by Coach Redwood Movement is arguably the most significant factor in our evolutionary heritage. For much of human history, our movement patterns have allowed us to survive; the ability to migrate to appropriate living environments, feeding ourselves, defending ourselves, and escaping danger could not be done very efficiently in our distant past without our ability to move. For much of human history, our movement patterns have allowed us to survive; the ability to migrate to appropriate living environments, feeding ourselves, defending ourselves, and escaping danger could not be done very efficiently in our distant past without our ability to move. "Movement is arguably the most significant factor in our evolutionary heritage." It is because of this impact, that it is important to engage our mind and body in mindful, consistent, and occasionally strenuous activity throughout our lives, these practices will have a significant impact on the overall health of our minds and bodies as well as on our quality of life. As health deteriorates, we are less and less able to be useful, less and less able to perform definitively, and less able to pursue our dreams. With that said, we can see that health can be looked at as an increased capacity to do work in diverse ways. Health is your physical and mental usefulness. Fitness then is the training involved that allows a person to do work efficiently i.e. to be more useful; to move heavy things, long distances, quickly. Of course, health reveals itself not only through physical “power” but also through mental “power”, which we know as power of the will i.e. will power.
