Staging, designing and producing a full-scale musical is by no means an easy feat, and the staff, cast, crew and pit of First Year Players have worked tirelessly to bring the macabre madness of The Addams Family to the stage. But in FYP, lifting a production from the page isn’t necessarily as big of a challenge as actually deciding which show to take on.

The decision is crucial and undoubtedly sets the tone for the year. Like each show that came before it, Addams was picked for a number of specific reasons. It’s darkly quirky, it’s fantastically aesthetic, and above all, it carries a message of unity. It’s no secret that FYP considers itself a big, loud and loving family, but the very essence of this year’s production has been a reassuring reminder of the bonds we enjoy.

We not only used the positive themes of the show to reflect on the relationships within our organization, but challenged ourselves to be more conscious of the well-being of our FYPhamily on a daily basis. A reoccurring sentiment soon emerged: inclusivity.

Each year, FYP welcomes a new cast and crew to our family, and their first-year experience is, and has always been, our priority. We welcome them with open arms into this crazy clan, inspiring them to pass on the love that is so eagerly given. But the beauty of FYP is that we are composed of an incredibly talented staff of all majors and years. Our family is strengthened not only by the excitement and energy of our newest members, but also by the steadfast support of every person who has been here to greet them.

To the audience: we sincerely hope you enjoy our production of The Addams Family. We can guarantee you will leave the theater with a smile on your face after watching our ghoulish group gallivant through a tale of love, loss and reconnection. To the staff: we applaud all of your efforts this year and want to express how incredibly proud we are of each and every one of you. To our E-board: It has been amazing watching you all grow as leaders throughout this process. Your efforts on and off stage have been truly remarkable. To Courtney Jones and Lisa Chestney: thank you for your guidance and encouragement; we couldn’t have done this without you. To the cast, crew and pit: put on the best show of your lives. We’ll be in the last row cheering loud enough to wake the dead.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

MIKE LIEBENSON

People would not necessarily think of First Year Players when they hear The Addams Family. In fact, I didn’t even think of FYP when this show was presented to us. But look deeper, and it embodies our organization better than any other show that was up for consideration. FYP is home to some of the biggest characters I’ve ever met, and everyone accepts all of them. This show is a celebration of being true to yourself. Don’t let their dark color palette confuse you. The Addams family, known for their flair for the dark and catchy theme song, lives with the utmost security in their own identities. Their lives are full of love, passion, and sincere pride for who they all are. This is embodied through the over-the-top songs and cheeky jokes; now that’s my kind of show.

The Addams Family have been cultural icons since their debut as a comic in The New Yorker in 1938. From TV to film, their family values hold true in this adaption to stage. But seeing the family on stage feels even more right, because I believe there is this theatricality to the family that can really only be brought out through the stage. I foresaw many challenges with this production, because people hold this family so dear to their hearts. Everyone has a certain set of expectations for these characters. My goal as director was to stay true to their image while injecting our own kooky flair into each character, revamping the family to correspond with my own vision.

I want to give a huge congratulations to the amazing cast, crew and pit of this show. Going into this experience I knew this show would be a hard one to cast, since each family member is rooted in their iconic nature.

Thankfully, this group made it VERY easy. They are filled with so much tenacious spirit and talent that every time they take the stage they bring this show to life more than I could have ever hoped for. They’ve grown into a family, functioning as one collective mind. I have no doubt they will get the recognition they deserve for their amazing work.

I could not have directed this show without the support of our amazing producers, Sam and Drew. Thank you so much for believing in me and helping me materialize my own vision. Of course, I have to thank my other creative heads, Jaylyn and Bridget, for being the best and making this collaborative process as seamless as possible. To my own team; Paul, my assistant director, Matt and Bailey, my acting coaches, and Will, my dramaturge, you are the reason I am still sane. Thank you for always trusting whatever decisions I made. I also need to thank my lovely parents for always being there for me and showering me with love and support from the moment I got director.

I could not be more thankful to have spent my final year at Syracuse University as the music director of First Year Player’s production of The Addams Family. Four years ago when I auditioned to be a part of the Drowsy Chaperone, I never imagined what was in store for me.

First Year Players reignited my passion for music my freshman year and is ultimately the reason I stayed at Syracuse University. I am so grateful to Sam and Drew for the opportunity to give back through music and help others who have yet to find their place.

I was drawn to the Addams Family because of the similarities it shares with First Year Players. Two very different families with their own definitions of normal come together for the sake of the love their children share. Likewise, FYP brings together people from varying backgrounds and majors who all have one thing in common, their passion for this organization.

To the cast, thank you for the countless hours you spent inside and outside of rehearsal. Your hard work and dedication to this production have truly paid off and I hope that this experience has been as rewarding for you as it has been for me. To the staff, thank you for your enthusiasm and your overwhelming appreciation and love for FYP. When there were late nights or frustrating rehearsals you reminded me why it is we do what we do. To the E-Board, it has been a privilege working with all of you. I could not have asked for a better group of people to share this experience with. To the pit, thank you for the many hours you put into rehearsing for this show. I feel very fortunate to have been able to work with such talented musicians. To my team, Alex, Michaela, Rachel, Nick, Dan and Chelsea, your constant support and reassurance throughout this process has meant the world to me.The music was very difficult for the cast and pit alike. Without each of your individual efforts this show would not have been made possible. I cannot thank you enough. Putting the music together was truly a team effort and it was extremely gratifying to watch it all come together.

JAYLYN NOBLE

I can’t even begin to put into words how amazing this experience has been. Choreographing a show like The Addams Family was very different from anything I’ve done in the past. It challenged me physically, mentally, and creatively. How was I supposed to choreograph dances for such an iconic family? This is where the help and aid of my AMAZING team came into play.

I have no idea how I could have gotten through this show without these incredibly talented people supporting me. To Emma and Marcela, my two technique coaches, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you!

You two helped guide the cast toward beautiful technique, form, and grace to make them all look amazing on stage. Your passion and commitment to this organization, and this show, shine through in the most beautiful light. To Dante and Kailey, my two assistants, there is really no accurate way to show my appreciation. Your skills as dancers are incredible and inspiring. You were always there to expand on my ideas or pull me back if I went too crazy. Thank you guys so much for being who you are and for your willingness to help me and this cast.

I would like to thank the producers, Sam and Drew, for their support throughout this entire process. Choreographing an entire show can be stressful at times, but your encouragement always helped me to keep going and drive my passion even further. I want to thank the other creative heads, Mike and Bridget, for working with me and helping to make this a very fluid, collaborative process. I mean, look at this amazing show we created together! To the rest of E-Board, thank you so much for listening to all my ideas, complaints, concerns and troubles. You all made this process so much fun and worthwhile, and I am very grateful for that.

I also want to thank my family for supporting me, my dancing and my various passions throughout the years. You all inspire me to do the best that I can, and I think I achieved my best with this show.

I would like to thank this amazing cast and crew! You guys have been a huge blessing to work with, and I am constantly impressed by your levels of talent. You will do amazing things in this organization, and I’m sad I won’t be there to watch you grow. Congratulations you guys, you’re all stars and now everyone knows it.

Last, but definitely not least, I would like to thank the entire staff of FYP. You guys all helped to keep my spirits high and gave me some of the best years of my life. FYP is the true definition of “Family first, family last, and family by and by,” and I don’t think I would want to end my senior year with any other group of people.

The Addams Family is a true representation of myself, and I hope you all enjoy this amazing show!!

The Addams Family has been no small feat to design and create for. It is a challenge that we have been extremely excited for from the very beginning, and it has been a great learning experience for the entire art team. Our goals for this show were to, as always, put FYP’s spin on the show and make it our own. With a show like this, which has such an infamous aesthetic, we needed to make sure we were creating our own original , costumes, hair, makeup, and more, while still evoking the essence of the characters and setting. Our design process started so long ago, September, to be exact, that it is wild and heartwarming for us to see it come to life in front of our eyes now. We can say with some certainty this has been the most complicated and intricate design and creation the Art Team has ever taken on in all aspects. The pride we feel for the Art Team, the E-Board, and the entire staff, cast, crew, and pit is overwhelming.

We’d like to thank our designers and creators, without whom we’d have a flat show in a libretto. Thanks to Alison, Tyler, and Joelynn for our beautifully designed and lit set and Collin and the entire set construction team for spending every Saturday morning making it. In addition, thanks to Simon and the costume team, hair and makeup team, and of course, Justin, for decorating the stage with such unique and vibrant characters. And for every little candle you spot, thanks to our props head Stephanie and creator Maddie.

