FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT

Dear friends,

It is a privilege to serve as the new Board President of Friends of Kids with Cancer. With twenty five years experience in hematology and oncology, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of this organization. I joined the board as a new nurse in the late 1990s and was reengaged to serve in 2015. This charity holds a special place in my heart.

The donor community, staff, and volunteers support these children and their families from the time of the unimaginable diagnosis through the grind of illness and isolation. Friends of Kids is there every step of the way to offer emotional, educational, and recreational resources throughout this treatment journey and well beyond.

I am mindful of the larger memories—Toy Closets, Memory Makers, and the Fashion Show & Boutique, just to name a few. But just as powerful are the moments of hidden dedication—tutoring, support groups, and one-onone conversations, peer relationships, sibling support— all happening behind the scenes. I believe in Friends, I love Friends, and am committed to carrying forward this beautiful mission.
