STOMPY AND THE HEAT Best known as the writer/producer/guitarist behind the ARIA and multi award-winning artist Dan Sultan, Scott Wilson has enjoyed many musical accomplishments and now takes the opportunity to do something very different. Originally based around the sound of a cheap ‘60s Japanese guitar teamed with the manic drum style of Pete Marin, an uncomplicated collection of raw, bluesy, punky, songs has emerged.

THE BASICS After three years in the wilderness, Melbourne cult heroes The Basics announce their return to the stage. Between Tim’s film work on The Rise and Rise of Richard Latté, Wally’s triple Grammy win (as Gotye) and Kris’ latest bout of malaria, all signs point toward an interesting future for the band. Whatever comes next, The Basics will be celebrating their catalogue of good-time genrebending classics, with their latest single So Hard For You showcasing the gritty live sound that has come to define the band. SWEETHEARTS A mysterious and glamorous gang of 25 teenage girls who play gritty soul, inventiveness and deep songwiting. This enigmatic band is rapidly becoming the fresh face of the resurgent Melbourne nu-soul. The girls are the subject of an ABC 13-part documentary series, Heart and Soul, which follows the girls through a year leading up to a tumultuous and triumphant tour of Europe.

THE BROW HORN ORCHESTRA The Brow Horn Orchestra are fast becoming one of Australia’s most in demand party bands. A Perth-based act, with a bunch of east coast tours under their proverbial belt, their live show can simply not be ignored.
