ominous weather always threatening to spoil our outdoor plans. At last. We are already immersed in its opposite: good weather, long days ... we will have to learn something from climate change. The summer is here.
Y ya sabemos lo que eso significa. Nos colocamos la sonrisa en la cara y nos disponemos a invertir tiempo libre, o al menos a inventarnos ese tiempo libre. Nos encontramos, no de improviso, con la época de festivales. Música y artes escénicas salpican el calendario en toda la geografía. Nos asomamos a algunos de nuestros favoritos: Clásicos en Alcalá, La Mar de Músicas, Festival de Guitarra de Córdoba, Starlite, Leyendas del Rock o el Festival de Mérida. We are heading into, not unexpectedly, the summer music festival season, as music and the performing arts fill the calendar all over the country. Ciencia de acogida es una exposición que utiliza la ciencia como llave para sensibilizar a la sociedad sobre la situación actual de los refugiados, poniendo en valor la importancia de la investigación científica a través de la vida y aportaciones de conocidos exiliados del mundo de la ciencia y en particular de las contribuciones de las mujeres en un contexto histórico en el que no solo fueron víctimas de los regímenes dictatoriales sino que tuvieron que vivir en una sociedad hecha por y para los hombres. Organizada por Principia, se puede disfrutar en CentroCentro hasta mediados de septiembre. Ciencia de Acogida is an exhibition that uses science as a way to raise the public's awareness of the plight of today's refugees, stressing the importance of scientific research through the lives and contributions of well-known refugees from the world of science, in particular the contributions of women in a historical context in which they were not only victims of dictatorial regimes, but had to live in a society made by and for men. THE WORLD PRIDE EXPERIENCE Coincidiendo con la gran fiesta del Orgullo Mundial en Madrid, nace el festival The World Pride Experience organizado por Marta, Cariño! con la ambición de convertirse en una cita anual ineludible gracias a una oferta de artes escénicas, gastronomía, cine, música y la creación del festival Flamenco Diverso, todo desde el prisma del LGBT. Se celebrará en los Teatros Luchana y el Teatro Coliseum entre el 22 de junio y el 2 de julio.
Coinciding with the international gay pride celebration in Madrid (WorldPride Madrid 2017), the World Pride Experience is born, organized by “Marta, Cariño!,” with a view to becoming an essential annual event thanks to its range of performing arts, cuisine, cinema and music; and the creation of the Flamenco Diverso festival, all from an LGBT perspective. It will be held at the Teatros Luchana and the Teatro Coliseum (theatres) from June 22 to July.
La programación de artes escénicas cuenta con dos importantes estrenos: Mariquita aparece ahogada en una cesta, una comedia divertida, surrealista dirigida por Juan Mairena (Cerda) con dramaturgia de Juan Larrondo; y El gol de Alex, una comedia de Antonio Hernández sobre un tema tan controvertido como la homosexualidad en los campos de fútbol.
The performing arts line-up features two important premieres: Ladybug Appears Drowned in a Basket, a humorous and surreal comedy directed by Juan Mairena (Cerda), with playwriting by Juan Larrondo; and Alex's Goal, a comedy by Antonio Hernández about the controversial topic of homosexuality in the world of football.
Uno de los grandes eventos dentro de esta iniciativa será la primera edición de Flamenco Diverso, el primer festival flamenco con una mirada transversal LGTB que cuenta en su programación con nombres como los de Miguel Poveda, Rojas y Rodríguez o Antonia Jiménez y Marta Robles.

