Creating a Legacy of Strategic Success by Chris Reese, Chair, Fullerton Chamber of Commerce
In the Fullerton community the word “Legacy” can bring up many thoughts of individuals, organizations, and programs that have made a huge difference in the lives of our residents and businesses.
When this question was posed to our Board of Directors the response was clear, we will use the great work done before us to build and grow our Chamber through a five-year strategic plan focused on key measurable goals that this board and future boards can utilize to gauge success.
With that in mind I do not take the mantle of Chair of the Chamber lightly, knowing that I stand on the shoulders of giants. After 120 years of supporting the business community, the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce is the leader in supporting business attraction, retention, and growth in North Orange County.
In the next five years we plan to grow our membership by over 25 percent, grow our sponsorships by 15 percent, increase the return of our publications by 40 percent, increase our event attendance by 50 percent, and provide operational funding for administration of the Chamber’s facilities. These may seem like lofty goals, but we will accomplish these great strides by providing your business with a higher return on your investment in every area of Chamber operations.
With our own legacy of providing top-tier business services and delivering a return on investment well beyond expectations for our members, what more can the current Board of Director do to serve the Chamber?
While this is undoubtedly a lot to ask of our Chamber and its staff, I was impressed by how quickly this aggressive course was adopted by the Board. I have also been impressed with how quickly we have begun the more important process of Strategic Success ...continued on page 2 FullertonChamber.com