We can’t forget Jay for paint, Alec for sound, and our budget heads. Also, much thanks to Physical Plant for letting us build our set there and to Courtney Jones. Finally, thanks to the entire E-board for an amazing year, working with us to envision the production and trusting us to bring the design to life.

As we move forward from the organization this year as Seniors, we, Nikki and Alex, are proud to let this show leave our mark here on the Goldstein stage. We can’t wait to see what this talented group of people can do in the years to come. We know it will only get bigger and brighter.

A HISTORY THEY’RE ALTOGETHER OOKY

Have you ever snapped a picture of the Hall of Languages? The ivy-covered juggernaut gets photographed when the sun’s shining on it, when it’s barely visible due to snow flurries, and every day in between. If you’ve marveled at it, you’re not alone. Rumor has it that Edward Ilou— an SU alumnus and the art director for the original Addams Family TV series back in ’64—drew on the aesthetic of the illustrious building when designing the Addams’ mansion. It only follows logic that FYP would eventually nod to this go-to campus fun fact by putting on The Addams Family for our spring production.

For being such a bizarre troupe, the Addams have earned a fair amount of fame throughout U.S. history. They represent the opposite of the typical modern American family. The Addams spend no time worrying about what their neighbors might think of them. From the sultriness of Morticia to the aloofness of Lurch, most of us have memories of this family from our childhoods. There have been TV series’ since the ’60s, films since the ’90s, and five years ago in April 2010, The Addams Family musical opened its curtains on the Broadway stage.

But before there were video games and animated television series, there was a man and a pencil. Charles Addams debuted cartoons of the Addams family in The New Yorker in 1938. The story of the family soon developed to become a TV show that ran on ABC from 1964—1966. (During this time, the editor of The New Yorker refused to run Addams’ cartoons in the magazine. Because of the prestige of the publication, he didn’t believe that content from a network TV show equated to what the refined readership of The New Yorker wanted to see.)

After six other television adaptations, the iconic Addams Family film was released in 1991. The quirky clan hit box offices hard—The Addams Family ended up being the 7th highest grossing film of that year. Positive reviews led to the release of the film’s sequel, Addams Family Values, two years later. The cast of these films represents arguably the most recognizable Addams family, at least for our generation. Christina Ricci’s haunting depiction of stolid, never-smiling Wednesday stunned us all to silence.

Tonight, you get to watch an entirely new story about these kooky characters play out on the stage. The Addams Family may have developed from humble beginnings, but its distinctive aesthetic and satire will keep this beloved family in the spotlight for plenty more years to come.

So settle in, and get ready for a weirdly wild ride.

THE AUTHORS MARSHALL BRICKMAN (Book): Films (author or co-author): Sleeper, Annie Hall, Manhattan, Manhattan Murder Mystery, For the Boys, Intersection; (as writer/director): Simon, Lovesick, The Manhattan Project, Sister Mary Explains it All. Television: “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson” (head writer), “The Dick Cavett Show” (head writer/co-producer). He has published in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Playboy and other periodicals and was the 2006 recipient of the Writers Guild of America’s Ian McClellan Hunter Lifetime Achievement Award. Jersey Boys, his first venture into musical theatre, won four Tonys including Best Musical. The Addams Family, his second Broadway venture (with co-author Rick Elice), is currently playing on national and international tours. He lives in New York City and hopes to die in his sleep, surrounded by his loved ones and their attorneys.

RICK ELICE (Book): co-wrote Jersey Boys (winner 2006 Tony Award, 2007 Grammy Award and 2009 Olivier Award for Best Musical) with Marshall Brickman. His play, Peter and the Starcatcher, received nine 2012 Tony Award nominations (including two for Rick) and won five, more than any play of the season. It’s currently playing in New York and on tour across North America. Also on Broadway, Elice wrote The Addams Family (with Marshall Brickman, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa), currently touring North America, with productions in Europe and South America. In 2014, the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego presented the world premiere of his new musical, Dog and Pony (music and lyrics by Michael Patrick Walker).

Rick is currently writing a musical for Disney Theatricals with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, based on the film Make Believe, and Super Fly (co-written with Seth Zvi Rosenfeld), directed and choreographed by modern dance legend, Bill T. Jones. Heartfelt thanks to those whose work in the theatre makes him grateful for the day he was born: Sondheim, Stoppard, Bennett, Prince, Fosse, Robbins, Nichols, Tune, Nunn, Laurents, Stone, Kushner, Taymor, Papp, Schumacher, Schneider, Coyne, Brickman, Timbers and Rees. Rick thinks about them a lot. He never thought about Jersey much. He does now.

ANDREW LIPPA (Book): In addition to the Tony-nominated music and lyrics for the Broadway musical The Addams Family, Andrew wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical, BIG FISH, the words and music to the original theatrical oratorio I AM HARVEY MILK that received its world premiere in San Francisco in June, 2013 with the San Francisco Gay Mens’ Chorus, starring Laura Benanti and Mr. Lippa as Harvey Milk.

He also wrote the music for the Broadway production of Aaron Sorkin’s play The Farnsworth Invention. Other musicals include the Drama Desk award winning musical The Wild Party (book/ music/lyrics), A Little Princess (music), jon & jen (music/cowrote book), Asphalt Beach (music/lyrics) and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (additional music/lyrics and arrangements). Mr. Lippa was music director for Kristin Chenoweth’s sold-out shows at the Metropolitan Opera House, Carnegie Hall and others. Accolades include a Tony and Grammy nomination, the Gilman/Gonzalez-Falla Theater Foundation Award, ASCAP’s Richard Rodgers/New Horizons Award, The Drama Desk and The Outer Critics Circle Award. Andrew Lippa serves on the council of The Dramatists Guild and is a graduate of The University of Michigan School of Music.

CAST /CREW BIOS Dominique Alvarado (Ensemble): Dominique is a Freshman at Syracuse who is studying Information Management and Technology. She can’t begin to explain how happy she is to be apart of FYP’s production of The Addams Family, and FYP in general. This group has made her happier than she could’ve hoped. Aside from her becoming a proud Addams/8-year-old-twin-murderer, a few of her most recent credits include Fiddler On the Roof (Fiddler), In The Heights (Nina), and Bye Bye Birdie (Kim). She thanks her parents, family, and friends for all their support and phone calls, and she wishes her entire cast the most broken of broken legs! (Also, Collin is the one who told Twinsday to murder Twansday. Full Disclosure!)

Gabrielle Arthur (Ensemble): Gabrielle is absolutely THRILLED to be a part of The Addams Family cast. She hails from the majestic Twin Cities area of Minnesota (which is *gasp* even colder than Syracuse).

She’s currently a freshman vocal performance major, and is a member of Danceworks as well as the a cappella group, Groovestand. On the rare occasion that she’s not singing and dancing, she enjoys re-reading Harry Potter, spending time with her amazing friends and family and going on adventures. This first year of college has been her greatest adventure so far, and she would like to thank First Year Players for being such an incredible organization and for welcoming her into their amazing family.

Jennifer Bideaux (Stage Crew): Jen is really excited to be working on The Addams Family with FYP! She has been doing tech for different productions since her sophomore year of high school. She has a deep obsession with mac and cheese and likes long walks on the beach. She would like to thank her parents for investing so much time, energy and money by sending her to college. She would like to thank all of the friends that she has made over the past year for supporting her through her endeavors and keeping her sane. She would also like to thank the cast, crew, pit and staff of FYP for being so friendly and supportive throughout the semester! Enjoy the show!

Collin Brown (Ensemble): Collin is very excited to be a member of The Addams Family cast. He would like to thank the staff for their endless work and guidance throughout the process. He would also like to thank his family for their support. Most importantly, Collin would like to thank the cast and crew of Addams Family for being amazingly talented and for all the laughs. Collin’s full disclosure is that he is secretly 5’2” (Congratulations to the costuming team).

Danielle Cooper (Grandma): Danielle considers herself very lucky to be a part of this amazing group of people. She would like to thank the entire cast and staff for teaching her how to be in a musical. Thank you to her friends and family for giving her plenty of hugs even though she is a strange human. She would also like to thank the Academy eventually.

