As we begin to wind down 2014 and we find ourselves surrounded by friends and family during numerous joyous occasions that the holiday season brings, it is important to reflect on the blessings we have. When thinking about the economic vitality of Fullerton, I am grateful for the efforts of those who support the Fullerton business community. While the Chamber plays a critical role in the economic vitality of Fullerton’s business community, it does not do so alone; I could go on and on about the many individuals who have contributed a great deal of time and energy to support the Chamber, the sponsors that have provided generously to our Chairman’s Circle this year, the Chamber ambassadors and staff who help organize and promote the Chamber’s many programs, or the more than 600 businesses that are a part of the Chamber, forging an ever-stronger business alliance here in Fullerton.

It is also important to acknowledge that the businesses that call Fullerton home, as well as the buyers who consciously spend their money in Fullerton, drive our local economy through robust sales tax revenue. And with the holiday shopping season upon us, supporting Fullerton’s small businesses by aligning purchases with goods and services sold locally means we all play a role in keeping our local economy churning. Keeping your investment local creates a substantial return for our community. With this in mind, it is no surprise that the Chamber is a willing partner in Small Business Saturday®, a component of the Shop Small® program practiced across the nation that is designed to connect communities with local retail and restaurant establishments. Fullerton, as well as participating businesses and buyers, stand to gain significant benefits through the program.
