THINK LOCAL. THINK CANBERRA.

LGBTIQ DIRECTORY PARTNER SEXUAL HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING ACT SHFPACT is Canberra’s sexual health promotion charity. We have been working to improve sexual and reproductive health in the Canberra community for 50 years. With a focus on promoting human rights and social justice, SHFPACT provides a broad range of clinical, education and training, and health information services to individuals, couples, families, workplaces, schools and community groups.

From supporting school-based sexuality and relationships education, providing health information to assist all people to make informed decisions, and offering specialised reproductive and sexual health clinical services, SHFPACT has been at the forefront in advancing a rights-based, inclusive perspective on human sexuality and relationships, supporting individuals, couples and the community to address their needs in these important areas of health and wellbeing.

SHFPACT’s multidisciplinary team works to identify and overcome barriers to health for priority populations such as young people, financially disadvantaged people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and people from the LGBTIQ community.

We are proud of our role serving LGBTIQ Canberrans, including the provision of leading anti-homophobia training in schools, supporting the establishment of peer youth networks, and ensuring our training program content reflects the sexual and gender diversity of our community.

We provide clinical and counselling services, health education, health promotion, professional development training, and information services in sexual and reproductive health, sexuality, and relationships to the Canberra community. Across our range of services, we work in partnership with many other community and government organisations.