Sarah Crane (Stage Crew): Sarah is super pumped to be a part of The Addams Family crew! She was involved with stage crew in high school and is happy that she continued here at SU. Outside of FYP, Sarah spends her time playing tenor saxophone with the Syracuse University Marching Band, watching hours of Friends and searching for new dogs to pet around campus.

Grace Crummet (Stage Crew): Grace is really happy to be on stage crew for the FYP production of The Addams Family. She is currently “Fundecided” in the College of Arts and Sciences and is very excited about her upcoming years in Syracuse University and FYP! Samantha Fioravanti (Ensemble): Samantha is thrilled to be performing in FYP’s production of The Addams Family. She is a freshman dual major in Psychology and Communications. Past credits include Legally Blonde (Vivienne), Cabaret (Chanteuse), and 42nd Street (Mac). She would like to thank the entire cast, crew and staff for making this production the experience of a life time!

Caroline Friedman (Wednesday Addams): Caroline is thrilled to be apart of the wonderful FYPhamily! She would like to thank the staff for their hard work and for making this an experience she will never forget! She would like to thank her fabulous mom and dad for their endless support and constant love. Most importantly, she would like to give a big thank you to the INCREDIBLE cast and crew for always making her smile, even when she’s not supposed to!

JP Hadley (Stage Crew): JP Hadley is beyond excited to be on crew for The Addams Family. He is a newspaper and online journalism major from Greenwich, CT. He spent all four years of high school in various positions in technical theater, and is ready to continue moving scenic pieces in the dark this year. You probably won’t see him on stage during the run of the show, but that’s a good thing.

Sarah Hamilton (Stage Crew): Sarah is more excited than anyone in the entire intergalactic universe to be on stage crew for The Addams Family this year! Dressing in all black and moving things four times

her weight has always been a throbbing passion of hers, and she is mega-stoked that she has been given the opportunity to do what she loves alongside tremendous people! She has loved being a piece in The Addams Family madness, and wants to give a million thanks to the radical FYP staff for being so loving and making everyday wonderful. #blessed Grace Hildreth (Alice Beineke): Grace is so happy to be a part of The Addams Family cast! She would like to thank her wonderful parents for always believing in her and giving their constant support throughout the years. She would also like to give one giant hug to every single person involved in FYP. Thank you for letting Grace embrace her weirdness.

Neil Honwad (Mal Beineke): Neil is galloping with joy to be in an FYP production. He likes it. As an aficionado of various silverware, he is riveted to be a part of such a magnificent hoard of people. He has been in previous works of art, such as Monsieur Firmin in The Phantom of the Opera, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, and Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. When he isn’t riding the ol’ gator up on stage, he enjoys various condiments to compliment his pallet. Good work to the staff and cast. We literally could not have done this without you.

Margaret Hoeschele (Ensemble): Margaret is thrilled to be a part of FYP’s production of The Addams Family! A freshman vocal performance major at Syracuse, Margaret has been a part of various musical and theatre productions since a young age. Her past roles include Julia in The Wedding Singer, Nina in In the Heights, and Laurie in Oklahoma. Margaret is so thankful to all of her friends and family for their endless support, and to all of the FYP staff, cast and crew who have made this production so wonderful!

Gabrielle Hughes (Morticia): Gabrielle is ecstatic – I mean, utterly depressed – to be a part of the deathly talented First Year Players. She is a freshman Broadcast major in Newhouse. Favorite roles include Fiona MacLaren (Brigadoon), Georgia Hendricks (Curtains), and Cosette (Les Mis). To the cast, crew, and pit, BREAK ALL THE LEGS. Adonys Jimenez (Crew): Bonjour, my name is Adonys. I’m from NYC, and I think of my life as one long everlasting film take. I’m a Film major in the School of Visual and Performing Arts and my favorite film of all time is Annie Hall (1977) by Woody Allen. I began performing when I was in high school and studied acting at Stella Adler studio of Acting

before falling in love with film. I am very fortunate to have performed in places such as The Public Theatre, TriBeCa Performing Arts Center and the Brooklyn Arts Exchange! I am currently on a mission to revive creative minds! If you’re reading this before the performance, enjoy!

Laurie Beth Koller (Ensemble): Laurie Beth is beyond thrilled to be apart of FYPand this unbelievable production of The Addams Family.

She fell in love with the theatre at a young age and wanted to continue to follow that passion through college. FYP has allowed her to do that, and she could not be more obsessed with the friendships and family she has created. From Les Mis to Addams, LB could not be happier to be continuing her love for the theatre with her amazing cast by her side. “Nana, will you please start me off? Ahhh…”

Andrés Laguna (Lurch): From warm and joyous Panama comes this formal, yet sweet and lovely person. Andrés is completely enthused and content that he is a part of The Addams Family production and a member of FYP, for this was one of the reasons he applied to Syracuse University. As one of the few international students in the organization, he provides diversity and new perspectives to this group. Andrés was a child actor for about seven years, and now he will rock the FYP stage with his unique take on the iconic Lurch. Andrés is truly thankful for this whole journey and for all the friends he has made.

Hannah Leibson (Ensemble): aka HONCH! Hannah is so blessed to be part of such an amazing production that truly values every member.

Entering college, Hannah was eager to continue pursuing her love of the arts among students who shared her passion. FYP provided her with a welcoming community where she could be herself and embrace her double identity as HONCH! A ballerina at heart, Hannah is so excited to let her dream of playing a dancer on stage be realized in this production. But more importantly, Elizabeth Gilbert expressed perfectly, “We must take care of our families wherever we find them.” Hannah found a FYPhamily at Syracuse when she joined FYP! Joshua McMaster (Ensemble/Cousin It): Josh is thr—no, wait. He really wants to avoid saying, “is thrilled to be playing” because honestly, how many times have you read that? Every musical bio ever, right?

Well, of course he’s thrilled to be on stage with FYP, or else he wouldn’t be performing for you tonight. Honestly, geez. Instead he wants to thank FYP—not only for giving him a chance to perform one more time after high school, but also for being wonderfully positive and welcoming people. As always, thanks to Liv and Mom for their support—even from back home—to the moon and back!

Eve Mercer (Stage Crew): Eve is so excited to be part of the stage crew for The Addams Family! Eve is a freshman Communication Sciences and Disorders major in the College of Arts and Sciences. She did theater throughout high school and is excited to be involved again! In addition to FYP, Eve is a member of the all-female a cappella group, The Mandarins, and volunteers with Empathy Matters. To the cast, crew, pit and staff: love you all FYPham; break legs!

Max Murphy (Pugsley): Max is super excited to be a part of The Addams Family! Favorite credits include Willard (Footloose), Jack (Into the Woods), Emmett (Legally Blonde), and director of The Crucible. When not rehearsing, Max enjoys long walks on the beach, gazing off into the sunset, and crafting the perfect groutfit. He is currently working on his life goal of becoming Leslie Knope. Many thanks to his family, Brew 8 and all of FYP. Enjoy the show! #$wag AJ Nolin (Ensemble): AJ is very excited to be in the cast of this year’s production of The Addams Family. He is from Concord, NH, and he is a Television, Radio and Film major. AJ began his theater experience in 3rd grade when his elementary school music teacher struck his interest in musical theater. Past credits include Jekyll and Hyde, Phantom of the Opera, Amadeus, RENT, and Les Miserables: School Edition. He would like to thank his parents and friends for all of their support in his theater endeavors. Hope you enjoy the show!

Kaitlin Pearson (Ensemble): Kaitlin could not be more excited to be a part of such an amazing cast in this year’s FYP production of The Addams Family! A broadcast and digital journalism major from Chatham, NY, she is so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful FYP family. Kaitlin’s favorite past credits include Maria in The Sound of Music, Sandy in Grease, and Hope in Urinetown. She would like to thank her friends and family for their never-ending love and support in all that she does. “It’s family first and family last and family by and by.” Enjoy the show!

Bryan Rudd (Stage Crew): Bryan is very excited to be in theatre again by being on the stage crew for The Addams Family. It is a very surreal experience for Bryan to be working in theatre again. Bryan was in the cast for four musicals throughout high school, but decided to try stage crew for The Addams Family. Bryan is currently studying Biochemistry and Forensic Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. Bryan would like to thank his family and friends for supporting him throughout his journey.

