Welcome to FXU Freshers! Over the next couple of weeks we plan to showcase what we, and the campus, have to offer during your time studying in Cornwall. We’re starting this year with 94 different sports clubs and societies! Take a look through our Activities Directory to see what takes your fancy and get stuck in with the various taster sessions which are on offer FOR FREE! That’s right, there are no membership fees until AFTER Freshers. We’ve also got volunteering activities, environmental projects and, of course, the big Stannary nights. So whether you want to have a go at Quidditch, join a sports team or walk around dressed like a zombie, we’ve got you covered. Sunday 14th September Shinty Taster Session 14:00-16:00 Falmouth School Rugby Club Shinty is an ancient Scottish stick sport. Similar to the Irish sport of Hurling it is definitely something to try whilst at university. It is perfect for people wanting to try a new sport, keep fit, meet friends and enjoy an active social life. Once everyone is together we will then walk down to Rebel Brewery, CSM’s local watering hole. At the brewery there is a growing collection of CSM memorabilia, here you’ll be able to find out about the history of the mining school and get to know your peers for the next few years.
