Entrance Exams for Canadian Courses: Kudos on your plan to pursue your studies in Canada! Canada is a land of academic excellence and opportunities to make your career brighter and better. Just like India, there are entrance exams and language proficiency tests that a student is required to give or appear for in order to proceed with their aspirations for studying in a University/College in Canada. To begin with, it is a well-known fact that one needs to give their IELTS examination in order to prove their proficiency of the English language. IELTS is the topmost and leading examination required to prove language proficiency when immigration comes into the picture. IELTS consists of 4 sections; Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing spanning over a time limit of 2 hours and 45 minutes. The accepted score of IELTS in Canada is 7.0 while depending on the courses a minimum of 5.0 IELTS scores can also be accepted.

Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT): This entrance examination tests the MBA enthusiasts who aspire to pursue Management or Business studies in Canada. This exam aims to test your Reasoning skills, English Language and Mathematics. While GMAT is an important requirement for many business colleges, a few don’t require GMAT like; Ivey Business School, Schulich School of Business (York University), DeGroote School of Business and Rotman School of Management (the University of Toronto). 2. Graduate Record Examination (GRE): This entrance examination is for aspirants who wish to pursue MA or MS. While there are many business institutes that consider the GRE scores before enrolling a student for MBA programs, a few Universities provide admission without the need of GRE scores . These Universities are: Brock University, Carleton University, Concordia University, Laurentian University, Lakehead University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Laval University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Royal Roads University, Trent University, University of Lethbridge, University of Manitoba, University of New Brunswick, University of Northern British Columbia, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, University of Prince Edward Island, University of Regina and University of the Fraser Valley. 3. Law School Admission Test (LSAT): The LSAT is a standard entrance examination for everyone who wishes to acquire admission in a Canadian Law University. This examination tests ones verbal and reading skills.