Jesse Scheinbart (Ensemble): Hello! My name is Jesse Scheinbart, but my friends call me “Rusty Rob.” I enjoy going to FYP rehearsals and getting Dunkin Donuts with my mom. I graduated preschool in Westborough Massachusetts, so I guess that is where I consider “home.” I study Music Industry. Thx 2 Shan for being the wind in my sails. GO ADDAMS!!!! #44 Kiara Scott (Stage Crew): Kiara is stoked to be in the stage crew for The Addams Family. Even though she loves the theater, this is her first time being a part of a production. She prefers watching Netflix to long walks on the beach, or walking anywhere really. If you catch her in her natural habitat, she is most likely blogging about food, puppies or a band no one else has heard of. She suffers from a disease that causes her to break into song at the most random times...and it’s very contagious.

Ian Simpson (Uncle Fester): Ian is going bald with excitement for his role of Uncle Fester in the FYP production of The Addams Family! An undeclared major in the Newhouse School of Public Communications, Ian is also a member of Orange Appeal and has been active within the Syracuse University Hillel. Some past favorite roles include Saint Jimmy in American Idiot, Mal Beineke in The Addams Family, Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Danny Zuko in Grease. Ian would like to thank the cast, crew and staff for this amazing experience and opportunity.

Will Smart (Lucas Beineke): Will is shocked that he was cast in this show at all. His audition was sub-par and his callback was lackluster at best. However he’s willing to try, but isn’t promising much.

Ainsley Smith (Stage Crew): Being an Addams on Stage Crew has brought Ainsley so many memories that she will never forget! Growing up in a LaFayette, NY, a small town, she loves that FYP has given her a chance to keep pursuing her love for musicals. Being in FYP has changed her whole college career and has opened her up to so many great, insightful and enthusiastic individuals that she would not have met otherwise. FYP is surely her family on the Syracuse campus. It’s time to show ‘em the *SNAPPIEST* MUSICAL EVER! Cairo Spencer (Ensemble): Cairo is ecstatic to be in the cast of The Addams Family! Cairo prefers bowties over Windsor knots, gummy worms over chocolate and dancing OVER EVERYTHING. Cairo was last seen as Seaweed in Hairspray (SMHS) and as George in Drowsy

Chaperone (SMHS). Cairo would like to thank Jeanette Sacco-Belli, Mr.Freidman, Mrs.Musante and the Tribuzis for putting up with all his antics in the past while continuing to expand his love for performing.

Cairo would also like to extend a special thank you to the FYP staff for being so welcoming. For a cast as unique as this one, it needs a support staff who’s just as weird. Lastly, Cairo would like to make a shout out to his family, God, California and Will Smith.

Patricia Suro (Ensemble): Patricia has had an amazing experience with the cast, crew and staff of FYP and is so excited to finally perform with such a great group of people. Even though Patricia has been in many other musicals such as How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as Rosemary and A Chorus Line as Diana Morales, this is her first time performing at Syracuse University. Musicals have been a part of Patricia’s life ever since she was a little girl, and she has been able to perform in different shows throughout the five countries she has lived in. She would like to thank her family for supporting her and believing in her (shoutout to her parents for coming to see the show— they’re probably front row). She hopes you enjoy the show and keep your eyes out for the creepy twins!

Steven Szachara (Gomez): As a young child, Steven Szachara was always inspired to do what he wanted to do. There was nothing stopping him. He could be a transformer, a cowboy, a clonetrooper, etc. Name it, and he was it. This time around, he is playing Gomez, and he’s having a blast doing so. He’d like to thank his wonderful, beautiful family, Bernie, Jacquie, Spencer and Samantha Szachara, for all of their support and love. He’s blessed with this wonderful role and opportunity to be a part of the best organization at Syracuse University, and he couldn’t be happier. Finally, he’d like to thank his lovely cast, crew and staff for everything they’ve done this semester. “I love you guys, straight no chaser.”

Megan Wilcox (Ensemble): Megan is so beyond happy to be a part of this wonderful organization here at SU. Favorite past roles include Maisie in The Boyfriend, Jack’s Mother in Into the Woods and Ensemble in Les Misérables. In her spare time, Megan enjoys watching Harry Potter, singing in Main Squeeze and eating. She would like to thank the entire staff for their dedication to the show, as well as her cast for being amazing friends. Hooray for Full Disclosure!

STAFF/PIT BIOS Nick Abelgore (Pit Manager): A junior Music Performance major with a minor in Jazz Studies, this is Nick’s first year working with FYP. Although very soft-spoken, he has great hair, is more jacked than you, and he can play you under the table on the trombone. Perhaps that is why many have bestowed upon him the name “B.A. Nick.” Really though, he is just an underrated romantic and wants to share with you this insight: “Throw your heart over the bar and your body will follow.”

Dante Baldassin (Co-Assistant Choreographer): Dante is a sophomore architecture major who is very excited to be a part of staff this year. He is so grateful for the opportunity to be on the Choreography Team and help out with this wonderful interpretation of The Addams Family. In his free time, Dante enjoys choreographing dances to Beyoncé songs in his room as well as take trips to Petland just to pet puppies. He would like to thank both the Choreo Team and the cast for their dedication and love for dance.

Janette Bedoyan (Co-Props Manager): A Nutrition major from Los Angeles, California, Janette is thrilled to be on staff this year after taking part in FYP’s production of Rent last spring. Although being on stage crew for the show last year was amazing, she has enjoyed her time on staff just as much. She is so grateful for the opportunity to support all of the talent of The Addams Family cast and crew and is extremely proud of each and every one of them. Janette is so excited to see what this organization has in store for her in the next two years. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Remington Bennett (Assistant House Manager): Remington Bennett is a sophomore majoring in Broadcast Journalism. She is this year’s Assistant House Manager, and is so excited for this year’s production of The Addams Family! This is her second year in FYP, starting off as a crew member in last year’s production of RENT. She loves being a staff member and can’t wait to see what the new cast and crew has in store for this year’s production!

Shanice Bland (Documentarian): Shanice Bland is a junior Television Radio Film major from South Brunswick, NJ. She is sad that she won’t be there for the show, but she is sending all her love to the amazing staff members who are busting their butts for this show. Shanice is also wishing the beautiful cast and crew the most amazing three nights of their lives.

Shout out to my mentee, Chaz, for constantly doing his thing and Grandmentee, Adonys, who is cooler than cool. Also Wedding Singers rock *snap snap NAILS*

Shannon Bradley (Freshman Bonding): I’m so excited to be a part of the Freshman Bonding Team this year! Seeing The Addams Family cast and crew members become such great friends makes me so happy and proud to be a member of such an amazing organization. Congratulations on creating a wonderful show! FYP FYP FYP! Dominic Buccieri (Finance Director): Dominic has been giddy with excitement about being the Finance Director for The Addams Family since last May. He is fondly referred to as “Dolla Bill Dom” for his outstanding efforts fundraising this year, and he once ate a habanero pepper and had chocolate milk poured on his head all in the name of FYP. Dominic would like to applaud the rest of staff for all their efforts over the past year, and he would also like to congratulate the cast, crew and pit for being the stars they are. He hopes you “Find Your Place,” sit back, relax and enjoy the show! Justin Timberlake.

Joshua Brady (Stage Crew Assistant): Joshua is a sophomore Pre-Med student in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is very excited to be the Stage Crew Assistant this year and work with the amazingly talented cast and crew of The Addams Family. He is so proud of all of them and all they have accomplished this year. This is his second year in FYP, and he is so grateful to be a part of the best organization on campus!

Justin Cangiano (Aesthetic Manager): Justin is so honored and really excited to be the Aesthetic Manager for the The Addams Family. He loves everything to do with hair, makeup and costume design so he can’t wait for everyone to see the Art Team’s amazing creations! He is a senior studying Communications Design, and he is going to miss every single FYP member. He is so thankful for all of the memories he had with FYP. CJ Cervantes (Assistant Finance Director): I’ma let you finish, but CJ Cervantes was the best Assistant Finance Director of all time.

Myles Chalue (Mentor/Mentee): This is Myles’ first year with us in FYP, and he has been loving every minute of it. As a member of the Mentor/ Mentee Team he has been able to watch the cast grow and help them grow and “Find Your Place” in the organization. Along with FYP, he is also involved with Phi Sigma Pi, the gender-inclusive National Honors Fraternity on campus, and he is pursuing a dual degree in both Philosophy and Psychology with a minor in Educational studies. In his spare time, he volunteers at the Somali-Bantu Refugee Center tutoring children ranging in ages from 3-19.

