Impact Report 2024-25
Dear Fort Worth Christian Community,
This past year has been a tremendous reminder of the Lord’s provision and faithfulness to the ministry of FWC. Time and again, we have witnessed His hand guiding our steps, providing for our needs, and blessing our students, families, and staff in extraordinary ways. As we continue to move Forward With Christ, our mission remains rooted in ensuring that every student is known, loved, and valued, taught excellence in and out of the classroom, and empowered by a biblical worldview. This year’s annual report is a reflection of the lives being transformed through that mission.
We have much to celebrate. In Advancement, we experienced the most successful fundraising year in school history, raising a record-breaking $2,923,188. Parent participation in giving reached an all-time high at 88%, and both our Auction Gala and golf tournament set new records, raising $417,000 and $34,000 respectively. Corporate sponsorships also reached new heights with $397,000 raised.
Capital giving totaled $1.2 million and helped fund key projects, including the installation of baseball stadium lights and the construction of our new security station—tangible signs of the Lord’s provision through our generous community.
In Fine Arts, more than 60 students participated in a stunning spring production of The Little Mermaid, showcasing not only their talents but their collaboration and creativity. In Athletics, we celebrated sixteen student-athletes from the Class of 2025 who committed to compete at the collegiate level, and our boys track team brought home both a regional runner-up title and a TAPPS state championship in the 4x200 relay.
Our enrollment held steady at 721 students, with an unprecedented 94% re-enrollment rate-evidence of strong family satisfaction and trust in our school’s mission and direction. Academically, we continued to implement Teaching for Transformation, helping students connect their learning to God’s bigger story. We celebrated one National Merit Commended Scholar and 25 national award recipients in Latin and Spanish, while 91% of AP test takers earned passing scores. Our 64th Commencement Ceremony honored the Class of 2025-70 seniors who were accepted to 75 colleges across 25 states, earning over $6.2 million in scholarships and accumulating more than 1,000 hours of college credit through AP and dual credit coursework.
One of the most meaningful weeks of the year was our ninth annual Cardinal Service Week. More than 5,000 combined hours of service were given by our Upper School students and faculty across the DFW area and around the world. These experiences left a lasting impact not only on those we served, but on our students and staff as well. This week stands as one of the clearest pictures of what it means to be a community committed to Christ-centered leadership, compassion, and purpose.
As you reflect on these pages, I hope you are encouraged by the Lord’s goodness to our school, inspired by the unique gifts our students discover and share, and filled with gratitude for the faculty and staff who pour themselves daily into the lives of our students. Their work is more than a profession-it is a calling, and it is changing lives.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and partnership as we boldly move Forward With Christ.

We are deeply grateful for the faithful and dedicated service of Cal Smallwood, a proud Fort Worth Christian alumnus and valedictorian of the Class of 1998. Since joining the Board of Trustees in 2017, Cal has been a source of wisdom, integrity, and steady leadership. His roles as Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Finance Committee were marked by thoughtful decision-making and a deep commitment to the mission of FWC.
Throughout his tenure, Cal’s passion for Christian education and his love for FWC were evident in every conversation and contribution. He played a key role in guiding the school through important milestones and challenges, always keeping students, families, and the long-term vision at the center.
As he steps away from the Board, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for his years of tireless service and meaningful impact. Cal’s legacy of servant leadership and unwavering support will continue to shape the future of our school for years to come.
Thank you, Cal, for investing your time, energy, and heart into the FWC community. You have made a lasting difference.

The Annual Giving Campaign is your investment in the people and programs that make FWC excellent. Your tax-deductible gifts support our commitment to provide competitive salaries for our faculty, innovative technology for a dynamic learning environment, and need-based scholarships. Your generosity advances our mission of being a Christ-centered, college preparatory school where every student is known, loved, and valued, taught excellence in and out of the classroom, and empowered by a biblical worldview. This is an opportunity to make a difference each year in the educational experience at Fort Worth Christian.
Faculty - Supports our commitment to attract and retain outstanding faculty by providing competitive salaries, training, and professional development.
Technology- Supports technology integration for an innovative and dynamic learning environment
Need Based Scholarships- Supports need-based tuition assistance for mission-fit students who have demonstrated financial need and desire to be part of our Christ-centered, college preparatory school.
Athletics/Fine Arts - Supports the athletics/fine arts budget for all sports.
This year, each head coach at Fort Worth Christian shared a “wish list” of specific items their programs needed to strengthen training, improve facilities, and support athletes. Parents and donors were then able to select and purchase items directly for the sport of their choice.
The response was overwhelming. From new equipment to program enhancements, our athletic teams were blessed by the generosity of the Cardinal community. This approach not only gave families and donors the opportunity to make a tangible impact but also allowed them to connect more personally with the programs they love.
Thanks to the generosity of so many, the Athletics Wish Lists were a huge success and have already begun making a difference for our student-athletes.