03 La celebración de La Mar de Músicas es una de las citas de todos los veranos desde hace ya 23 ediciones. El festival multidisciplinar que organiza el Ayuntamiento de Cartagena este año ha dado un nuevo giro a la programación y eje articular, y no hay un país anfitrión sino un concepto global, America Latina. Esta identidad cultural tendrá la mayor concentración de grupos que jamás haya existido en ningún festival europeo. Del 14 al 22 de julio la ciudad portuaria nos muestra una fiesta de lo latino que se aleja de aquello que los medios nos venden. Sonidos tradicionales, vanguarditas, mestizos y puros. Más de veinte grupos procedentes de Puerto Rico, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, México, Cuba, República Dominicana, Chile, Honduras, Argentina, Brasil y Guatemala estarán esos días en la ciudad portuaria. Un festival que en su 23 edición, que irá del 14 al 22 de julio, contará en total con 48 bandas procedes también de África y Europa. De ellos, ocho serán estrenos y únicos conciertos en España y otros siete iniciarán en Cartagena su gira por nuestro país. La Mar de Músicas contará con los escenarios de otras ediciones, que hacen de éste un festival urbano en plena convivencia con la ciudad. Las otras mares, La Mar de Arte, La Mar de Letras y La Mar de Cine, que complementan y diferencian a La Mar de Músicas de muchos otros festivales, serán el complemento perfecto a la música en este tributo a América Latina. Más del cincuenta por ciento de las actividades serán gratuitas. De los 48 conciertos de esta edición, 22 serán gratis y a eso hay que sumar todas las acciones de las actividades paralelas. “The Sea of Musics” festival has been a summer classic for the past 23 years. This year the multidisciplinary event organized by the City of Cartagena has placed a new twist on its program and its theme: rather than having a host country, the spotlight is turned on all of Latin America. The happening will boast the largest concentration of groups from this region ever at any European festival, as from 14 to 22 July the port city features a Latin celebration far removed from what the media portrays, with traditional, avant-garde, mestizo and pure sounds. More than 20 groups – hailing from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Honduras, Argentina, Brazil and Guatemala – will be there. The festival’s23rd edition will run from 14 to 22 July, with a total of 48 groupsand performers from Africa and Europe. Of these, eight performances will be premieres and sole concerts in Spain, while another seven groups will be kicking off their tours of Spain in Cartagena. La Mar de Músicas will use all the stages from previous editions, which make this an urban festival in full harmony with the city. The other "seas" - The Sea of Art, The Sea of Letters, and The Sea of Cinema - which complement and set La Mar de Músicas apart from many other festivals, will serve as perfect complements to music at this tribute to Latin America. More than half of the activities will be free. Of the 48 concerts at this edition, 22 will be free, in addition to all the action at the event’s complementary activities. Clásicos en Alcalá cumple su decimoséptima edición. El festival será el epicentro de las artes escénicas de la Comunidad de Madrid desde el 15 de junio hasta el 9 de julio. Classics in Alcalá is celebrating its 17th edition, as the festival is set to be the capital of Madrid's performing arts community from 15 June to 9 July.
Bajo la siempre atenta mirada de Cervantes este año la dirección artística recae en Carlos Aladro. El ciclo se inaugura con un montaje muy especial en la Calle Mayor. Sacar el teatro a la vía pública y con un telón a cada lado dará una posibilidad a los alcalaínos y visitantes de sentirse “clásicos” por un día.
Under the ever-watchful eye of Cervantes, this year Carlos Aladro is the artistic director. The event will be kicked off with a very special production on the city's Calle Mayor (Main Street). Taking the theatre out onto the street, with a curtain on each side, will give locals and visitors alike a chance to feel "classic" for a day.
Tras ello se lanza una programación con 31 espectáculos y 52 actividades alternativas, entre ellos una versión de 'Hamlet', obras de Calderón de la Barca, y las actuaciones de Concha Velasco y Kiko Veneno. La organización ha buscado la convergencia de los nuevos talentos bajo el paraguas de uno de los festivales con más peso del calendario. Desde esa mirada actual, hay dos propuestas escénicas que destacan y se estrenan en Madrid, con la noble intención de traer al frente los valores clásicos con aires de hoy. La compañía gallega Voadora presenta Sueño de una noche de verano, y el creador catalán Roger Bernat, presenta en Madrid Pleasecontinue, Hamlet.
After this a series of attractions will be launched featuring 31 shows and 52 alternative activities, including a version of Hamlet, along with works by Calderón de la Barca, and performances by the likes of everyone from Concha Velasco to Kiko Veneno. The organisers have sought to bring together a whole range of new talent too, under the auspices of one of the most celebrated and renowned festivals on the calendar. With this forward-looking approach, there are two works that stand out and are to be premiered in Madrid, with the noble intention of sharing classic theatre with today's audiences, with a contemporary twist: the Galician company Voadora presents A Midsummer Night's Dream, while Catalonian creator Roger Bernat will present Please Continue, Hamlet in the capital city.