Dreya Cherry (Bassoon): Dreya is really quite excited to be in the pit for The Addams Family. However, putting down her other accomplishments in a short bio would not do justice. You would be better off reading her memoir, She: A History of Adventure. As a toddler, Dreya stole the bassoon from the gods of Olympus and brought the gift of music to humans.

She suffered no repercussions, as the gods were too busy punishing Prometheus. Her deeds became known throughout the world, and she later found herself as the house musician in Buckingham Palace under the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. She is able to do all of this by channeling her inner spirit animal, Meryl Streep. Her favorite book is Pulp Fiction.

Jillian Clark (FYAbroad): Jillian loves FYP and will be watching the show with adoring eyes while in London. A special congrats to my beautiful Chapel Children on creating such a fantastic show.

Carina Clores (Community Events): When she isn’t busy incorporating Nicki Minaj verses into her daily conversations or re-watching Boardwalk Empire episodes, Carina is often seen eating something with cheese on it. Her future goals include visiting all 50 states, learning morse code and becoming an astronaut. She saw “Interstellar” two months ago, and she thinks it changed her life. It didn’t. She is nowhere near becoming an astronaut. She’s an English and Communications major who lives off of Grantland articles, Vice think pieces, her roommate’s cooking and Broad City. She wishes the best of luck to all the FYPeeps who made The Addams Family possible! To the impeccable cast and crew, “My anaconda don’t want none unless you have fun, huns!”

Chaz Delgado (Documentarian): Chaz is truly honored and fortunate to be one of the documentarians for First Year Players and most importantly, The Addams Family! It has been a great experience running around to photograph and video the crazy, wacky and weird moments of this super talented and energetic cast and crew. He looks forward to the audience members getting to watch these tremendously gifted students act, sing and dance their hearts out on stage. He wants to give a special shoutout to the staff that has been working on this show for months and is excited that all of their hard work has finally lead up to this moment!

Marcela de Moraes (Co-Technique Coach): Marcela is a sophomore Marketing Management major and Drama minor. She moved from Brazil three years ago to pursue her dream of working with performing arts.

She became a part of FYP last year for the musical, RENT, and now she is thrilled to be returning as a staff member and working with the choreography for The Addams Family. Marcela is so thankful to be part of this organization that provides the opportunity to work with the arts and share it with others.

Natasha del Amo (Assistant Stage Manager): Tashi-Go-Lean-Crunch is filled with jubilation to be part of FYP as a staff member after her short tenure as a 90’s stage crewie. Not only has stage managing this production revealed her as the real Liz Lemon, but it has also given her much love and light through meeting this wonderful cast, gaining so many fairy godchildren and the perfect Parks and Rec FYPham! If it was possible to enjoy an experience as much as listening to Serial or watching SNL 40, this would be it. “Stay golden, staffers; and to my Co-ASM: I love you more than the amount of lait I put in my café! Insouciant youths we are not.”

Nicholas DiNardo (Drumset/Percussion): Out here cookin’ up some beats. Get hungry; fresh grooves for supper tonight!

Gabriella Dizon (Social Chair): GD is a sophomore, first year staffer, in charge of coordinating social events for First Year Players. She’s so proud of all the Addams and all the hard work they’ve put into the show. She knows they’ll kill it! When she isn’t stuffing her face with Calios you can probably find her sending ugly snapchats to her perfect mentee, MAX MURPHY! Kelly Egan (Stage Crew Liaison): Once upon a kingdom far far away (Long Island) a beautiful princess was born. She had the most precious smile and eyes that sparkled like stars. When she was of age she ventured to the great land of Syracuse to learn the ancient art of human thought (psychology) and partake in the great show RENT as a world creator (stage crew). She is a joy to all that know her, especially her mentor, Hayley.

Keelan Erhard (Fundraising): Keelan is so excited to see The Addams Family finally on stage after working with the Finance Team for months on fundraising efforts! Keelan is from Buffalo, NY and is a sophomore Retail Management and Supply Chain Management major in the Whitman School of Management. Keelan is also a Renter and was a part of the ensemble in last year’s production of RENT. Aside from FYP, Keelan is involved with Student Association as an Assembly Representative, and he just music directed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with What Theatre this past semester.

Matt Fernandes (Acting Coach): Matt is excited to wrap up his senior year at SU by working with the incredible cast and crew of FYP. After four years of spending nights in Bird Library or taking up an entire Newhouse booth to himself, Matt is poised to graduate with a triple degree in Television, Radio, and Film, English, and Magic because the last one is the only way he’ll find a job. On a serious note, he’s happy for all the amazing ex-

periences FYP has given him, and he wants everyone in the organization to know that there is no other way he would rather have spent the past four years. For one last time, break a leg, everyone!

Emma Fierberg (Co-Technique Coach): Emma is positively delighted to be a part of the fiercest Choreo Team there ever was. Emma is a senior Photojournalism major hailing from West Hartford, CT. She was last seen on the Goldstein stage with her favorite group of classy and sassy ladies, SU’s premiere all-female a cappella group, The Mandarins. Fierceberg is a proud alum of Delta Omega and an all-time regular at Hillel at SU (Shoutout to my hebrews and shebrews)! She thanks the lord for Bob Martin for writing one of the greatest musicals of all time, The Drowsy Chaperone.

Joelynn Frascatore (Lighting Designer): Joelynn is a senior Physics major and this is her first year as a member of FYP. She would like to thank the stagehands and spotlights for (hopefully) putting up with her tyrannical perfectionism during this past week. She would also like to thank Event & Technical Services in general for allowing her to have an amazing job and a creative outlet during her time at Syracuse University. CAPS. Rachel Free (Head Graphic Designer): Rachel is so excited to be sharing the hauntingly terrific thrill of FYP with the cast, crew and pit of The Addams Family! Rachel (Ran or RanFree to those who know her best) is a senior Communications Design major graduating in May. She’s in love with this school and this organization and can’t believe this is her last FYP show (3rd as Head GD). Rachel would like to especially thank Shannon for being amazing, Kate for keeping her sane, Lisa for being a spectacular PR Director, and Lauren, David and all of her mentee extended family! <3 FYPR 4 LYFE Shannon Gately (Assistant Graphic Designer): Shannon Gately is a senior fashion design major from Cumberland, Rhode Island. The last four years she has worked on the art team and PR team in various jobs. First Year Players has been her family throughout college, and she is so grateful for all the people she was able to meet through it. Shannon would like to thank Dad, Mom and Artie for being incredibly supportive and always being there for her. She would also like to thank all her friends in fashion for keeping each other sane during long hours at the warehouse. Finally she would like to thank Joe Biden for being her inspiration in life.

Brendan Germain (Assistant Stage Manager): Brendan is,… well, he’s some sort of way about this show. One could say insouciant, others would

argue jocular, he would say to these non-tangible avatars who are saying this that he’s beyond ecstatic! It goes without saying, or typing, not really sure who’s doing either at this point, that becoming one of the assistant stage managers was a ploy in order to work in cahoots with the cast-members. On what? On having an excuse to try on the costumes...duh. As a recent pledge of the entitled millennials movement that has been gaining traction in CNY as of November 2014, Brendan is overly – and overtly, proud of all the new indoctrinations that comprise the cast and crew. Bon Chance (wait that’s means good luck), Sprechen Sie Deutsch and break a leg to all the cast, crew, staff and patrons who come in free during intermission just to see the second act. Lauren Green (Public Relations Liaison): Lauren Green is a junior Public Relations major, Sport Management minor and is part of the Fashion and Beauty Communications Milestone program. Green is part of the FYPublic Relations team and was in the ensemble of The Wedding Singer. She has been performing since she was five, but has loved being on staff for FYP the last two years. She can’t wait to officially welcome all The Addams Family cast, crew and pit to staff next year!