We’re excited to welcome Natalie Gary ('97) as the new Director of Alumni Relations at Fort Worth Christian! A proud alum and Cardinal mom, Natalie brings a deep love for FWC and a passion for connecting alumni across generations. She and her husband, Jeff Gary ('96), recently celebrated 25 years of marriage and are raising four sons—three current and future Cardinals!
In addition to her successful real estate career, Natalie and Jeff actively serve at The Hills Church, mentoring others in faith.
“FWC shaped my life and continues to impact our boys. I can't wait to meet more of our amazing alumni!” — Natalie Gary
We also thank Terry Drake ('74) for his years of faithful service as Alumni Director. His legacy of connection and care will continue to bless generations of Cardinals.

A heartfelt thank you to Katelyn Malone, Jaclyn Herrera, Wendy Reedy, and Christina Bartha for your tireless dedication and leadership in making this year's gala an unforgettable success.
Your creativity, commitment, and countless hours of preparation helped us host the most successful gala in Fort Worth Christian history - raising an incredible $417,000 to support our school community. We are deeply grateful for all you've done!
For the ninth year running, Cardinal Service Week has once again wrapped up in a remarkable display of compassion, purpose, and unity. What began as a simple idea—to love and serve others in Christ’s name—has blossomed into a defining tradition of Fort Worth Christian’s Upper School. As our local teams conclude their final projects and our traveling students begin their journeys home, we pause in collective gratitude and reflection.
From the heart of DFW to far-flung corners of the globe, our students rolled up their sleeves, opened their hearts, and lived out the gospel through action. Whether serving at shelters, children’s homes, churches, or community programs, our students dedicated the week to selfless service, becoming the hands and feet of Christ.
This year’s service efforts stretched across neighborhoods and nations—domestically and internationally. The scope was staggering: approximately 5,000 hours of service were poured into communities in need. While the precise number may be elusive, the impact is unmistakable. Homes were repaired, shelves were stocked, children were mentored, and hearts were uplifted. The light of Christ was visible in every encounter.
But the transformation didn’t stop at those we served. It was also etched deeply into the lives of the students, faculty, and staff who participated. Service Week has become a time not just for giving, but for growing—growing in faith, in compassion, and in a lifelong commitment to servant leadership.
This incredible impact would not be possible without the trusted partners who welcomed our students with open arms and shared in the mission of restoration and hope. We are thankful to have walked beside the following organizations:

The endowment currently provides need-based scholarships. The school is seeking to grow need-based scholarship support as well as develop support for merit-based scholarships. In addition, our goal is to receive endowed gifts for the school’s faculty fund to attract and retain outstanding teachers. The corpus of endowed gifts is invested with an independent investment firm with the oversight of the school administration and foundation board. The foundation distributes a percentage of the endowment earnings to the school to be used for the designated purpose of the endowed gift.
"Fort Worth Christian School is grateful to Jim and Nancy Snelson for establishing the Pauline and Ed Snelson Endowed Fund that honors Jim’s parents who were both instrumental in the early years of Fort Worth Christian. Ed Snelson served as one of the school’s first trustees and Pauline Snelson helped begin a group known as the Associated Women for Christian Education. This endowment honors them and supports need-based tuition assistance to qualified students and also supports salary needs to attract and retain outstanding faculty and staff. Mr. Snelson reflected on the endowment and said, “In these turbulent and ever changing times in which we live, investing in Chrsitian education is paramount. Our children and grandchildren need the faith-based education that Fort Worth Christian provides. FWC had a profound impact on me and Nancy as well as my parents and family. I hope others will join us in investing in Fort Worth Christian by supporting the Cardinal Education endowment and help secure the long-term sustainability of this wonderful Christian school.”
Fort Worth Christian School is grateful to Ray and Jenifer Mulholland for establishing the Mulholland Family Endowed Scholarship in 2018. This Cardinal Education Foundation endowment provides need-based scholarship support. The annual scholarship recipient is a student in 7th-12th grade with demonstrated financial need who meets the academic and conduct requirements for FWC enrollment and is enrolled in Physical Education or a Physical Education alternative. The Mulhollands encourage others to join them in investing in Fort Worth Christian and securing the school’s long-term sustainability through an endowed gift.
The Fort Worth Christian Legacy Society honors donors who aspire to leave a legacy by creating permanent support and ensuring the future of FWC with a gift(s) to the endowment.
The endowment secures the financial sustainability of FWCS and provides need-based and merit-based scholarships to students desiring an excellent education rooted in Christian values. In a changing world, North Tarrant County needs the educational option provided by Fort Worth Christian School to teach excellence and equip students with a biblical worldview.
Make a gift of $10,000 or more to the FWC endowment (payable over 2 years). The $10,000 gift would be invested and not spent. The donor would have the option of continuing to make gifts to the endowment with the goal of increasing it to $25,000 or more. If the fund reaches $25,000, it will become a named endowment. The school will provide annual reports on the endowment growth, interest earned, and how the funds are distributed to support needs-based scholarship for deserving FWC students. Additional gifts can be made to the name endowment throughout your life.
Name Fort Worth Christian School in a planned gift vehicle that is valued at $10,000 or more. Planned gift vehicles include designating your named endowment account at FWC as a beneficiary:
• Of your will(s);
• Of a life insurance policy;
• Of a retirement plan or IRA;
Named endowments can be established with a minimum threshold gift of $50,000 payable over three to five years while gifts of lesser amounts can be made to the school’s general endowment.
