Jordan - Al-Karak Al- Qatarna region suffers from problems and drought in the water sector , despite the presence of many water collection places in the region, such as Wells, dams and canals, due to the semi-arid climate of the region, which leads to evaporation of a large percentage of water and water abuse, where many wells are exposed to water theft and some artesian wells malfunction, in addition to the pollution to which the water is exposed due to solid waste coming out of factories near the water places Looking Back at the history of the castle, we noticed that at some point in the past the castle used to have a water system that served people back in the Othman period. The castle's unique water system, connected to the largest water pool along the pilgrimage route, was a marvel until its decline post the opening of the highway. Sadly, this shift has taken a toll on AlQatrana's allure.

Despite its distinctive past, the area has faced challenges due to the railway's inactivity. Consequently, Al-Qatrana has suffered considerable damage, impacting its once-vibrant essence.

The local community, predominantly involved in agriculture and livestock, tends to keep to themselves.

Their focus remains on farming practices, preserving a connection to the land amidst changing times.

Al-Qatrana , nestled along the historic Old Hajaz Railway Road on the Shami pilgrimage route, holds a wealth of cultural treasures. Anchored by Al-Qatrana station and an Ottoman-era castle, once a pivotal storage site for Hajj pilgrims' provisions, this area boasts a rich past

Architectural Language For the location of the al Qatrana castle which happened to be built during the Othman era, and because of our work is in the castle and its surrounding we saw that Othman architecture - 1299 to 1922 - is best for our project.

This pond is one of the largest ponds on the Shami pilgrimage trail, and it is about 67 m long, and this is a little bigger than the pond of the great (62 m), it seems to us that the majority is deeper, but we cannot be sure that this pond is filled with silt unfortunately

These are old aerial images of the tar of World War I and I immediately understood the cause of the problem. These images give us an idea of an elaborate aquatic geometry. The pond was built on a sharp turn of the valley and two closed channels brought the torrent to the refinery. At the same time, a bumper stone wall was made to prevent the torrent from reaching the pond