Bryana Greer (Community Events Chair): I’ve grown to love each and every single castie, and I just know that they are going to KILL all of their performances. It has been a beautiful process watching them grow as both performers and as people over the last few months. I’m so lucky to call them my friends. I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH. GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT! Whitney Harrigan (Community Events): Whitney Harrigan is honored to be a member of the Community Events Team! Congrats to everyone who helped to put this show together to make it absolutely AMAZING! Break a leg to all the casties, crewies and pitties, and a special shout out to my mentee, AJ!! WOO! Rachel Heyman (Vocal Coach): Rachel is so excited to be working on The Addams Family this year. In her free time you may find her singing a tune with le squeeze de main or playing any type of instrument in Crouse late at night. She would first like to shout out the chapel children for being amazing roommates and best friends (wooooo pig sooie!!!). She would also like to recognize Helen, Simon, Alexander, Dan and Badass Nick for our lives in music. Last but not least, she is THE MOST proud of her perfect beautiful little mentee, Collin, who consistently slays and is essentially perfect. Break legs to everyone!

Ben Hirsh (Set Construction): is a sophomore studying Aerospace Engineering and was so excited to do set construction for The Addams Family.

Last year, he had an awesome experience doing stage crew for FYP’s production of RENT. During high school, he worked on set design for two years on shows including: Working, The Odd Couple and The Diviners.

Ben also designed props for an original musical, Saving Seatown, which was performed abroad by his peers in Scotland.

Samantha Ho (Documentarian): After being abroad in China for the first semester of this year, Sammie Ho is extremely ecstatic to be back home and reunited with an organization that she calls family. She is just as equally excited to be one of the documentarians for The Addams Family and feels absolutely blessed to have the opportunity to work creatively with a new cast, crew and pit. Their talent and passion (as well as all of FYP’s talent and passion) continue to inspire her everyday and she can’t wait to witness everyone’s hard work come together on opening night!

Katherine Kelley (Violin): Sarah Katherine Kelley was born in 1996. At the age of five, she traveled to the year 2150, where she learned telepathy, nuclear fission and violin. When she returned to her own time period, she was hailed as a violin prodigy and performed in many prestigious recital halls, including the cafeteria of White Oaks Elementary School and the inside of a volcano. She spends her free time searching New York for the perfect cookie. She very excited to be in the pit for FYP’s production of The Addams Family! Her favorite book is Pulp Fiction.

Eric King (Events Coordinator): “I am honored to even be nominated in a category with such talented women. This group of staffers prove that there are still meaningful roles in FYP for AP Team members over 40. I would like to thank Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore and the other women nominated in this category, as well as the hundreds of women who came before us who have proved time and time again that we deserve to have our stories heard. Growing up in suburban Ohio, I never thought that I would be standing here, the events coordinator for a student theater org at a medium-sized private university. Thank you to my cast, the Renters, I am nothing without you and my agent Andrew Martini for never giving up on me. God bless.”

Magda Knysz (Aesthetic Budget Head): Magda is a professional hiker and cupcake enthusiast who loves jumping into snow banks and baking enough to feed a small army. She is a Renter, an engineering major, and a proud member of the dynamic duo R5. She’s so excited to be a part of this year’s art team and is so ready to see what comes out of everyone’s hard work. Dance parties are a favorite for this certified pierogi aficionado who

enjoys serial-watching Friends in her spare time. She wants to wish everyone in this FYPham the best of luck with this show and always remember, “Don’t let the man get you down, kids.”

Mike Landivar (Set Construction Scheduling Head): Mike is a junior currently pursuing a B.M. in Music Industry with Performance Honors, as well as a minor in Psychology. After an incredible first year working on the Set Construction team for RENT, he is beyond excited to help put together his second FYP Production, The Addams Family. Mike has truly enjoyed getting to know everyone on this year’s Art Team and throughout the organization over this past academic year .

Stephanie Lane (Props Head): This is Stephanie’s first year in FYP and consequently her first year on staff! This has honestly been the best thing that she’s done in college, and she’s super grateful to everyone for the amazing experiences that this year has brought! So much FYLove!!!

Chang Jong Lee (Keyboard 2): Chang is super excited to be part of the pit orchestra for The Addams Family! Chang is currently a junior, BA in Music Major in Setnor School of Music. He plays keyboard instruments including piano and Pipe Organ, and he sings as a tenor in multiple choirs on the SU campus. Chang is from Seoul, South Korea, and he has been studying in the United States for past seven years. Chang wants to work in the music industry after college! Oh, and his favorite book is Pulp Fiction.

Michael Liebenson (Director): Someone once said to Michael Charles Liebenson, “Wow you’re really tall, you should direct a full scale musical of an iconic family with dark and vaudevillian undertones!” And that’s exactly what he did. Mike has eagerly taken on the task to direct The Addams Family, while still balancing being a Television, Radio, Film major and singing with Orange Appeal, Syracuse’s first all-male a cappella group.

Hailing from grand ol’ Chicago (that toddling town), “Straight Mike” played Sammy in First Year Players 2013 production of The Wedding Singer. He was last seen in The Pillowman down at the Syracuse Stage.

Mike couldn’t have done it without the support from his parents, his five salacious chapel children, The Wedding Singers, the amazing directing team, the bombtastic executive board, the INCREDIBLE staff, Gayle and Gloria, Angelica Huston, Joan Cusack, Sandra Oh, Sarah Keonig and of course, the cast, crew and pit. This one’s for you, Gampy. #Mammamia #flatizza #kanyewest Marissa Maggio (Campus Outreach): Freshman year, Marissa had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the ensemble of The Wedding Singer cast. As a sophomore, she and her FYP mentor were the masters of Hair &

Makeup for the overwhelmingly successful RENT. But this year, Marissa is ecstatic to be promoting The Addam’s Family around campus! She would like to wish all of the cast, crew, and staff a lot of snaps & a ton of nails.

MacKenzie Maloney (Stage Manager): MacKenzie is a senior Advertising major from Wakefield, MA, She feels so lucky to have been given the opportunity to work so closely with the cast, crew and pit this year in her role as stage manager. After many long nights, hectic rehearsals and crazy meetings, MacKenzie is excited for the world to see just how incredible and talented these people truly are. She would like to say thank you to her amazing team and fellow E-Board members for working so hard to make this production and experience as amazing as possible and to her mom, dad and sister for understanding when she went weeks without calling because she was too busy and loving her anyways.

Paul Mancano (Assistant Director): Paul is thrilled to work on his first show as a member of the Directing Team. Last year, Paul appeared in FYP’s production of RENT (“The Man”). At St. Joseph’s Prep, Paul appeared in five shows for the Cape & Sword Drama Society, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (“William Barfée”) and One Man, Two Guvnors (“Francis Henshall”). On campus, Paul serves as the Sports Director at WJPZ Radio. “Thank you to my parents for fostering in me a deep love of theater and to Tony Braithwaite for teaching me to always strive for the magis.”

Katie Mangol (Makeup Designer): Katie is super excited to be working as a first year staff member for The Addams Family. Katie has had a passion for musical theater starting at a very young age, seeing her first and favorite musical, Gypsy, when she was only nine years old. Since then, Katie has starred and worked backstage as the Makeup Artist for many musicals, including: Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinafore, Aladdin JR., Little Women, The Secret Garden, and most recently, Katie starred in her high school’s production of Calamity Jane. Katie would like to thank the producers for giving her the opportunity to be in the best organization at Syracuse University, and she would like to wish the cast and crew good luck on tonight’s performance!

Andrew Martini (Co- Assistant Producer): Andy has come a long way after the tragic loss of his favorite cowboy and astronaut toys as a young boy. Considering, Andy is flourishing at SU, shining as Sheldon or Gordon or something in last year’s RENT, becoming a regular at Faculty, and acting as co-assistant producer and E-Board member for this year’s show. You can catch him around campus swingin’ and a singin’ with

Orange Appeal, workin’ the desk and handing out job advice from an unemployed sophomore at the CDC, and PRing it up in Newhouse. Of all the great things he’s done this year, birthing the name “Honch” with his dear friend and co-parent to Honch, Nikki Mezaros, takes the cake. A special shout out to his partner in crime, the girl he wouldn’t have made it through the year without, Olivia Shaw. Shout out to the RENT cast (they’re his support group, who motivate him everyday), the E-Board, the staff and the cast, crew and pit for another great FYP show. Best of luck to the Drowsy cast, who he will dearly miss as they graduate, even though he knows their spirit will stay alive in the organization forever and always (cue butterflies).

