LOOKINGFORWARD:QUARTERLY NEWSLETTERSRETURN!

As mentioned earlier this year, FSCSM planned to move to a quarterly newsletter format to provide updates and announcements on a regular but more manageable schedule While we initially wanted to release our first newsletter in September, adjustments in the administration of skating programs meant focusing our efforts on navigating these changes and keeping members informed through email updates instead

Looking ahead, we ’ re thrilled to resume our quarterly newsletters along with regular email updates to keep everyone informed Starting with our next issue, we’ll bring back the beloved Skater Spotlight and introduce an exciting new segment featuring our treasured coaches! These highlights will give you a closer look at the incredible skaters and coaches who make FSCSM such a special community As always, we remain dedicated to creating the best possible experience for all members, working tirelessly behind the scenes to support our skating family

As always, we value your input! Please don’t hesitate to share feedback through our online form so we can continue to improve and grow together Thank you for being part of FSCSM!

RECAP OF USFS’ NEW MUSIC POLICY

Music is essential to skating performances, but proper licensing is crucial to comply with copyright laws and avoid penalties U S Figure Skating (USFS) has partnered with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and Broadcast Music, Inc (BMI) to provide a blanket Performance License for music used at sanctioned events as long as these organizations fully cover the music.

USFS recommends ensuring all music for competitions, shows, and training is 100% cleared by BMI or ASCAP. Athletes, coaches, choreographers, and parents should verify compliance to protect skaters and member organizations Additional details are available for guidance
