Community in Action
How we’re building a stronger community together Summer 2025

Your donations don’t just provide immediate help—they build pathways to self-reliance that change lives for generations. Thank you for investing in people like Tristan!
Coming Full Circle: Tristan’s Journey
Your support creates ripple effects that change lives and strengthen our community
When Tristan Thomas returned to Utah from Arizona, she had little more than determination and hope. Thanks to your generous support, Community Action Services and Food Bank was there to help with her apartment deposit—the first step in a remarkable journey toward self-sufficiency.
“Having the support of my ally (Julie) and all the wonderful people at Circles, I was able to get the courage to apply for a better job, which I got!” Tristan shares. “I now work at Revolution Print and Packaging as quality control.”
The resources you help provide created a foundation for lasting change. Tristan joined our Circles initiative program, connected with an ally, and completed our financial literacy classes. As her confidence and skills grew, so did her independence.
“I was fully self-sufficient enough to start paying off some debt. I also was able to move into a bigger place,” she explains. “I took the deposit that was given to me by Community Action and put it on each apartment. I worked hard and built on the resource that was given to me.”
Today, Tristan has come full circle—now serving on the CASFB Board representing the low-income community. Even more remarkable, her employer has become a quarterly donor to our organization.
“I love the fact that all the support I received allowed stress to be taken off of my family so I could have a healthier relationship with them,” Tristan says.
This is what your support makes possible: not just temporary assistance, but transformative change that ripples through families and back into our community.

“There’s No Place Like Home” at Our 58th Birthday Bash

Hosted in the parking lot of our Provo warehouse, guests enjoyed a free meal, crafts, and giveaways. The event highlighted our housing programs, including permanent housing apartments, eviction prevention classes, rental assistance, and firsttime homebuying certification.

A Message from Our Chief Impact Officer
Your local support is more critical than ever
Community Action Services & Food Bank has served Utah, Wasatch & Summit Counties for 58 years! That’s only been possible because our community sees the value in helping individuals and families become selfreliant. With more and more people experiencing food and housing insecurity, we feel an even greater commitment to our important work, and hope you do, too.
As we move away from Federal grants to local support, your generous donations to CASFB become even more critical. We hope you’ll continue to partner with us and become a Community Investor!