This year the festival is collaborating with five projects that transcend the stage, producing unique and unrepeatable experiences: Numancia, at the Regional Archaeological Museum; Self-Tormenting Europe by the company Nao d'Amores; The Classic Order of Things, by Juan Ayala; Santa Juana de la Cruz by Ana Contreras; and Don Juan's Last Night by Carlos Tuñón. FESTIVAL DE LA GUITARRA DE CÓRDOBA *La mujer como protagonista El Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba celebra su 37º edición del 30 de junio al 9 de julio. Una cita veterana donde las mujeres son las grandes protagonistas. Tanto es así que se podrá disfrutar de artistas de la talla de Imelda May, Ana Popovic, Amaral o Pasión Vega, que actúa junto a la israelí Noa. En el apartado más guitarrero, destaca el concierto inaugural, protagonizado por Robe Iniesta y las actuaciones de jazzman de la talla de Lee Ritenour, Kurt Rosenwinkel o Michel Camilo junto a su gran amigo Tomatito. Asimismo, esta edición apuesta fuerte por géneros menos trabajados en otras ediciones como el pop y el indie. De hecho, nace el minifestival, Somossubmarinos, que acoge a grupos como Second y Sidonie. La guitarra clásica tiene un peso especial en el Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba. Ésta comenzará a sonar el primer día, el 30 de junio. El maestro Manuel Barrueco se une a sus dos alumnas más reconocidas, Beijing Guitar Duo. Destaca también Alex Garrobé que actúa por primera vez en el certamen cordobés. Hay que sumar a David Russell, el 2 de julio y Ricardo Gallén, el jueves, 6. The Cordoba Guitar Festival celebrates its 37th edition from June 30th to July 9th. A classic event, where this year the spotlight is turned on women. Audiences will be able to enjoy performances by artists like Imelda May, Ana Popovic, Amaral and Pasión Vega, performing alongside Israel's Noa. FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE TEATRO CLÁSICO DE MÉRIDA *La emoción de la historia
Hay pocos escenarios tan intensos para vivir las artes escénicas como el universo que se genera en el Teatro Romano de Mérida. Por eso cada año, la nueva edición del Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Mérida es garantía de éxito. La LXIII edición del ciclo es la sexta dirigida por Jesús Cimarro con Pentación espectáculos. Entre el 5 de julio y el 27 de agosto, se podrán ver seis estrenos absolutos, en una programación que cuenta con siete obras y un concierto. Las notas musicales serán fado, flamenco y voces búlgaras. La Orestíada, de Esquilo; Calígula, de Albert Camus; Troyanas, de Euripides en versión de Alberto Conejero; Séneca, de Antonio Gala; La bella Helena, de Jacques Offenbach; La comedia de las mentiras, de Pep Anton Gómez y Sergi Pomemayer; y Viriato, de Florián Recio. La colaboración con el Centro Dramático Nacional y el Teatro Español en la coproducción de Seneca y Troyanas respectivamente, ambas estreno, son dos de las citas más esperadas. Este año el festival ha logrado una cuarta extensión del festival en la ciudad romana de Cáparra, , en la provincia de Cáceres, que se suma a las ya existentes en Medellín, Regina y Madrid. Few venues can match the Roman Theatre in Mérida when it comes to generating an intense atmosphere for the performing arts. Thus, every year Merida's International Classical Theatre Festival is sure to dazzle audiences. Los amantes del Rock y Heavy Metal tienen una cita de cuatro días en Villena. La localidad alicantina acoge en las magnificas instalaciones de su polideportivo municipal la XII edición del Festival Leyendas del Rock. Del 9 al 12 de agosto se podrán vivir más de setenta actuaciones en los cinco escenarios distintos. Megadeth (Grammy Award 2017 Best Metal Performance), Sabaton, Amon Amarth, Blind Guardian, UFO, Steve Harris de Iron Maiden o los hermanos MAX & IGOR CAVALERA recreando el icónico Roots Bloody Roots de Sepultura son sólo algunos de los artistas más destacados de esta nueva edición del festival alicantino, incluyendo acústicos en la Plaza Mayor de Villena. Las cifras, la historia y la filosofía de los promotores han provocado que el festival sume éxitos y nuevos records en cada edición. La jornada de bienvenida es el mejor ejemplo. Los abonados tienen entrada libre, y aquellos que no disfrutan del abono tienen un precio ínfimo para que todo el mundo se acerque a conocer los ritmos del rock. Rock and Heavy Metal lovers can look forward to a four-day music extravaganza in Villena. The Alicante town will host the XII edition of the Legends of Rock festivalat its outstanding municipal sports centre. urante el primer fin de semana de octubre, año a año desde el 2009, el centro histórico de Burgos vuelve al Medievo. Como todos los años, burgaleses y visitantes podrán disfrutar del vistoso mercado medieval que se amplía a las calles del centro histórico y viene cargado de talleres, gastronomía y la mejor artesanía. Por supuesto, tendremos la oportunidad de asistir a las aclamadas luchas de espadas y torneos a caballo y la singular ambientación del campamento a orillas del río Arlanzón nos devolverá la imagen de los antiguos oficios. La majestuosidad llegará de la mano de los desfiles de la comitiva, por la mañana y el nocturno con antorchas. Pasacalles, bufones y juglares nos sorprenderán por distintos rincones de la ciudad y todo ello amenizado por la música, la danza y numerosas representaciones teatrales.
