The Reason

Marines from the Reconnaissance and Raider communities and others will honor the 200+ who have fallen in service to our nation through a motorcycle ride from Washington, MO to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery and back to the Washington Fair Grounds . The mission is designed to raise maximum awareness of the sacrifices of those killed in action or in training and raise funds to support charities who assist the community, its Gold Star families and survivors.

The Recon Raider Remembrance Ride will be a convoy style operation conducted by any and ALL riders wanting to participate. Each participating motorcycle will represent a fallen Marine Raider or Reconnaissance Marine of which a bracelet will be assigned to wear for the duration of the ride. These bracelets will later be collected and given to the Gold Star families and foundations as a token of remembrance of their loved ones.

Once the bike is clean it’s important to make sure the bike is road worthy and safe for riding ater being unused for a time. If you haven’t heard of the T-CLOCK checklist lets break it down.

The T-CLOCK checklist for motorcycles is a comprehensive and systematic approach to ensuring the safety and performance of a motorcycle before riding.

Here. Let's Ride!!

T-CLOCK stands for Tires and wheels

Controls

Lights and electrics

Oil levels

Chassis

Kickstand

Each component of this checklist is critical in maintaining the reliability and safety of the motorcycle. By inspecting the tires and wheels, riders can ensure proper inflation, tread depth, and condition, reducing the risk of accidents due to tire-related issues. Checking controls such as brakes, throttle, clutch, and mirrors ensures that the rider has full command of the motorcycle during the ride. Lights and electrics inspection covers headlights, turn signals, brake lights, and horn, enhancing visibility and communication with other road users.

Moreover, the T-CLOCK checklist emphasizes the importance of monitoring oil levels and condition to prevent engine damage and maintain optimal performance. The chassis inspection involves examining the frame, suspension, and belt/chain for signs of wear or damage, promoting a smooth and stable ride. Lastly, checking the kickstand ensures it is secure and retracts properly, preventing accidents when parking or starting the motorcycle. By diligently following the T-CLOCK checklist before each ride, motorcycle riders can enhance their safety, prolong the lifespan of their bikes, and minimize the risk of mechanical failures on the road. This checklist serves as a valuable tool for both experienced riders and beginners, promoting responsible motorcycle maintenance and riding practices.