Lindsey Mazza (Event Coordinator): Lindsey Mazza, a Wedding Singer from Princeton NJ, holds the position of Events Coordinator on the incredible AP Team. She is an Information Management and Technology major with minors in Marketing and Nutrition Science. Lindsey needs nothing more than FYP, baby animals and the love and support of the brothers of Phi Sigma Pi, the Honors Fraternity on campus. She is so so proud of The Addams Family cast and crew and can’t wait for everyone to see how much hard work the cast, crew, pit and staff put into this show. “HI MOMS LOVE YOU!” Samantha McAllister (Co-Producer): Samantha is a psychology major from Windsor, Connecticut. Besides FYP she has had the privilege to be a member of U100, orientation leaders, pulse performing arts board and a volunteer for the office of health services. To her magnificent co-producer Drew, Sam says, “I could not have done this without you and am so proud of all you did this year.” To her incredible APs Sam says, “Andrew and Olivia, we never had to worry with you by our side and I appreciate that wholeheartedly.” To the rest of the fantastic eboard, Sam says, “It has been such an honor to work beside you and to see each and everyone of you flourish. You have made this year everything that it is and I am so impressed with all if you.” To the PERFECT cast, crew and pit Sam says, “I hope moving forward you take advantage of every opportunity this organization provides you. You are all fantastic. I love you all so very much, break so many legs tonight.” Finally, to the wonderful Drowsies Sam says, “The best that we can do is hope a bluebird will sing his song as we stumble along. I wish you all the best, and love you all.”

Will McDonald (Dramaturge): Will McDonald is a senior Television, Radio and Film major from Scituate, MA. He played Feldzieg in FYP’s 2012 production of The Drowsy Chaperone and has held various positions on staff over the past few years. He wishes many broken legs to all of the incredibly talented cast and crew members. He is very proud to be part of this organization and will miss everyone lots next year.

Bridget McGlone (Music Director): An expose on Bridget McGlone: Some would say all Bridget McGlone cares about is Bridget McGlone. However, Bridget McGlone herself would have to disagree. She has plenty of other interests: music directing, putting her hair in front of one eye and singing about wolves and moon BLEEPs with Main Squeeze a cappella, and her close baes, Nikki, Beck, Shenkman, and Lea Pea. As a senior, she’s feeling a bit nostalgic of her time on the Goldstein stage with the Drowsy Cast, but she is excited to graduate with a dual degree in Music and Communication Sciences & Disorders. Good luck or whatever to the cast, crew, pit and staff and shout out to the only person she truly cares about: Bridget McGlone.

Nikki Mezaros (Co-Art Director): Best known for infamous bio creations, Ms. Mezaros is responsible for writing this year’s bios of Ms. Prywes, Ms. Nob, Ms. McGlone, Mr. Shenkman, Mr. Martini and one sentence of Mr. Liebenson’s because he practices very strict censorship rules. Nikki, formerly known as Nicole, is a TRF major (and Architecture minor, never forget) graduating this May. Because she’s been a bit of a team hopper, as Assistant Music Director, Stage Manager and Co-Art Director, Nikki has been lucky enough to see the organization from every angle and is so proud of what it accomplishes every year. She’d like to thank her roomies Lea Pea, Bridget, Shenkman and Beck Anne for being okay, the executive board for dealing with the three hour time difference and her eating/ watching TV during the poor-wifi ridden Skype sessions for her fall semester “abroad,” the art team, the staff and I guess, the cast/crew/pit for performing or whatever. Finally, she gives her best wishes to the many, many generations of FYP to come.

Jay Mills (Head Set Painter): Jay is a junior Biophysics and Art double major. Hailing from Hong Kong, Jay moved to California at eight and currently resides in the frozen wasteland, called Syracuse. In his free time Jay enjoys scrolling through Tumblr late at night and watching cat videos.

Jay’s life revolves around food and music. His favorite foods include sushi and pho.

Madelyn Minicozzi (Props Designer): Maddi is a new addition to the FYPHAM with this being her first year in FYP and staff! Becoming a part of FYP has greatly changed her college experience, and she wouldn’t trade this opportunity for the world! Maddi has met so many AMAZING people who have brightened her life!

Gillian Monka (Finance): Gillian is stoked to be a part of FYP staff for this year’s production of The Addams Family! Often, you can find her fan-girling at stage doors of Broadway shows. She gives thanks to Garett

Hawe, Nick Laughlin, and Pierce Cassedy for all of their theatrical inspiration. Seize the day! xoxo gossip guuuuurl Drew Muller (Co-Producer): This is Drew’s first serious bio as a member of FYP, and he’s very proud of it. He never thought he would perform in a musical, let alone produce one, so needless to say, FYP has been an experience full of firsts and friends that he wouldn’t trade for the world. He couldn’t be prouder of this organization and where it is headed.

Julia Newman (Senior Events): Julia Newman is a sophomore and joined FYP last year as a cast member of RENT. She is a television, radio and film major with a music industry minor from Nantucket, MA. Julia simply loves everything involving dancing, music and theater. She wants to wish the best of luck to the cast and crew of The Addams Family and is sending special mentor love to Sam Fioravanti!

Jaylyn Noble (Choreographer): Throw some glitter make it rain...Hey y’all, it’s Jay Nob. The Glitter Queen hails from the royal state of Virginia to study Pre-Law at SU, where she has really acclimated to the peasants by showing she’s “Just like them,” through actions such as sleeping on stairs and helping pick up spilled peas in the dining halls. She’s loved mixing in with the common people, choreographing for them, and watching them dance her beautiful, regal dances on stage. She’d like to thank the academy, her Drowsy cast members, her family, the e-board, her team, the staff and her cast, crew and pit. Sparkle just like she taught you to.

Laura Norton (Flute/Piccolo/Ukulele): Laura Norton was born Bethany LouAnne Redson in the Kingdom of Prussia c. 1910. Her father, inventor of the VHS and CEO of RedJeff Home Video, taught her flute at a young age to ward off the evil pixies that targeted the Redson family empire.

When this proved unsuccessful, they changed their names and emigrated to the U.S. Since then, Laura Norton has flourished as the head of the Norton School of Flutism and Early Slavic Linguistics. She has released five classical albums, two hip-hop albums and a Grammy-winning jazz album, Anxiety. Laura spends her free time tearing apart phonebooks with her bare hands and taking care of her prized flute, named Josh Groban. Her favorite book is Pulp Fiction.

David Peer (Set Crew Head): David is super excited to be working on The Addams Family with FYP as Set Crew Head! Everyone has worked so hard, and he couldn’t be prouder of the set crew, pit and cast! Much love to my new FYPHAMILY. Thank you all for giving me this great opportunity. David is a junior Music Industry major with a minor in Drama.

Christopher Pino (Freshman Bonding): Chris is a sophomore pre-dental student who was a part of FYP’s production of RENT last year where he played Collins. He’s so happy to pass on the torch to these incoming freshman, and he hopes they had a great experience just like he did last year. He’s also a pretty big video game nerd so there’s that. ENJOY THE SHOW! Kate Poland (Community Outreach Representative): Kate is a junior Women’s & Gender studies major with minors in English & Textual Studies and Spanish. She is very excited to be participating in her third year as a member of First Year Players; her freshman year she was a cast member of The Wedding Singer and her sophomore year she was a member of the freshman bonding team. Outside of FYP, Kate is a member of S.A.S.S.E and performed in their production of The Vagina Monologues this past February. When she’s not attending class or staff meetings, Kate enjoys conversing over Feminist issues, admiring the five perfect members of One Direction and watching horror movies on Netflix. Kate wants to wish the cast, crew and pit the best of luck!

Jacob Posega (Bass Guitar): Vegan, crazy cat person, narwhalogist, tea enthusiast, started college at the snowiest university in the United States (MTU), Trekkie, bass guitar hoarder, Rush devotee, anthropology major, fountain pen aficionado, long-term beard grower, Picard > Kirk, 42 is the only number that counts, Lil Bub fan, plays 6 string bass just to intimidate guitar players, often up late pondering how Murdoc survived so many deaths, Live long and prosper, make it so, reverse the polarity, and make sure it does timey wimey things. Q’apla!

Lisa Prywes (Public Relations Director): Rumor has it that Lisa is removing the ‘W’ from her last name to be “PR YES!” Until then, you can catch her cheerleading on ESPN during game day or doing PR-y things with her on-campus activities involving PR for some org, PR for another org, PR for something that may or may not be an org or handing out Victoria Secret PINK sunglasses on-campus. Off-duty, the PR Princess spends her spare time watching Gilmore Girls and Sex and the City obsessively and badgering people in a terrifying manner to “Send in their bios already!”

