Create safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environments where students are connected to their schools and staff are connected to their work environment.

Engage parents, families, and community partners through education, communication, and collaboration to promote student success.

Expand and enhance the support provided to students with disabilities and unsheltered youth, with a specific focus on improving chronic attendance and suspension rates for both groups, as well as graduation rates for students with disabilities.

OUR 2022-2023 GOVERNING BOARD

The Role of the Governing Board

School districts and county offices of education are governed by boards, not by individual trustees. While understanding their separate roles, the Board and Superintendent work together as a "governance team". This team assumes collective responsibility for building unity and creating a positive organizational culture in order to govern effectively.

The Governing Board believes that its primary responsibility is to act in the best interest of every student in the district. The Board also has major commitments to parents/guardians, all members of the community, employees, the state of California, laws pertaining to public education, and established policies of the district.
