is a heartfelt expression as much as it is a title. Derived from the word beloved (most loved, dearly loved), this title carries the hope of encapsulating the feelings of being loved and cherished.

Be: Lovedst is a package consisting of scrapbook, song playlist, and zine. All carefully curated and made in hope to be within Kak Nathaya‘s liking.

The central theme of this zine aligns with the main idea and title of this package, which is the feelings of being loved, also covering the things Kak Nathaya would have (hopefully) loved.

Love comes in different shapes and form, and therefore not all love can be translated in the same manners, not even in films. Here are some films that I think represent love, in as many form as possible, the best:

Moonrise Kingdom

Directed by Wes Anderson

Charming and whimsical, Moonrise Kingdom delivered an innocent and pure love story between two 12 year olds who decided to run away together. It’s a light and delightful story of young love that could make you go “awww” as you watch their playful demeanor throughout their journey. I think Moonrise Kingdom is really just an endearing yet ultimately simple portrayal of love, in which the two of them just... love each other. There doesn’t have to be any grand conflict about their feelings, nor does there have to any obstacles that hinder and complicate their relationship.

It really is just a tale of the sweet childhood love that you might’ve missed and long to experience one more time.

Pride &

Prejudice Directed by Joe Wright

Love doesn’t always come in an instant, nor does it always be accepted as soon as it arrived; there just must be denials, misunderstandings, and anything along those lines. This was portrayed beautifully in Pride & Prejudice, a tale of two people

and

the

prejudice they had against each other, just to finally realize they really are madly in love with each other. I think it’s a well-realized story that feels close to us and ultimately feels all the more endearing as we watch them embrace their true feelings for the other.

aapreciousness of life, the beauty and mess that aacomes in loving someone so dearly, told in the aaperspective of an uncle and his upbeat nephew. aaaTo me, this is a really heartwarming story of aaaaaaafamilial love portrayed in a beautiful and aaaaaaaanuance manner that takes its time with aaaaaaaathe story which makes it all the more aaaaaaaaaaclose and real to us.

aaaabitersweet story of a man and aahis new neighbors who always g e t i n t h e w a y o f h i sg est u i c i d e a t t e m p t s . O t t o w a s l e f t wounded by the death of the woman he loved, but I think it’s really profound how he was slowly able to realize that he’ll always be loved by people around him, and that love was worth it for him to stay alive for, even with the annoyance and banters.

Pee Mak Directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun

Pee Mak is a comedic story for most of its runtime, but it still doesn’t

deliver

heartwarming tale of love that transcends time and space.

June & Kopi Directed by Noviandra Santosa

To be loved is to be changed, this statement was proved by this film to not only be applied for humans, but also for dogs. June & Kopi is a heartfelt tale of a family and their relationship with their pets.

It’s not very common for films to tell a story centered around animals, but June & Kopi executed this theme really well and ultimately delivered an endearing love between a dog and its owner that’s as strong as human love for each others.

Soulmate

Directed by Yong-Geun Min

A harsh truth that some might still struggle to get a grasp of is that nothing lasts forever, not even the purest love you carved together with the best friend you’ve grown up with, but when a soul hasaaaaaabeen tied together, is there anything to break aathem aaaaaaapart? Soulmate is a bitersweet tale of qqqqqqqqqqqqqfriendship with its ups and down, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafocusing on these two aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagirls whose friendship fell apart aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabut still try their best to mend it aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaback just like how it used to be. qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqit’s a simple yet sweet story qqqqqqqqqqqaaaaaaaaqthat feels close to us.

The Secret Life of Arriety is a movie that portrays a secret world that feels ethereal as how different it is from our own, and ultimately feels relaxing to watch as we enjoy the calming visual and scoring.

The Secret World of

Arriety (2010) This picture I took while I went for a walk in a forest reminds me a lot of this movie. It’s like seeing a house that Arriety would live in; small and made out of soil and leaves, but comfortable enough as the sunlight would give it warmth, and the bigger leave would protect it in rainy days.

The Tale of

Princess Kaguya (2013) Princess Kaguya was told from many folklores to be a girl born from a bamboo tree, and though this tree isn’t a bamboo tree, I still think it resembles that part of Princess Kaguya’s story a lot, as the hole on the tree

but also the aching hole in her heart as she thrived to find meaning in her life, even when she thinks she’s gotten

wanted in life.

Ponyo (2008) A child’s world is full of innocence and wonder, as they keep figuring out things about their life; be it their dreams or wants.

I tried to capture the child’s world in this picture, and ultimately, it remind me of Ponyo, the innocent and gleeful fish who wants to be a human after falling in love with a boy. It’s that kind of innocence that keeps a child’s world afloat, even when it comes from the purest kind of dream. This picture reminds me particularly of the time Ponyo first emerged from the water and becomes a human for the first time; filled with pure confusion but also intriguing wonder for what’s to come.