She’d like to thank her beautiful, shining stars of roommates, Nikki, Bridget, Shenkman and Becky for not only making her time in FYP great, but also for making her entire Syracuse experience incredible. She’d also like to thank her Drowsy cast, her supportive and loving family, her incredible PR Team, especially her talented and creative Assistant PR Director, TJ, and the cast/crew/pit for still performing under the great pressure of knowing a PR deadline may be looming in the future.

Erin Reimel (Hair & Makeup Assistant): Erin is so excited to be working with the cast and crew this year doing their wild and crazy hair and makeup! She was in the cast of The Wedding Singer and loves working so close with each FYProduction! She wants to thank her MOMS and of course each and every other member of the FYPhamily for making college such an amazing experience, and she cannot wait to see where the organization is headed! Congrats to the cast, crew, pit and staff of FYP, who are all such superstars!

Jeffrey Rich (Assistant PR Director): Jeff is ecstatic to be a part of First Year Players! Jeff is a Drowsy (aka Senior) Television, Radio, Film major.

He currently has a lot of free time on his hands since he isn’t busy helping Boehiem strategize on how to win March Madness. Jeff lives his life by the motto of Colonel Saunders who once said, “I’m too drunk to taste this chicken.” Break a leg to this incredibly talented Addams Family cast!

Dylan Rocke (Guitar): It takes a lot to make a stew, but Dylan Rocke will never spoil the broth. This guitarist has an uncanny habit of stumbling into the FYPit, back for his third and final run. You may recognize him from his big break back in 1984, when he landed the role of the lovable Falkor the Luck Dragon from The Neverending Story. After that stint was done, he retired from the public eye. Some say he embarked on a vision quest of self-discovery in the Andromeda Galaxy, but in reality, nobody knows for sure. In his free time, he sips on Louis XIII de Remy Martin from the Holy Grail at the head of The Round Table. His favorite book is Pulp Fiction.

Jesse Roth (Campus Outreach): Jesse Roth is a senior Acting major from Los Angeles, CA. She is supposed to be a Drowsy. She is currently #abroad in New York City. Mad love to PR team and Lisa for all the hard work they’ve done.

Melissa Ruh (House Manager): Melissa is a junior Political Science major from a small town in Massachusetts. Although she misses performing on stage immensely, she loves working creatively on the design of the lobby and house for The Addams Family. She would like to thank her FYPhamily for being such an amazing support system and for showing her so much love over the past three years. Also, a big shout out to the best mentee in the world! Daniel Sclafani (Pit Conductor): Dan Sclafani is super duper excited to be the Pit Conductor for The Addams Family musical this year. Dan Sclafani is from Effort, PA, approximately 26 minutes from the Stroudsburg metropolitan area located in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania. Since living in the backwoods, he has majored in music education with performance honors at Syracuse University, spending much time honing his skills on the saxophone. He plans on graduate study in saxophone performance, thus spending much time praying to the saxophone gods. He has been involved with musicals since high school, and this is his third year as a member of the First Year Players staff--what a ride. Anywho, hope you enjoy the show! (And remember: “You never know what to expect...when you’re living on the side of danger.”)

Alison Sekerak (Set Designer): Although currently studying abroad in NYC for her third year in the School of Architecture, Alison is extremely excited to be a part of the creative minds in FYP. This is the second set that Alison has designed for FYP, the other being last year’s RENT. Becky Shafer (Digital Documentarian): You can usually find this #drowsy magazine major at a booth in Newhouse, pen in hand. As the digital documentarian this year, Becky enjoyed putting her writing skills to work to help promote The Addams Family. Becky would like to thank her baes (you know who you are), her wonderful roommates, and all who’ve come before us in FYP to make this thang happen year after year.

Being a part of the stage management team has been a great experience. Olivia Shaw (Co-Assistant Producer): Olivia is so grateful to be an Assistant Producer of FYP. Because of FYP, Olivia had an unforgettable freshman experience. Alex Shenkman (Co-Assistant Music Director): Tragically missing a first name, Shenkman is known as the curly haired cuddle bear of the Music Team. You can catch him jumping up and down on any given day on stage with his bros till the end, Orange Appeal. After all, bros before hoes and hoes before other less useful gardening tools. FYP was cool, he guesses, but Shenkman is moving on to bigger and better things, makin’ music to better the world around him. That reminds him, he really needs work so if you need him to compose something please call his landline.

Kailey Smith (Co-Assistant Choreographer): Kailey is ecstatic to be one of the co-assistant choreographers for The Addams Family. She has been dancing her whole life and is so thankful to have the opportunity to put her knowledge, passion and creativity into such a great musical. Kailey is a junior Music Industry major from Long Island and is a Wedding Singer. Some of her other hobbies and interests include singing with Main Squeeze, welcome week at SU and warm blankets. She would like to thank the FYP staff for all their hard work and sense of excitement, and her family for always being supportive and loving. Congratulations to the cast, crew, pit and staff on a fantastic production!

Steven Spohr (Set Construction): On any given day, you can find Steven playing basketball, working with ETS in Schine, or hanging out with his FIJI brothers. Oh, and sometimes he works with this organization called First Year Players. He has been working in theater for eight years, and he has never been as excited for a production as he is with The Addams Family. Every single staffer has worked tirelessly to create this fantastic show, and he is excited for the new cast and crew to absolutely kill it. Break a leg!

Andre Solomon (Flute): Once upon a time there was a young boy that had the power bestowed upon him to play the flute. He traveled far and wide playing in jazz flute festivals around the world. His songs would create such emotions that everyone would bow to his feet. Now he plays in Syracuse, giving his sweet music to the college kids. May his flute playing inspire you all.

Chip Weber (Freshman Bonding): Last year, Chip was Roger in FYP’s production of RENT and it changed his entire life. This year, he is on the Freshman Bonding Team on staff and loves making these first year students b o n d. Chip is a Music Industry student at the Setnor School of Music where he studies Voice and loves anything and everything theater and music. When Chip isn’t doing things with FYP, you can find him in Crouse (usually with Shannon Bradley), pulling his hair out from atonal music and Music History tests. Congratulations to the whole FYP staff for putting on a great show, and GOOD LUCK to all of the Casties, Crewies and Pittles!! <3

Khari Walser (Creations Specialist): Khari Walser is a sophomore, Fashion Design major, Drama minor and Creations Specialist on the costume team for this year’s production of The Addams Family. He is from Teaneck, New Jersey. Besides being a member of FYP Khari is also a member of Orange Appeal an a cappella group on campus and participates in DanceWorks every year. He loves food, movies, music and most importantly theater and can’t wait to see the cast shine tonight and wishes them the best of luck!

TJ Wells (Assistant PR Director): Terence James Wells The First hails from Abington MA. As Assistant PR Director, he still managed to send in this bio late, but has to thank Lisa for letting him still put it in the program.

S/O to the mentee Neil and OT Jesse for killing it in The Addams Family, as well as the Renters, Otto Tunes, the fam and friends. -Benjamin Coffin III Nalae White (FYP Abroad Coordinator): Nalae is a sophomore majoring in Television, Radio, Film and Raging Your Face Off (turn up or transfer).

She spends her free time fuming about her lack of a probable future with Kevin Spacey and figuring out new ways to procrastinate. Other than that, FYP is her entire life. Fry Your Potatoes.

Tyler Wolcott (Associate Lighting & Set Designer): Tyler is a junior Architecture major with a Theater Design minor, from Rochester, NY. Tyler is excited to bring his expertise in design and fierce yet fabulous personality to The Addams Family while currently studying Abroad in Florence, Italy.

Previous credits include Lighting Designer for First Year Players’ production of RENT, Lighting Designer for SU Drama’s Black Box Production of Lord of the Flies, and Assistant Lighting Designer on SU Drama’s Stepping Out. Quinntassia Worrell (Senior Class Events Coordinator): Quinntassia is a junior ETS major on the film and screen studies track from Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in a family that had no idea what a show tune was, she was left to journey into the world of musical theater alone, and it was the best decision she could ever make. Though she doesn’t have much talent, she does enjoy surrounding herself with people who do, and FYP has so much she could drown in it. FYP was a major factor in her college making decisions, and she is so grateful to be part of such an incredibly inspiring organization.
