CLĂDIRE PUBLICĂ

ABORDARE ÎN ATELIER „Tranzit” este o reţea de iniţiative autonome în arta contemporană din Austria, Cehia, Ungaria, Slovacia şi România - la Cluj, Iaşi, Sibiu şi Bucureşti. Centrul din Bucureşti funcţionează într-o curte pe care doar o ghiceşti din stradă, dar o descoperi în interior: două clădiri modeste existente aşezate atipic şi mult spaţiu liber. Pornind de la acest dat, asociaţia a construit în timp aici, cu discreţie, o lume a evenimentelor culturale inter-conectate, prin programe permanente şi temporare. A folosit flexibil spaţiile interioare şi a dat sens celor exterioare (numite toate cu afecţiune: grădina comunitară, expoziţia, grădina din spate, cuptorul, bucătăria, camera de întâlniri, oranjeria), dând astfel un ritm firesc şi caracter locului. DESIGN STUDIO APPROACH "Tranzit" is a network of autonomous initiatives in contemporary art in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania - in Cluj, Iasi, Sibiu and Bucharest. The center from Bucharest operates in a courtyard that you can hardly guess from the street, but you can discover inside: two existing modest buildings, atypically placed, and plenty of free space. Starting from this datum, the association has built here in time, with discretion, a world of interconnected cultural events, through permanent and temporary programs. They used the interior spaces flexibly and gave meaning to the outside ones (all named affectionately: the community garden, the exhibition, the back garden, the oven, the kitchen, the meeting room, the orangery), thus giving a natural rhythm and character to the place. „Scopul exerciţiului nostru a fost de a înţelege acest caracter al locului, de a-i simţi ritmul şi de a vedea - pornind ca de la un bun câştigat - cum putem, prin arhitectură, să contribuim la punerea în valoare a acestui centru dedicat artei în lumea contemporană, într-un proces natural de continuitate, de armonizare a edificării construite cu cea a încărcăturii culturale existente. Un fel de parcurs în trei paşi (observare-alegere-propunere) de la „ce ai” la „ce poţi să ai”.
The purpose of our exercise was to understand this character of the place, to feel its rhythm and to see - starting from a gained value - how we can, through architecture, contribute to the development of this center dedicated to art in the contemporary world, in a natural process of continuity, of harmonizing the built edification with that of the existing cultural content. A kind of journey in three steps (observation-choice-proposal) from "what you have" to "what you can have".

ABORDARE ÎN ATELIER Locul propus de tema-cadru pentru studiu aşteaptă să fie folosit. Declarat prea repede de regulament drept spaţiu verde intangibil – doar pentru că este invadat de vegetaţie – terenul aparţine clar ţesutului dens construit dintre parcul Carol şi bd. Regina Maria. E drept că poziţia privilegiată la bulevard, vecinătatea şi orientarea bisericii Sf. Nicolae (Vlădică – Din Prund) şi chiar faptul că este liber şi izolat, sugerează un posibil alt statut, cu valenţe publice. Aşa că noi am exersat la atelier cincisprezece ipostaze diferite de folosire în acest sens a amplasamentului; intervenţii ponderate împinse dincolo de limitele lotului propriu-zis, cu caracter firesc public şi iz cultural. Ne-a interesat să împăcăm relaţiile apropiate divergente (bulevard / biserică / zona de locuit) prin decizii clar orientate care să redefinească locul. Conf.dr.arh. Iulian Gudină
DESIGN STUDIO APPROACH The place proposed by the framework theme for the study is waiting to be used. Declared too quickly by regulation as an intangible green space - just because it is invaded by vegetation the land clearly belongs to the dense built tissue between Carol Park and bd. Queen Mary. It is true that the privileged position on the boulevard, the vicinity and orientation of the church of St. Nicholas (Vlădică - Din Prund) and even the fact that it is empty and isolated, suggests another possible status, with public valences. Thus, we practiced fifteen different scenarios of using the site in this regard; thoughtful interventions pushed beyond the limits of the actual lot, with a natural public character and cultural scent. We were interested in reconciling the close divergent relations (boulevard / church / residential area) by clearly oriented decisions that redefine the place. Iulian Gudină Assoc.Prof..Ph.D.Arch.

Autorii proiectului prezentat aici şi-au propus să folosească locul la maximum dar să construiască strictul necesar. Integrând propunerea într-o reţea de iniţiative culturale identificate în zonă (între care şi cea studiată la proiectul anterior), au imaginat „o galerie de artă contemporană într-un spaţiu continuu şi versatil”. Impulsul dictat de prima impresie asupra locului s-a tradus printr-o serie de gesturi ferme ce exprimă o atitudine clară: amplasarea unui volum la stradă, proporţionat sensibil în sine şi faţă de vecinătăţi; întărirea legăturii cu acestea prin transformarea parţială a străzilor adiacente în pietonale; absorbirea vegetaţiei abundente dinspre biserică spre zona coborâtă în care continuă spaţiul interior; deschiderea spre piaţeta protejată creată în spate, efervescentă dar liniştită, la care sunt invitaţi şi ceilalţi să participe. Au obţinut astfel un loc viu, veridic prin utilitate, decenţă şi generozitate.
The authors of the project presented here intended to use the place to the fullest but to build the strictly necessary. Integrating the proposal into a network of cultural initiatives identified in the area (including the one studied in the previous project), they imagined “a contemporary art gallery in a continuous and versatile space”. The impulse of the first impression on the place resulted into a series of firm gestures that express a clear attitude: the placement of a volume to the street, sensitively proportionated to itself and to the neighborhoods; strengthening the connection to those by partially transforming the adjacent streets into pedestrians areas; absorption of abundant vegetation from the church to the lower area where the interior space continues; opening to the protected plaza created in the back, effervescent but quiet, to which others are invited to participate. They have thus obtained a living, truthful place through utility, decency and generosity.

