HEALTH CARE ON THE HOME FRONT How much do you know about home health care? You might be aware that, after a serious illness, surgery or an accident, people may use services such as nursing and personal care at home to assist in the recovery process.

What may surprise you is the breadth of services available today, and home care’s increasing role in Canada’s health care system. In fact, many of our most vulnerable citizens can keep living independently in their communities because they have support from home health care professionals.

“People will do whatever it takes to keep mom living in her home, but our survey shows that only 14 per cent have researched home care,” says Cottrelle. “We encourage people to take advantage of our free consultations. With the average age of the population steadily increasing, home care is going to be playing a vital role in our lives.”
