MEET OUR NEWEST BOARD MEMBERS!

I first heard about Friends of Kids with Cancer while working with Launch St. Louis back in 2016. I loved the mission so started volunteering and was fortunate to join the Young Friends group shortly thereafter. I’ve worked with other non-profit organizations over the years and the Friends’ events like VooDoo in the Lou, Art from the Heart, and the Fashion Show are the most impactful and unique I’ve seen. It is a great honor to be joining the Board where I’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with an amazing group of people and will do everything I can to help further their noble cause.

Ryan Lommel joins the Board of Directors after 20 years of continued support for Friends of Kids with Cancer. Ryan has been a contributing member of the Golf Tournament & Auction committee, one of the charity’s largest fundraiser events, for the past 9 years and has served as co-chair for the past three years. Ryan is very excited and eager to get more involved in the charity and to look for new ways to contribute to the overall mission of helping kids and families battling cancer.

My name is Katy Carson, and I am a childhood cancer survivor. I was first introduced to the charity in 2001 when I was diagnosed with ALL leukemia when I was 14 years old. Friends of Kids with Cancer created a lifetime of friendships and memories for me as we traveled to Chicago and Boston for Teen trips. Fast Forward to 2010 and I helped launch Young Friends of Kids with Cancer. I served on the Executive Board of Young Friends and remained on the Board until I was nominated and voted onto the Friends main Board of Directors. I am honored to be a part of such an amazing organization that provided me with a lifetime of memories, and I can’t wait to give my time, talents, and treasures to Friends of Kids with Cancer.