4 During the first weekend of October, year after year since 2009, the historic centre of Burgos harkens back to the Middle Ages. Like every year, the people of Burgos and visitors alike can enjoy the colourful medieval market that fills the streets of the historic centre, along with workshops, traditional fare, and the best in old crafts. Of course, there will also be the chance to attend its applauded sword fights and jousting tournaments, while the unique setting of the camp, on the banks of the River Arlanzón, will transport attendees back to an era of bygone trades. There will be majesty in the form of entourage processions in the morning, at night enhanced by the use of torches. Parades, jesters and minstrels will surprise those turning out all over the city, while the tone is set and everything is livened up by music, dancing, and numerous theatrical performances.

VÍA FERRATA DE PRIEGO (CUENCA) *Una propuesta de acción de Amadablam Aventura
Una vía ferrata es una escalada equipada con dos sistemas, uno que nos permite la progresión y que se compone de escalones, escaleras, puentes colgantes y otro sistema que permite estar asegurado durante todo el recorrido. Este último se compone de un cable que a lo largo de todo el recorrido nos protege de cualquier posible caída. Os recomendamos la vía ferrata de Priego, la única vía en la zona centro. Se compone de dos recorridos. El más sencillo de K3 (en una escalada del 1 al 6) tiene una primera parte apta para niños y una segunda más difícil y con los escalones más alejados. El segundo de K4 es solo apto para expertos ya que tiene un tramo extraplomado que pondrá a prueba nuestros brazos. Los dos terminan en el mismo punto y el descenso se realiza por unas pasarelas colgadas sobre el rio Escabas. Las vistas sobre los estrechos de Priego son espectaculares y merece la pena alargar la visita en la zona recorriendo el Parque Natural del Alto Tajo y dejándose perder en una de sus famosas lagunas y pinares. Siempre debemos utilizar el material de seguridad adecuado que se compone de casco, arnés y set de ferratas, y nos protege de una eventual caída. Adicionalmente debemos ir equipados con ropa deportiva, zapatillas de montaña y guantes de bicicleta. Si es la primera vez que realizas una ferrata no dudes en contratar un Guía de Montaña Titulado. A via ferrata is a mountain climb featuring two systems: one that allows the climber to progress, thanks to steps, stairs and hanging bridges; and another system that provides him with security throughout the route, with a harness and cable protecting climbers from falls. We would like to recommend the via ferrata of Priego, the only one in central Spain. It consists of two routes. The simplest, a K3 (on a scale from 1 to 6) climb,features a first part that is suitable for children, and a second one that is more difficult, as its steps are further apart. The other one, a K4 climb, is only apt for experts, as it includes a section that will really test your arms. The two routes end at the same point, and the descent is via footbridges over the Escabas River, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas on the route. The views over the Straits of Priego are spectacular, and it is worth lingering a bit in the area to visit the Upper Tajo Natural Park, with its famous lagoons and pine forests. Climbers must always use the appropriate safety equipment, which consists of a helmet, harness and set of carabiners, to protect them from falls. They also must wear clothing appropriate for climbing, like mountain shoes and bicycle gloves to protect their hands. If this is your first time climbing a via ferrata, do not hesitate to hire a Certified Mountain Guide.

Animalgovia
Artista Digital y Plástico La pasión por los rostros animales y humanos han llevado a este joven artista, natural de Colmenar de Oreja, a componer una serie de retratos y figuras eclécticas compuestas por diferentes motivos que le representan. Estos dan vida a sus últimas obras, en las que el espectador puede sacar sus propias conclusiones y volar por cada uno de los rincones que dan vida a la pieza entre texturas de leopardo y el cosmos. La importancia del animal es clave en cada una de sus obras por lo que le transmiten y simboliza: “Para mí, un animal salvaje es dueño de su presente y futuro, no está supeditado a ninguna norma, solo la que le impone la naturaleza, es verdaderamente libre y eso me inspira a la hora de sentarme delante de un papel en blanco”.
