The rise of technology in the field of education over the past few decades has been astonishing. This is certainly the case if we think that teaching with technology has become widespread in almost every classroom environment. In today’s classroom, for example, smart boards, AVs, computers, laptops, tablets, and phones are all around, to name a few, but now some technologies are integrated into teaching.

We have also seen a significant increase in online education as well as the rise of the virtual learning environment and blended learning. This has allowed distance learning to take on new forms and forms and reach a wider audience worldwide. Educational technology is now a real part of education and, when used effectively, can have a significant impact on teaching and learning.

While it may seem impossible to imagine technology being used in our classrooms today, it should be noted that the way to integrate it is not without its problems. In fact, a large number of educators and teachers have initially rejected many of the technologies that students consider to be the mainstay of their studies. They preferred to use more traditional teaching methods and were unwilling to try something new, different and unfamiliar to them.

Another problem with introducing educational technology is that we often see such tools being driven by technology or IT departments, who are increasingly looking at technology in the classroom, regardless of their teaching interests. In other words, the implementation of technology is for the purpose of introducing new technologies.

Therefore, what we have learned from these experiences is that the teaching perspective must introduce new technology, without considering its pedagogical purpose once the technology has already been introduced. When technology is introduced without considering its purpose, we usually see a replica of traditional teaching and learning using online tools. This is not really enough to justify the investment that such technologies often require.

When thinking about introducing new technologies, it is important to consider carefully how this can allow learning in new and different ways through different pedagogical perspectives, such as connectivity.

We are now moving into a new era of technology, one of which is developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) or machine learning. Therefore, we need to think twice about whether such technology should be used in education and how it can be used to enhance teaching and learning, if necessary.

At present, there are broad expectations about how AI will integrate into future education. This ranges from commentators who say that AI takes only the administration of teachers, and others who think that AI completely replaces teachers in the classroom.

While such concepts are difficult for the majority of teachers to imagine, AI is already being used in some classrooms. For example, IBM Watson, Third Space Learning and the Duolingo Chatbot are all types of AI already used to enhance the learner experience.

However, when considering the use of AI in education, it is once again asserted that pedagogy, rather than technology, contributes to the development of new and diverse approaches to education.

Certainly, some of the developments discussed so far have focused on what drives teaching and learning. Key issues identified include the approach that AI allows for greater personalization and customization of the educational experience for learners.

Therefore, it allows for greater differentiation and personalized learning, both of which are critical to teaching and learning.

However, it is beneficial to learn how AI reflects the empathy and creative thinking that is the key to the role of the teacher in the classroom or to completely replace teachers with AI. Before the development of AI for educational use goes a long way, this is an important question. It is necessary to ensure that the implementation of AI in education is truly beneficial for future students.