ABORDARE ÎN ATELIER Contextul atenţionează dar nu impune, este permisiv şi deschis dezvoltării, uşor dezechilibrat deci viu, fragmente de timp surprinse în stadii diferite. Ne-am propus să intervenim aici simplu, igienic, în favoarea existentului viitor, cu propuneri de echilibru între grijă, necesitate şi intenţie. Așa că s-a studiat mult pe machete pentru a găsi măsura potrivită cu tema şi locul. Am încercat să acordăm atenţia cuvenită bulevardului (aliniere, înălţime mai mare, spaţii publice), să degajăm fundătura (retragere, înălţime medie, acces auto), să recuperăm grădina interioară (vegetaţie, lumină, distanţe). DESIGN STUDIO APPROACH The context warns but does not impose, it is permissive and open to development, slightly unbalanced, thus alive, fragments of time caught in different stages. We thought to intervene here simply, hygienically, in favor of the future, with proposals as a balance between care, necessity and intention. It has been studied much on the models to find the right measure for the theme and place. We tried to pay due attention to the boulevard (alignment, higher height, public spaces), to clear the blind alley (recess, average height, car access), to recover the inner garden (vegetation, light, distances). Proiectul acesta s-a dezvoltat natural în lungul terenului: un volum cât succesiunea de calcane din stânga, de care se ataşează punctual şi un volum pe limita din dreapta, pentru a permite închegarea frontului la bulevard, legate transversal de un filtru funcţional şi volumetric; spaţii publice ce definesc o piaţetă la stradă şi spaţii comune în interiorul ansamblului; grădina comună deschisă care curge pe sub casă spre cea protejată; apartamente aerisite ferm orientate spre curte, ţinute de o circulaţie continuă care devine din spaţiu comun spaţiu interior ordonator; faţade ritmate de logica structurii. O soluţie discretă şi agreabilă prin claritate şi firesc.
This project has naturally developed along the plot: a volume as long as the succession of left blind walls, of which it is punctually attached and a volume on the right boundary, that allows the front to be closed to the boulevard, transversely linked by a functional and volumetric filter; public spaces that define a street plaza and common spaces inside the ensemble; open common garden that flows under the house towards the protected one; airy apartments firmly oriented to the courtyard, linked by a continuous circulation that becomes from common space an interior space; facades rhythm corresponding to the logic of the structure. A discreet and pleasant solution by clarity and naturalness.

Proiectul acesta creează, prin amplasarea propunerii , noi reguli pe laturile terenului: în dreapta, posibilitatea dezvoltării în adâncime într-o alternanță de construit/liber, iar în stânga șansa deschiderii curților vecine spre lumină și vegetație. Totul se orientează către un spațiu major interior verde și luminos care concentrează interesul, traversează terenul, pătrunde printre clădiri și atrage astfel rezolvarea clar orientată a locuirii. Volumetria discret reținută nu se impune ci completează locul cu viață confortabilă și liniștită.
This project creates new rules on the sides of the land, as it places the proposal: on the right, the possibility of deep development in an alternation of a built/empty sequence, and on the left the chance of opening the neighboring courtyards to light and vegetation. Everything is oriented towards a major green and bright interior space that concentrates the interest, crosses the field, penetrates among the buildings and thus attracts the solution of the clearly oriented dwelling. The discreetly retained volumes do not impose but complete the place with a comfortable and quiet life.

Proiectul acesta surprinde prin expresia neașteptată a exteriorului public și interiorului domestic. This project surprises with an unexpected expression of the public otside and its domestic inside. Preia casa veche existentă la stradă, o transformă și o include într-o curte publică care absoarbe agitația de-a lungul bulevardului și oferă tuturor ceva de făcut: acesta este locul trecătorilor. It takes over the old house on the street, transforms it and includes it in a public courtyard that absorbs the hustle and bustle along the boulevard and offers everyone something to do: this is the place for the passers-by.
Dincolo de volumul masiv punctual, ce creează într-un plan retras frontul necesar, de-a lungul terenului marcat de volumul alungit mulat pe calcanele vecine, și până spre străduța liniștită a cartierului din spate, se naște o curte nuanțată pe două niveluri: acesta este locul celor care locuiesc aici. Beyond the punctual massive volume, which creates the withdrawn necessary front, along the land marked by the elongated volume molded on the neighboring blind walls, and up to the quiet alley in the back, a courtyard nuanced on two levels is born: this it is the place of those who live here.
